He was 5th in line from Edward Bangs, who was one of the recognized founders of Plymouth Colony, having come over on the ship ' Anne' in July, 1623. (See Edward Bangs records above. ) Hed. 1. BLANCHARD, CHANDLER (1), b. at Chittendon, Vt. This family em- igrated from France in about 1680, having been driven from the country because of its faith, that of Protestantism. Settling first in Nova Scotia, the fan.ily later drifted to United States, settling at Chittendon, Vt. In France the name was spelled "Bouchard", becoming "Blanchetts" in Canada, and "Blanchard" in United States. The first known record of this family is that of Chandler, who re- moved to Stamford, Vt., about 1820. He m. Minerva Eaton in 1828

It was in the possession of members of the Brack- ett family until its sale to Alton Fitzroy in 1944. Jonathan Brack- ett d. July 22, 1867. Children:

June 20,1875, at Sa- voy, and d. May 20, 1936. They resided at West Hawley. Mr. Brackett d. Nov. 20,1926. Children: 1. Murray (4), b. Sept. 8,1897, unm., he is a farmer in West Hawley. 2. iii. John Adalbert (3), b. Dec. 28,1871, m. Luella M. Stafford of Hawley, Feb. 12,1909. He was a brick mason. She was b. Dec. 19,1869. They resided in West Hawley, later re- moved to Zephyr Hills, Florida, where he d. Apr. 18, 1951. Bur. in Zephyr Hills, Fla.
