Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the construction of a section of High Street, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase, take by eminent domain, or otherwise acquire such rights, titles and ease- ments in and on land on the easterly side of Spring Street between stations 130 and 133 as shown on the County Plan of Relocation of Spring Street of 1949 and further identified on the Assessors Plans as Lots 276 and 277, as may be neces- sary for the disposal of street surface water.


Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or transfer from the unexpended balance voted under Article 19 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1955 a sum of money for the purpose of making a drainage study and survey of the Curve, Pleasant, Metacomet, and South Street area, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purpose of replacing the stringers and planking, and for making repairs to the Cause- way Street bridge or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow a sum of money for the purpose of widening and improving the westerly side of North Street from Frairy Street in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 300 feet (along the First Congregational Church), and installing a sidewalk on the westerly side of

North Street from 6 North Street (Sauer's Market) to the First Congregational Church, or do or act anything in rela- tion thereto.


Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to defray the costs of land damages incurred in conjunction with the relocation of South Street, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow and/or transfer from the Road Machinery Fund and/or available funds a sum of money for the purchase of a truck and plow for the use of the Highway Department, and authorize the trade of the Brockway truck, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 22. To see if the own will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purchase of a Surface Ma- terial Spreader for the use of the Highway Department or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the construction of a sidewalk on the westerly side of Pleasant Street between Oak Street and Legion Hall, a distance of approximately 500 feet or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the construction of a sidewalk on the northerly side of Lowell Mason Road between Green Street and North Street, a distance of approximately 1160 feet, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to amend the By-Laws of 1926 by adding the following sentence to Section 1 of Article 1:

Section 1. The Annual Town Meeting for the Election of Officers and other matters as may be voted on the offi- cial ballot shall be held on the First Monday in March each year, and the Annual Town Meeting for the transaction of business shall be held on the second Monday in March of each year. The polls for the election of town officers and such other matters as may be voted on the official ballot shall be opened at 12:00 Noon and shall be closed at 8:00 o'clock P.M.


Article 29. To see if the Town will vote to create a Stabilization Fund in accordance with the provisions of Chap- ter 40, Section 5B, General Laws (Ter. Ed.), and the amend- ments thereto.


Article 30. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate or transfer from available funds a sum of money to the Stabilization Fund created under Article 29, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 31. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money due as an unpaid bill to the estate of Amos C. Kingsbury for services rendered to the Town as Collector of Taxes for the year 1955. or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 32. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purpose of installing an oil heating system in the Town Hall, and installing regulatory controls, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 33. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for mosquito control to be expended in accordance with a bill now before the Legislature entitled "An Act Creating a Mosquito Control Project in Norfolk County," or do or act anything in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate, or transfer from available funds the sum of $1,000.00 and authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to expend the same in investigations, engineering surveys and title searches relating to suitable sites for the future standpipe, this to in- clude rights of way for an access road and for a pipe line con- necting to the public highway. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a Com- mittee of five to look into the cost and feasibility of having a professional evaluation of real estate in the Town made by a private company, said Committee to make a report and recommendations to the Town at the next Annual Town Meet- ing, or do or act anything in relation thereto. Article 53. To see if the Town will vote to convey to Warren C. Bois, or his designee, the after described parcel of land held by the Town for school purposes, and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to execute and deliver a deed therefor in behalf of the Town.


A certain parcel of land situated on the southwesterly side of North Street, in Medfield, Norfolk County, Massa- chusetts, and bounded and described as follows:


NORTHWESTERLY by other land of Town of Medfield, 297.23 feet;


WESTERLY by other land of Town of Medfield, 36.10 feet;


SOUTHEASTERLY by land of Bois, 319.60 feet; and


NORTHEASTERLY by North Street, 26.14 feet.


Said premises contain 8,019 sq. feet of land and are shown as Lot No. 9 on a plan entitled "Sub-Division of a Portion of Ld. Ct. No. 9393 A1" dated 12/4/55 drawn by McCarthy Engineer- ing Service Inc. and duly registered with Norfolk Registry Dis- trict of the Land Court as plan No. 9393G. (School Building Committee)


Article 54. To see if the Town will vote to accept a con- veyance of the after described premises, to be used for school purposes ,from Warren C. Bois et ux. A certain parcel of land in Medfield, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, and bounded and described as follows:


SOUTHWESTERLY by other land of the Town of Medfield 78.72 feet;


SOUTHEASTERLY by land of Pear, 53.31 feet; generally by other and


EASTERLY land of Bois et ux, 125.65 feet; and


NORTHWESTERLY by other land of the Town of Medfield, 124.95 feet.


Said premises contain 7,753 sq. ft. of land and are shown on a "Plan of Land in Medfield, Mass." dated 12/5/55, drawn by McCarthy Engineering Service Inc. and recorded with Norfolk Deeds as Plan No. 1685 of 1955 in Book 3438 at Page 250. (School Building Committee)


Article 55. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to enter into a contract for twelve months for consultive services available to the several officers, committees, and boards of the Town in the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment, and commodities; and to raise and appropriate or appropriate by transfer from available funds a sufficient sum of money therefore." To hear the report of the Committee appointed at the last Annual Town Meeting for the purpose of investi- gating the acquisition of land between Adams and West Streets for school expansion and the acquisition of land for other town purposes and for departmental expansion, to see if this committee should be continued in being, to appropri- ate money for their use, and do or act anything in relation thereto. Article 57. To hear and act on the report of any special committee appointed at any previous Special own Meeting or Annual Town Meeting or appointed by the Moderator of Se- lectmen as authorized by the vote of the Town.


