June Weaver
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 1, in the Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura, for June Weaver, 86, of Bakersfield, who died Sunday in a Bakersfield hospital. Interment will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura.
Mrs. Weaver moved to Lake Isa- bella four years ago, then to Beverly Manor in Bakersfield three years ago. She was born In Chicago and in 1913 started a show business career that spanned 37 years.
She played in stock companies, vaudeville and in 12 movies for Republic Studios. Her act, the Weaver Brothers and Elviry (Mrs. Weaver's stage name) featured her and her husband, Frank, and his brother, Leon. They retired in 1950. Now all are dead.
"She was one of the last of the real old vaudeville troupers," said Loretta Torbett of Wofford Heights, Mrs. Weaver's daughter.
"She had a typical show business background."
Mrs. Torbett is the only survivor.

Born July 30, 1906, in Ogden, Utah, he was semi-retired, working part time at the Kernvale Club In Lake Isabella for the past eight years and had been previously employed at the Sportsman Inn in Kernville for eight to ten years.
He is survived by his widow, Joanle Van Benthum of Lake Isabella; his step-son, Richard C. Charboneau of Bakersfield; his sister, Christine Van Benthum of Bodfish; and his nephew Ellis Van Benthum of Bakersfield.

Nachant Company for 40 years in the general construction business. He had been a resident of Greenhorn for the past three months and had lived in California for the past thirty-five years.

Services were held Wednesday, December 28 in the Mish Funeral Home-Oildale for Willle B. Ott, Wof- ford Heights, a former resident of Oildale, 85, who died December 22, in his home. The Rev. Lloyd Naten of the San Diego Assembly of God Church officiated with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Ott, native of Oklahoma, lived in Kern County 23 years. He was retired from Civil Service with Edwards Air Force Base. He was a veteran of World War II, was a member of the Moose Lodge of Kernville and the Eagles Lodge of Kernville.

Skidmore Dies In Accident
A well-known valley man died Tues- day evening when his car crashed into the sandstone fence at KOA Kamp- ground on Highway 178 in Weldon. The accident marked the first fatality on local highways for 1978.
Okey Harold Skidmore, 58, of Wel- don was driving east on Highway 178 at about 6 :39 p.m. About one mile east of Shawnee Drive, his car ran off the road on the north side and headed into a large dirt turn off. The vehicle continued northeast for another 222 feet, finally colliding with the sand- stone wall at KOA.
California Highway Patrol officer Verbie Pierce reported that there was no apparent reason for the car to go out of control.
Skidmore was pronounced dead on arrival at Kern Valley Hospital at 7:20 p.m. He had been the manager of the Kern Valley golf course in Kernville for quite some time.
CHP public information officer said that at this time last year, five people had been killed on highways in the Kern River Valley.

Harry Bangerter
Services were held Tuesday, Jan- uary 17, at Valley Mortuary Chapel in Lake Isabella for Harry Lee Bangerter, 85, who died at Wadsworth Veterans Hospital in West Los Angeles January 12. Elks Lodge No. 2358 officiated the service and inter- ment followed at Kern Valley Cem- etery.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, June 10, 1912, he had been a civil servant electrician, employed by the United States government, for 34 years. He lived in Kernville for seven years, in California for 34 years, and spent the last six months of his life in Los Angeles County. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his brother, Frederick Bangerter of St. Joseph, Missouri; and his two sisters, Bertha Kaasjager of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mildred Schroeder of St. Joseph, Missourl.

Graveside services were held at Kern Valley Cemetery Friday, Jan- uary 13, for Okey Harold Skidmore, 58, of Weldon who died January 10 of a heart attack which resulted in a traffic collision on Highway 178 in Weldon. Rev. Mike Goodyear of the Kernville United Methodist Church officiated the service.
He had been a golf pro at the Kern Valley Golf Course In Kernville for seven years. He was a native of West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Doris and daughters, Marsha Kelpe and Sharon Tousseau, all of Weldon, and brothers, Huffman, Lancing and Bus Skidmore, all of West Virginia.

She was a housewife who resided at the Rock Haven Trailer Park In Wofford Heights for the past five years and lived in the state 50 years. She was born in Arkansas March 14, 1909, and was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II.

Born in Tomah, Wisconsin, April 2, 1891, she had been a resident of Havilah since 1934. She was an active member of the Havilah Centennial Group until she moved to Downey a little over a year ago, and had received special recognition for her efforts in preserving the heritage In the original Kern County seat.
She is survived by her sons, George B. Fluhart of Downey and Charles S. Fluhart of Havllah, four grandchild- ren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services were conducted at the Kern Valley Cemetery Friday, February 10, at 11 a.m. for Dean Robert Walters, 66, who died Febru- ary 8 at the Kern Valley Hospital. Rev. Hugh Power officiated.
Born April 14, 1911 in Ohio, he had been a refrigeration engineer for C. M. Robison Co. for 19 years. He had Lived in Lake Isabella and the state only 7 months.
He is survived by his widow, Margarte Walters of Lake Isabella; his sons, Robert Dean Walters and William David Walters, both of Columbus, Ohio; his daughters, patricia Walters of Mesa, Arizona, and Gladys Thorsen of Glendale, Arizona; his brothers, Richard Walters of Columbus, Ohio; his sisters, Ruth Callendery of Columbus, Ohio, and Helen Jones of Venice, Florida; and seven grandchildren.

Lois Stewart
Services were held at Valley Mort- uary Chapel in Lake Isabella Wednes- day, February 15, for Lois Vivian Funk Stewart, 67, who died at Kern Valley Hospital February 12. Rev. Hugh Power officiated the service and interment followed at Hillcrest Mem- orial Park in Bakersfield.
Born December 5, 1910, in Arkan- sas, she had been a waitress for 20 years with McCulloch Motors. She resided in Lake Isabella for the past 10 years and spent 25 in the state.
She is survived by her aon, Jamea Funk of Redondo Beach; two broth- ers, Harold Land and Roy Lane of Arkansas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Richard Rathburn
Services were held at St. Jude's parish Church Saturday, February 11, for Richard Rodney Rathburn, 73, who died at a Bakersfield hospital February 8. Father Mark Renner officiated and interment followed at Kern River Valley District Cemetery.
Born in Kansas February 10, 1904, he had been a butcher for 30 years and was last employed at McNally's Fair- view Lodge. He lived in Johnsondale for the past 13 years and resIded in California 30 years.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Shirley Clark of Trona, and three grandchildren.
