Article 26. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation under the provisions of law authorizing the assess- ment of betterments, for the original construction of public ways in the Town, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, including land damages and the cost of pave- ment and sidewalks laid at the time of said construction ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 27. To see if the Town will authorize the ac- quisition by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise of any land, easements or rights therein, including an easement or easements in land adjoining the location of any or all pub- lic ways, the laying out of which is accepted at this meet- ing, consisting of a right to have the land of the location protected by having the surface of such adjoining land slope from the boundary of the location; make an appro- priation for such acquisition; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 28. To see if the Town will accept the estab- lishment of exterior lines of a way from Hillsdale Road to a point northwesterly of land now or formerly of Alfred Morton, in the location shown upon the plan hereinafter mentioned, as made and filed in the office of the Town Clerk by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works; make an appropriation therefor including damages ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 29. To see if the Town will make an appropri- ation or appropriations for the relocation, alteration and widening, construction of, specific repairs upon and im- provement of all or any part of the ways within the town as now existing or hereafter relocated, altered or widened, including land damages, if any, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments or otherwise; said appropriations to be used with a sum or sums allotted by the Commonwealth or County or both for this purpose; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action in any way relating to all or any of the foregoing.


Article 30. To see if the Town will change the name of Henderson Street to Edwards Street or take any action relative to all or any portion of said Henderson Street.

To see if the Town will make an appropri- ation or appropriations to pay the claims or charges of Symmes Arlington Hospital including such claims and charges for aid, relief or care furnished prior to January 1, 1940, to persons falling into distress and standing in need of immediate relief ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 32. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500.) or any other sum to be expended under the direction of the School Com-

mittee, for the purpose of extending sprinkler systems in various school buildings; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action re- lating thereto.

Article 33. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of five thousand dollars ($5000.) to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, for the purpose of completing inside telephone system in the new high school building and altering system in old high school building so that both may be connected to one desk type switchboard; determine' in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 34. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of three thousand six hundred dollars ($3,600.) to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, for the purpose of replacing three tubular steel boilers with two cast iron boilers at the Russell School; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of three thousand six hundred ($3,600.) or any other sum, to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, for the purpose of replacing gutters and con- ductors with new copper and making other minor roof re- pairs on Locke School building; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 36. To see if the Town will appoint a commit- tee of five, two members at least to be appointed from the School Committee, to procure plans and specifications for the completion of the high school auditorium, and estimates

To see if the Town will appoint a com- mittee to procure plans and specifications for the con- struction of a four room addition to the Hardy School build- ing, and estimates of the cost of such addition and of the original equipment and furnishings thereof and of the grading of the grounds of said school; said committee to report to the Town not later than the annual meeting of 1941 ; make an appropriation for the use of such committee ; or take any action relating thereto.
