Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to elect a Town Director for the Cape Cod Extension Service.


Recommend that one be elected. Unanimous vote.


Article 3. To see in what manner the Town will dis- pose of its refunded Dog Tax.


Recommend that the refunded Dog Tax be made avail- able to the Public Library. Unanimous vote.


Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of financial year beginning January 1, 1945, and to issue a note or notes therefore, payable in one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Sec. 17, Chap. 44, G. L.


Recommend that the Treasurer be so authorized. Unan- imous vote.


Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the Public Library.


Recommend the appropriation of $100.00. Unanimous vote.


Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money not to exceed $1,000.00 for the establishment and maintenance of a free bed in the Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Mass., for the care and treatment of persons certified by the Selectmen to be residents of the Town and unable to pay for such care and treatment,

in accordance with Chap. 111, Sec. 74, G. L., or take any action thereto and act fully thereon.


Recommend the appropriation of $300.00. Unanimous vote.


Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the protection and propaga- tion of Shellfish or take any action thereto and act fully thereon.


Recommend the appropriation of $600.00 for the fol- lowing purposes : Constable's salary $350.00; shellfish pro- tection, $150.00 and propagation, $100.00. Unanimous vote.


Article 8. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to control, regulate or prohibit the taking of eels, and any kind and all kinds of shellfish and seaworms, as provided for under the provisions of Sec. 52, Chap. 130, Acts of 1941.


Recommend that the Town so vote. Unanimous vote.


Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to issue licenses for private grants under the provisions of Sec. 57, Chap. 130, G. L., as amended by Chap. 598, Acts of 1941.


Recommend that the town so vote. Unanimous vote.


Article 10. To see if the Town will invest the Select- men with the authorization to plant and close areas as pro- vided for under the provisions of Sec. 54, Chapter 130, G. L., as amended by the Acts of 1941.

Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to act exclusively as provided by Section 56, G. L., as amended by Chapter 598, Acts of 1941.

Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to continue to make a charge on all shellfish permits issued, or take any action relative thereto.

Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to petition the Commissioner for the right to regulate and control the public alewive fishery in the Town as provided by Section 94, G. L., as amended by Chap- ter 598, Acts of 1941.

Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell property taken by the Town under tax title procedure, or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend that the Town so vote and an appropria- tion of $400.00 be made. Unanimous vote.


Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to pay a bounty of fifty cents each for woodchucks killed within its boundaries during the ensuing year and appropriate the sum of $30.00 for this purpose or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend that no appropriation be made for this purpose. Unanimous vote.

Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to pay 1944 bills, under the provisions of Chapter 179, Acts of 1941.


Recommend appropriation be made if needed. Unani- mous vote.


Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money from appropriated available funds in the treasury to purchase War Bonds and other bonds to increase the Rehabilitation Fund in accordance with Provisions Chapter 5, Acts of 1943.


Recommend that the appropriation of $2,000.00 be taken from the available funds. Unanimous vote.


Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to be used for the suppres- sion of tent caterpillars under direction of local 4H Club Leaders, or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend that the sum of $50.00 be appropriated. Unanimous vote.


Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout for an extension of the Town Landing or Common Landing Place the South Side of Salt Pond, as made out by the Selectmen and filed with the Town Clerk and to see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to take by eminent domain, purchase or gift, said landing and vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for this purpose or take action relative thereto.


Recommend we accept the article as read and raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 for the purpose. Unan- imous vote.

Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of clearing the sedge grass from the proposed new Town Landing at the Salt Pond, and do or act anything thereon. (By re- quest.)


Recommend that no funds be appropriated. Unani- mous vote.


Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Road Machinery Fund to the Road Machinery Operating Account, or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend the transfer of $200.00. Unanimous vote.


Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money towards installing and main- taining lights at Rock Harbor.


Recommend that no funds be appropriated. Unani- mous vote.


Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from unappropriated available funds in the treasury, a sum of money for Chapter 81 High- ways, or take any other action thereto.


Recommend the appropriation of $2,688.00 as the Town's share and $5,375.00 to be transferred from avail- able funds to cover the State's share which will be reim- bursed to the Town later. Unanimous vote.


Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from unappropriated available

funds in the treasury a sum of money for Chapter 90 High- ways Maintenance, or take any action in relation thereto.


Recommend the appropriation of $350.00 as the Town's share and $700.00 to be transferred from available funds to cover State's and County's shares which will be reim- bursed to the Town later. Unanimous vote.


Article 25. To see what sums of money shall be taken from available funds towards defraying the tax levy for 1945.


Recommend the amount to be taken be left in the hands of the Assessors. Unanimous vote.


Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of maintain- ing a recreation center in the Town Hall under supervision of a committee appointed by the Selectmen or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend the appropriation of the sum of $100.00. Unanimous vote.


Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for repairs on the Old Wind Mill, or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend the appropriation of the sum of $100.00 Unanimous vote.


Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the making and erecting of signs advertising the Town or take any action relative thereto.


Recommend the appropriation of the sum of $150.00 and the carrying out of this article be left in the hands of a committee appointed by the Selectmen. Unanimous vote.

Article 29. To see what rate the Town will pay for laborers and trucks for the ensuing year, or take any action thereto.


Recommend the rate of pay be 70c per hour for laborers, and $1.70 per hour for truck and driver. Unani- mous vote.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies thereof, at the packing house of Bernard C. Collins in South Eastham; at the barn of Harry W. Collins in South Eastham; at the Post Office in North Eastham, and at the Post Office in Eastham, seven days at least before the time of holding said Meeting as aforesaid. Hereof fail not and make due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of hold- ing said Meeting.
