Dorothea Robbins
Private cremation services were held March 12, for Dorothea L. Robbins of South Lake Estates. Mrs. Robbins, born in Garfield, Utah In 1911 Uved most of her life in Callforrla where she raised a family and followed a 25 year career as a supervisor for the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. Mrs. Robbins is surviv- ed by her daughter Connie Brown of Lake Isabella, a son Harry V. Robbins of Santa Barbara, a Sister Edith of Palm Desert, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Ann Sefton
Graveside services were held Fri- day March 23 for Ann Marie Sefton of Bodfish. Reverend Myron B. Good- year, Pastor of the Kernville United Methodist Church officiated. Mrs. Sefton is survived by her husband Robert, a son Ronald, two brothers Ted and Jim Varady, father Edward Hodgson, mother Julie Nylund and stepfather Ardo Nylund. Mrs. Sefton was 46 years of age.

RUTH FORBES
Private services were held in San Diego for Ruth D. Forbes, 75, of Bodfish Conyon.
Ruth died in San Diego on March 12, 1979 after a very brief illness. She was born in Blanchard, a mining town in Arizona Territory, on February 17, 1904
She moved to California in 1910 where she worked , was married and raised her two children.
She moved to the Kern River Valley in 1968 and lived next door to her son in Bodfish Canyon.
Ruth is survived by her son. Lewis E. Forbes; her daughter, Ruth Mary Heckeroth; five grandchildren, Owen L. and Scott T. Forbes, Norma Jean Miller, Fred F. and Mark Heckeroth, one great grandson, Fred F. Hecker- oth a sister, Marie L. Mobley; a brother, John Krackenburger; and her very dear friend and companion for the past ten years, C. R. Malcolm.
CHESTER PULVER
Chester Ivan Pulver died Wed- nesday March 28, 1979 at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California. Graveside services were held Sat- urday March 31, 1979 at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery and Pastor Donald Roulsten of the United Methodist Church officiating. Mr.
Pulver had lived in the Valley for the last eight years. He was a retired boilermaker with the Gulf Oil company . He was a member of Gun Club. Mr. Pulver is survived by his wife Mildred M. Pulver of the family home in Wofford Heights. Also survived by his son Chester II Pulver of Lake- wood, Calif. Daughter Norma Rous- seau of Anaheim. A brother Elton V. Vigil services for Charles Joseph Whitson of Wofford Heights were held Tuesday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Garden Chapel, Woods Mortuary in Glendale, California. A Mass of Christian Burial was said on Wed- nesday, April 4, at 9 a.m. in Holy Family Church in Glendale.
Charles Joseph Whitson, 63, of 6624 Linda Avenue in Lake Isabella, died March 23 in a Bakersfield Hospital. He was a native of Sedalia, Missouri and had resided in Kern County for seven years. Prior to his retirement to the valley he was a warehouse foreman for the Trojan Company . He was a WWII veteran and a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Wofford Heights. Survivors include two sisters, Lor- etta Whitson of Lake Isabella and Barbar Rizzo of Monterey Park; a brother, Paul Whitson, four nephews and ten nieces.

A prominent member of our com- munity and a native son of Bakers- field, California-Arvin B. Coe, passed away at home March 28, 1979. Viewing and memorial service were held at Valley Mortuary Chapel April 3, Members of Lodge 251 International Order of Odd Fellows officiated.

