This building was erected during the summer of 1855, and dedicated Dec. 25th, 1855. It was the first German Protest- ant Church built on the Pacific coast, and to the efforts of its worthy pastor full credit should be given for the enter- prise. It is a wooden building 32 hy 50 feet, of one story in hight, with a basement wbich is used as a day school. Pub- lic services at this church are held every Sunday at 11 A. M. and 7 P. M.

Public services every Sunday at 1032 A. M., 3 P. M. and 732 P. M. Sunday School at 9 A. M. ; prayer meeting and lec- ture every Wednesday evening at 7>2 P. M. This congre- gation was organized by the present pastor Sept. 21st, 1856, who was commissioned to California as a missionary from the M. E. Church, and arrived in California May 1st, 1855. The building is of brick, 36x58, one story, and was dedica- ted Sept. 21st, 1856.
