William Hutchins married Sarah Haley 20 Feb. 1752 and had children Sarah and Eastman bapt. 19 Oct. 1755. Eastman Hutchins lived in Sanford and Alfred and d. 8 May 1826. He was a Revolutionary soldier.

A son, Stephen Jenkins, of Oyster River, married Elizabeth, dau. of John Dean. She and children Elizabeth, Stephen, John, Benjamin and Mary were bapt. by Rev. Hugh Adams, 20 March 1720.

Roland Jenkins married Tabitha Joy, 10 Feb. 1700. She was dau. of Ephraim and Susanna ( Chadbourne-Spencer ) Joy, born 25 Sept. 1677. She died 18 Feb. 1777. She was a preacher among the Friends. Some of the Jenkins family can best be accounted for as descendants of these. The following is merely a suggestion.

Another Samuel Johnson married Elizabeth, widow of John Rackliff and dau. of Thomas Trafton of York. She as his widow deeded land in York to her son, Joseph Johnson, 18 Oct. 1721. She was then of Kittery. See York Deeds X. 213. Joseph may have m. Hannah Dutteridge 19 Nov. 1721.
Another Samuel Johnson marred (1) Hannah, widow of James Grant of York. (2) Abigail, dau. of Peter Wittam about 1697 and lived north of Sturgeon Creek, (3) Amy Neal in 1706, as a court record shows. Children by second marriage were recorded : John b. 17 Oct. 1698, William b. 25 July 1701. See York Deeds, VI. 77. He and wife Amy signed a deed in 1745. Daughter Hannah m. John Stanley in 1745. Son Joseph was prob. the Revolutionary soldier who m. Phebe More 23 June 1773.
A Samuel Johnson married, 28 Nov. 1715, Elizabeth, widow of John Tinney and dau. of Christopher and Sarah (Andrews) Mitchell. She was living, a widow, 29 Jan. 1755. York Deeds, XXX. 313 and XI. 235.
JOHNSON.
James Johnson, born about 1643, was son of Edmund John- son and his wife Mary of Hampton, N. H. He married, 26 March 1675. Sarah Daniels, and died in Hampton 16 June 1715. Ile was a millwright and lived for a short time in York and Kit- tery. Widow died Jan. 1718.
His son Samuel, born 18 .Aug. 1678. married. 3 Nov. 1701, Elizabeth Haskins. See Dow's Hampton. He moved to Kittery and there married (2) 23 Dec. 1734. Mary, widow of Richard King. Will. 8 Feb. 1739-19 Nov. 1744. Left widow Mary and following children :