Article 58. To see if the Town will vote to choose, au- thorize the Moderator or Selectmen to appoint a committee or committees which shall report at a future Town Meeting on whatever matter is assigned to it, or them, at this meet- ing, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 59. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a committee of five members and authorize it to make arrange- ments and to spend money appropriated under Article 3 for the observance of Memorial Day.


Article 60. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to provide suitable quarters for the Beckwith Post No. 110 American Legion in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40, Section 9, General Laws (Ter. Article 61. To see if the Town will vote to designate that area in the vicinity of the intersection of Spring Street and Main Street as "Vincent Bravo Square" in commemoration of the service to his country in World War II of the late Vincent Bravo; choose a committee to arrange for suitable dedicatory services and raise and appropriate such a sum of money as may be necessary for a proper memorial and commemorative services. Article 62. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-Laws of the Town of Medfield adopted April 5, 1938, and amendments thereto, and as on file with the Town Clerk, by removing the after described premises from "A" Residence District Uses and placing said premises under Business Dis- trict Uses.


A certain parcel of land situated on the southeasterly side of Main Street owned by Helen G. McCarthy and now being used for two businesses; namely, The Colonial, and R. K. Mc- Carthy & Son, Caterers, and bounded and described as follows:

Article 63. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-Law of the Town of Medfield as revised December 10, 1953 and subsequent amendments thereto by removing such portions of the after described property as now lies in "A" Residence District to Business District so that all of said premises will lie in "Business District" and will be subject to the uses permitted in "Section iv, Business District Uses." A certain parcel of land situated on the northerly side of Main Street and bounded and described as follows:


SOUTHERLY on Main Street, 295 feet.


WESTERLY AND NORTHWESTERLY by land now or formerly of John Hagman, 200 ft. and 175 ft., respectively.


NORTHERLY at a point 355 feet from and running parallel to Main Street for 200 ft.


NORTHEASTERLY by land now or formerly of New York, N. H. & Hartford R.R., 365 feet,


or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Petition)


Article 64. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-Law for the Town of Medfield, Massachusetts, amended June 29, 1953, as subsequently amended by adding to "Sections 1. Establishment of Districts," a sixth class of dis- tricts to be called "C" Residence District, and by further amend- ing "Section II. "AA", and "A" Residence District Uses" so that the same will read 'Section II. "AA", "C" and "A" Residence District Uses" and by amending "Section VII. Area Regulations" by adding to Paragraph No. 5 thereof the follow- ing language: "No dwelling shall be erected in a "C" Resi- dence District on a lot containing less than 80,000 sq. feet or less than 225 feet wide provided that one dwelling may be erected on any lot which at the time of this amendment to the by-law is adopted is separately owned and contained not less than 30,000 sq. ft. and not less than 150 ft. wide and provided that one dwelling may be erected on any lot which on June 29, 1953, was separately owned and contained not less than 20,000 sq. ft. and not less than 120 ft. wide and also provided that

one dwelling may be erected on any lot which was separately owned on April 21, 1938. Street and side line set-back require- ments as heretofore established for "AA" and "A" Residence District shall be applicable to "C" Residence District. (Petition)


Article 65. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the lands hereinafter described from their present Zoning Classi- fications and to place the same under the Classification of "C" Residence District.


The land in Medfield, bounded and described as follows:


Beginning at a point at the southeasterly corner of land of Ruth N. Wheelwright and land of N.Y., N.H. & Hart- ford R.R. Co., thence northerly along the easterly bound- ary of land of said Ruth N. Wheelwright to Elm Street; thence westerly by Elm Street to Cross Street; thence nor- therly along Cross Street to Philip Street; thence easterly along Philip Street and Foundry Street and Foundry Street extended, to the Medfield and Walpole Town Line; thence southerly by said Medfield and Walpole Town Line to land of the N.Y., N.H. & Hartford R.R. Co .; thence northwesterly by said land of said N.Y., N.H. & Hartford R.R. Co .; to the point of beginning; in each instance where Streets are mentioned, the center line thereof to be the line of description,


or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Petition)


Article 66. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or borrow, or transfer from available funds or otherwise, for the purchase and installation of a three hundred foot extension of the six inch water main in Pine Street, in a northerly direction from its present terminus, or do or act anything in relation thereto. Article 67. To see if the Town will vote to appoint the following committee to look into the advisability of a Town Manager or Town Engineer and to report at the next Annual Meeting, or if the report is completed at an early date, at some Special Town Meeting or do or act anything in relation thereto. An appropriation of $100.00 is requested for any expense the committee might incur. Committee to consist of Edward A. Harding; William S. Farmer; John A. Lantz; Robert L. Coulter; Mark Hollingsworth; Myron Smith; and Roger E. Hardy. (Petition)


Article 68. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Assessors to use a sum of money from free cash in the Treasury for the reduction of the 1956 Tax Rate, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 69. To see if the Town will vote to accept the following named sums as Perpetual Trust Funds for the care of lots in the Vine Lake Cemetery, the interest thereof or as may be necessary to be used for said care, viz: Benjamin H. Brock Lot $125.00 Mabel Rogers Lot 50.00


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting an attested copy thereof, in the usual place for posting war- rants in said Medfield, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
