REPORT OF THE SELECTMEN FOR THE YEAR 1957
The Selectmen submit the following report on the activities of their de- partment for the year 1957.
The Board organized on January 22, 1957, with the election of Charles L. Rich, Chairman, and Walter A. Blasenak, Clerk.
Appointments were made during the year as follows:

There were also appointed election officers for the Annual Town Meeting and for special town meetings, various special officers at large and at parti- cular premises, including all schools and special schools, various sworn weighers, measures of bark and surveyors of lumber, and patrolmen.
Miscellaneous Licenses and Permits
From time to time on application therefor and report thereon licenses and permits were granted for various activities as permitted by law as follows: namely, common victuallers and transfers of same; Sunday amuse- ments; pool rooms; bowling alleys; junk dealers; public amusements; roller skating rink; lodging houses; intelligence officers; fruit and vegetable stands; sales of frozen desserts; fruit ice cream, confectionery; exchange of second hand motor vehicles and parts; taxicabs; business and private garages; keep- ing, storing and sale of volatile inflammable fluid, fuel, oil, and other petro- leum products; after hearings, Class I, II, and III licenses for purchase and sale of second hand motor parts and vehicles.
