To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1955, and to issue note, or notes there- fore payable withi none year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.


Article 6. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year; also to determine what percentage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.

To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow a sum of money for the installation of a drainage system in an easement extending in a southerly direction from the corner of Oak and Park Streets, and from thence in a westerly direction under the roadbed of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to accept as part of a public way that section of Grove Street from Dale Street to the Public Dump which extends in a northwesterly direc- tion from Dale Street for a distance of approximately 1690 feet as relocated by the Selectmen and as shown on a plan of relocation on file in the Town Clerk's Office.


Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow a sum of money to defray the costs of land damage and for the reconstruction and surfacing of Grove Street between Dale Street and the Public Dump in accordance with a plan on file in the Town Clerk's Office, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the reconstruction of a sidewalk on the easterly side of North Street from the intersection of North and Pine Streets, southerly for an approximate distance of five hundred and twenty-five (525) feet, or do or act any- thing in relation thereto.


Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the reconstruction of a sidewalk in the westerly side of Miller Street from a point two hundred and fifteen (215) feet south of Main Street to a point five hundred and seventy-three (573) feet south of Main Street, a distance of three hundred and fifty-eight (358) feet, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the reconstruction of a sidewalk on the westerly side of Pleasant Street from Main Street in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately six hundred and fifteen (615) feet, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the reconstruction of a sidewalk on the easterly side of Janes Avenue from Main Street in a north- erly direction for a distance of approximately ninety (90) feet and on the northerly side of Main Street from Janes Ave-

Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to lease from Francis D. Walsh a parcel of land on the corner of North Street and Janes Avenue shown on the Assessors' Map as Lot 238 for the purpose of Off-the-Street parking, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the leasing of Lot 238 as shown on the Assessors' Map on the southerly corner of North Street and Janes Avenue, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to petition the Boston Edison Company to install one (1) streetlight on pole No. 3 on Janes Avenue, the cost of installation to be taken from the appropriation for Street Light- ing under Article 3, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 29. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to petition the Boston Edison Company to install one (1) street light on pole No. 1/5 on North Street, the cost of installation to be taken from the appropriation for Street Lighting under Article 3, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 30. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for repairs to the floor of the Select- men's Office in the Town Hall, or do or act anything in rela- tion thereto.

Article 40. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $324.54 from the Treasury to the Library, the same being the amount of fines collected by the Library during the year 1954, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 41. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow the sum of $2,000.00 for the Library to be used toward the conversion of a part of the basement into a children's room, or do or act anything in relation thereto.


Article 42. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to defray the cost of aerial mos- quito control spraying, or do act anything in relation thereto. (Tree Warden)


Article 43. To see if the Town will vote to amend Section II "AA" and "A" Residence District Uses of the Zoning By- Law for the Town of Medfield, Mass., as printed and published September 8, 1953, as amended, by adding after 8 (g) of said section the following:


(h) Automobile trailer, for dwelling purposes, or any structure which originally was constructed or manufactured as an automobile trailer, for dwelling purposes. (Planning Board)


Article 44. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate and/or borrow a sum of money, for the installation of a sidewalk on Spring Street, between Main Street and Curve Street, or any part thereof, or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Park & Planning Board)


Article 45. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a com- mittee of five (5) members and authorize it to make arrange- ments and to spend money appropriated under Article 3 for the observance of Memorial Day.

To see what additional instructions the Town will give the "School Building Committee" appointed under Ar- ticle 8 of the Special Town Meeting of November 30, 1953, in connection with the acquiring of additional land, preparing plans and data, constructing of an addition to Memorial School, and originally equipping the same, and to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow, or transfer from unex- pended balances a sum of money to accomplish said purposes.

To see if the Town will vote to appoint a com- mittee to make a study, recommendations and report of de- partmental expansions, purchases of land for public purposes, and future capital expenditures, and to raise and appropriate a sum of money to defray the cost of compiling, printing and distribution the report and recommendations of said committee, or do or act anything in relation thereto. Article 54. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a com- mittee to present plans and estimates of cost for a permanent honor roll or honor rolls for the Veterans of the Revolutionary

To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning Map of the Town of Medfield as Revised to December 10, 1953, as amended, by removing such portions of the after- described property as now lies in "A" Residence District to In- dustrial District, so that all of said premises will lie in In- dustrial District and be subject to the uses permitted in "Sec- tion V Industrial District Uses" of the Zoning By-Law of the Town of Medfield.


A certain parcel of land situated on West Mill Street and bounded and described as follows:

SOUTHWESTERLY by land now or formerly of Edward G. Rudd et al, 578.53 feet;

Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the meeting was opened at 6:00 A.M. by the Town Clerk following the reading of said warrant. The ballot box had been previously checked and found in good working order, instructions to voters posted and specimen ballots displayed at the entrance and within the polling place.
