WASS, UZNAY & CO. ASSAYERS -OF- GOLD, SILVER, AND ORES

OF EVERY DESCRIPTION,

No. 87 MERCHANT STREET, SAN FRANCISCO.

W., U. & Co. take the liberty to draw attention to the following circum- stances in connection with their Melting and Assaying business :

They have reduced their charges for Melting and Assaying of Gold ; return Deposits in bars within 24 hours, and receive Deposits by the Ex- press Offices.

S. C. WASS, of the firm, having personally made arrangements with MESSRS. B. BEREND & CO. and other heavy Bullion Merchants in NEW YORK, Bars of our manufacture can be disposed of without any difficulty or inconvenience to shippers.

CALIFORNIA METALLURGICAL WORKS

S. W. COR. OF HARRIS & BRANNAN STS., SAN FRANCISCO,

For the purpose of melting various kinds of Ores, especially Tailings of Quartz Mills, Black Sand, Jewellers' Sweepings, and other Gold and Silver bearing matter.

Auriferous Quartz frequently contains Sulphurets, combinations of Gold with Lead, etc., which prevent the proper extraction of the precious metal by Amalgamation-a circunistance which often causes a severe loss to the owner. . We therefore invite proprietors of Quartz works, and everybody who may be in possession of some Gold or Silver bearing stuff, to collect the same and have samples of it tested at our office. Our charges for such assays shall be moderate, and not exceed $3.00 for each ; and if the assayed lot should be sold to us afterwards, we shall make no charge at all for the assay. Samples of such tailings of about 1 lb. weight are solicited, but have to be sent to us free of Express charge.
