Wilts, Eng., came in the ship "Angel Gabriel," from Bristol, April, 1635, and was cast away at Pemaquid, now Bristol, Me., in the great storm of Aug. 15, 1635. John Bayly Sen. received land in the "first division," 1640, '42, and '43; held the grant for fishing on the "Pawaw" river in 1642; was a townsman and commoner and taxed in '50 ; rem. to New- bury in 1650; d. Nov. 2, 1651[Nb]. Willt Oct. 28, 1651; April 13, 1652; inv. est. Nov. 12, 1651. His wife never came to this country, and he was afraid to go back. The year he died, the court enjoined him "to return unto his wife by next summer, or send for his wife to come over to him." Children :
