INDIANA COLLECTION LAWS.


Actions .- Must be brought in the name of the real party, in interest. The disti .. tween actions at law and suits in equity is abolished, and a single form denominated a en is substituted.


Arrest .-- No imprisonment for debt except in cases of frand.


Attachment .-- May issue upon proper affidavit and bond when action is for the re money in the following cases: (1) Where a defendant is a foreign corporation, or & no. of the State; or, (2) Where a defendant is secretly leaving, or bas left the State, with. : defraud creditors ; or, (3) so conceals himself that summons can not be served upon h. is removing, or is about to remove his property, subject to execution, or a material par out of the State, not leaving enough to satisfy plaintiff's claim ; or, () has sold, con. otherwise disposed of bis property, subject to execution ; or sunered, or permitted . with the fraudulent intent to cheat, hinder, or delay his creditors ; or, (C) is about to s !! or otherwise dispose of his property, subject to exeention, with such intent. Corporations .- Are organized under general laws. The only personal liability holders of manufacturing and mining corporations is to pay the amount of stock sabe. them respectively, except that such stockholders are individually liable for all deb:s . owing laborers, servants, apprentices and emploves for services rendered such com (Laws Special Session 1575, p 23.) By Act of March 13, IST, it is provided that the end any corporation doing business in this State, whether organized under the laws of ti .: otherwise, shall be entitled to have a lion upon the corporate property and earnings of : . poration for all work and labor done therefor. Said hen to be prior to any and all liens or acquired subsequent to the date of such employment, except that when any person, e! an employe shall acquire a lien upon the corporate property, and such lien shall remain : of record for 60 days in any county in this State where such corporation is located or dei iness, and no lien shall have been acquired by any employe of such corporation dure period, then such lien shall have priority over the lien of the employes, also, except any purchase money. To acquire such lien the employe must have a notice of his intention to recorded in the Recorder's office of the county where the corporation is located or doing b ... Dower .- Tenancies by the courtesy and in dower are abolished. If a husband die t. . intestato, leaving a widow, one third of his real estate shall descend to her in fee simple, free ! demands of creditors: Provided, That where the real estate exceeds in value $10,000, the shall have one-fourth only, and where it exceeds in value $20,000, one-fifth only as against t !. itors. If a wife die testate or intestate, leaving a widower, one third of her real estate scend to him, subject, however. to its proportion of the debts of the wife contracted bele! riage. In the following section of the work, the cities, villages and post-offices of Indiana, are arranged in alphabetical order, and a description is given of each place, with an alphabetical list of all persons doing business therein. In all the larger places the names have been procured by personal canvass, but in the einaller they have been furnished by postmasters. Great care has been taken to ensure correctness as well as completeness.


AARON. Located in Pleasant town- ship, Switzerland county, is a village of 40 inhabitants, 12 miles northwest of Ve- vay, the county seat, and usual shipping point. Bear creek furnishes water power for a saw mill. The place has a Methodist church and district school. Mail daily. C. G. Adams, postmaster,
