Agreeably to a resolution of Assembly of the twenty-second instant, Council proceeded to the election of one field officer, two captains, and four subalterns of the Pennsylvania line, for the pur- pose of commanding the two companies of State troops provided for by the said resolution. Upon which, (the votes being taken,) it appeared that James Moore, Esquire, was appointed Major; James Chrystie and Philip Schrawder, Esquires, Captains ;
Blackall, William Ball, John Armstrong, Samuel Reid, and Andrew Henderson, Esquires, Lieutenants.
Resolved, That an order be drawn on the Treasurer in favour of Lieutenant Erb, for the sum of three hundred pounds specie, for the purpose of discharging the contracts entered into by Captain Schraw- der, for the supply of the Wyoming garrison, he, Lieutenant Erb, to be accountable ; to be paid out of the fund appropriated to the frontier defence.
Resolved, That Mr. Erb be directed to use all possible dispatch in proceeding to Wyoming with the aforesaid sum.
Letters from Daniel Montgomery, Samuel J. Atlee, and Lawrence Keene, Esquires, respectively, praying to be appointed Prothonotary of the county of. Northumberland, were read ; upon which, agree- ably to the order of yesterday, Council proceeded to the election of a person to succeed Matthew Smith, Esquire, in that office; and upon the votes being taken, it appeared that Lawrence Keene, Esquire, was duly elected.

Ordered, That the bond of Mr. Cadwallader Morris and the late James Hamilton, Esquire, as securities of William Hamilton, be cancelled.
A letter from William McCleery, Esquire, inclosing a memorial to this Board, was read.
A draught of instructions to Major James Moore, was read and approved.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of John Caro- thers, Esquire, late Lieutenant of the county of Cumberland, for the sum of one hundred and one pounds seventeen shillings and eight pence specie, being the ballance of his account as Lieutenant, to be paid out of the money arising from the militia fines of the said county.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of the said John Carothers, for the sum of fifteen pounds, being a debt assumed by the said Carothers to Charles Cooper, for sundry articles furnished. for public use ; to be paid out of the same fund as the above order.
The following orders were also drawn on the Treasurer in favor of Christopher Kucher, Esq'r, for the sum of thirteen pounds nine shillings and two pence, State money of the seventh of April, 1781, being the ballance due upon the settlement of his account as Sub- Lieutenant of Lancaster county ; to be paid out of the fund arising from the militia fines in the said county.
In favor of James Smith, Esquire, for two thousand three hun- dred and thirty-three pounds nine shillings and two pence specie, ballance of his account for provisions furnished to Samuel Lyon, Esquire, late Commissioner of Purchases, for public use; to be paid, according to the resolution of the General Assembly of the twen- ty-fourth instant, out of the duties which have arisen by the late impost laws, and not then appropriated.

A letter from Captain Robinson, inclosing a muster roll of his company and a return of ordnance stores at Wyoming, was read.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favour of Thomas Robinson, for the sum of one hundred pounds specie, on account of the, pay of himself and company ; to be paid out of the fund appropriated to the defence of the frontiers.
A return of Justices elected for the town of Pittsburg,'and a let- ter stating the particular circumstances of some of the gentlemen chosen, was read.
The following orders were drawn upon the Treasurer of the State, to wit :
In favor of Isaac Jackson, for forty pounds eleven shillings and six pence State money of the seventh of April, 1781, in full of principal & interest for a horse furnished by him for public pur- poses.

The other adjoining the above on the middle branch of Juniata, sold agreeebly to law, for one hundred and seventy pounds, containing three hundred and twenty-three acres, late the estate of Harvy Gor- don, an attainted traitor, forfeited to the Commonwealth of Penn- sylvania. Deeds dated the second of October, 1783.

An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of John Nichol- son, Esquire, Comptroller General, for seven hundred and fifty pounds, State money of the seventh day of April, 1781, for paying one-third of depreciation to the Pennsylvania line, agreeably to act of Assembly passed the thirteenth of April, 1782, said Comptrol- . ler to account.
The Honorable Dorsey Penticost, Esquire, sent in a resignation of his seat at this Board, which was read and accepted.

The record of the conviction of Pietro Giacobe Francisca Mesca and Mattes Brattelli, (for the murder of William Pickles, ) at the Court of Oyer and Terminer held at Philadelphia the twenty- second day of September last, was received and read, by which it appears that the said Pietro Giacobe, otherwise called Pietro Simone Francisco Mesca and Matteo Brattelli, are sentenced by the said Court, "to be hanged by the neck 'till they be severally dead." A petition from Giacoma Agnese in their behalf, was also read ; and the same being considered,
Ordered, That a warrant under the less seal of the State be is- sued for executing the said sentence upon them, the said Pietro Giacobe, otherwise called Pietro Simone Francisco Mesca and Matteo Brattelli, on Saturday the eighteenth instant, between the hours of ten of the clock in the forenoon, and two of the clock in the afternoon of the same day, at the usual place of execution.
Ordered, That the Sheriff of the city and county of Philadel- phia, be directed to call forth the posse cometatus of the said county, or a respectable part thereof, for the purpose of preserving peace and good order at the said execution.
Two orders were drawn on the Treasurer in favor of John Hays, Esquire, one for fifty-four pounds nine shillings and two pence, State money, and the other for seventy seven pounds twelve shil- lings specie, ballances of his account as late Sub-Lieutenant of Northampton county, to be paid out of the money arising from militia fines in the said county.

An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of John Nichol- son, Esquire, for two hundred and seventy-five pounds, ballance of his salary as Comptroller General 'till twelfth of October. 1783.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of the Honorable Dorsey Pentecost, Esquire, for fifteen pounds fifteen shillings specie, in full for his attendance in Council 'till the sixth instant inclu- sively.

In favor of Mr. Francis Bailey-two orders-one of them for one hundred and forty-nine pounds ten shillings specie, amount of his account for printing done by order of Council, and the other for fifty-one pounds fifteen shillings specie, for printing done for the Comptroller's office.
An order was drawn on the Treasurer in favor of Mr. Griffith Evans, for forty-five pounds twelve shillings and six pence specie, ballance of his accounts for eleven months' salary as Clerk to the Comptroller General, ending the fourteenth instant.