Viola Hanley
Viola Hanley was laid to rest Monday April 9th in gravealde servic- es at the Kern Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Hanley was born in Aurora, Oregon in 1901, she had resided in Wofford Heights with ber husband James until his passing in 1977. Mrs. Hanley is survived by her sister Lorraine Simpson of Lytton British Columbia, Canada; her brother Carl King of Comox, B.C .; nephews Joe and Mich- ael McGuire of British Columbia; nieces Maureen Glenn of Kamloops; and Dallas Simpson of Lytton, both in British Columbia. Mrs. Hanley will be remembered by her dear friend Lillian Collins of Wotford Heights, other friends and neighbors. Officers and members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kern River Valley Chapter 643 officiated. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.
Carl Brink
Private cremation services were held Monday April 9th for Carl M. Brink. Mr. Brink was retired after. 21 years as a structural iron worker for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Mr. Brink is survived by his wife Phyllis of Bodfish, his father Walter Brink also of Bodfish; two sons Leon and Eugena residing in Southern California; and eight grandchildren. Services were held Friday April 6, in the Highland Methodist Church Lake Isabella for Harold W. Pollock, 61, who died April 3 in Mt. Mesa. Rev. Donald Roulsten officiated and inter- ment was in Kern River Valley District Cemetery, Wofford Heights. Mr. Pollock was born in Denison, Iowa and had made his home in Mt. Mesa the past year and had lived in California for 24 years. Mr. Pollock was laat employed by the Riverside School Dist., prior to that he had retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of military service. He is survived by his wife Wilma of Mt. Mesa; 1 step-son David Harvey of Benson, Iowa; 1 step-daughter Gloria Wyckoff, of Rosemead, Callf .; and 2 grandchildren. Services by Valley Mortuary, Lake Isabella.
Josephine Gunn
Josephine Gunn passed away Sun- day April 1, at Mirada Hills Convales- cent Hospital in La Mirada, Callfor- nia. Crematory services were per- formed by The Neptune Society. Her ashes were dissimenated over the mountains in Angelus National For- est.
Josie, as she was known by her many friends in the valley, was born November 9, 1918 in Allen Country, Indiana, and had lived in California since 1932. She and her husband Bob moved to Wofford Heights in 1971. She is survived by her husband Bob of Wofford Heights, their son Jon, a military career man, of Dugway, Utah, one grandson, and a sister, Mrs. Jane Murray of Fullerton, California.
Memorial prayers will be said fer Josie, on Easter Sunday, in churches across the nation from Tennessee to California.

She is survived by her husband Cary and son Bruce of Kernville; 2 grandchildren; and 2 great grand- children. Born in Syracuse, New York in 1886, Mrs. Hawkins was 92. Mary Cooper
Graveside Services were held Sat- urday April 14th for Mary B. Cooper of Wofford Heights. The Reverend Cameron W. Wilson of the First Assembly of God Church Sunnyvale, California officiated.
Mrs. Cooper has pursued a 40 year career as an executive secretary in the aircraft industry before moving to Kern County 17 years ago. Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband Richard E. Cooper of Wofford Heights, her sister Blanche Plater of Kernville. One Daughter Sandra K. Dargert of Canoga Park, Calif. and 5 Grandchildren. Mrs. Cooper had also been an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services were conducted by Valley Mortuary.

Louis H. Hurm died May 9, 1979 in Bakersfield, California, Graveside services were held Saturday May 12, 1979 at 1 p.m. at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery. Cleone Shaw
Services were held for Cleone Lavina Shaw on Wednesday May 2, 1979 at 10 a.m. at the Valley Mortuary Chapel in Lake Isabella. She was born in Camarillo, California on March 6, 1904 and lived in Kern County for 38 years. Her home at the time of her death was off of the Caliente-Bodfish Road In Havilah. She has been a school teacher for 27 years.
Her last teaching position before retiring was at the Woodrow Wallace Grammer School. She is survived by her husband Frank W. Shaw of Havilah. A son Arthur Avery of Torrance, Calif. Her sister Ellen Blockman of Yucaipa, Calif. Three Grandchildren and one Great Grand- child. Funeral Services were conduct- ed by Reverend Hugh Puwer and were followed by interment in the Kern River Valley District Cemetery.
Hazel Soeffner
Hazel Ohve Soeffner passed away Tuesday, May 1, at the Kern Valley Hospital. She has lived on the Bodfish Creek Road in Bodfish for the last nine years. Services were held Saturday, May 5, at the Free Methodist Church in St. James, Illinois. Interment followed at the Stein Cemetery in St. James. She is survived by a daughter, Helen M. Diaz of Florida. Two brothers, Harold Sapp of Michigan and Ralph Sapp of Illinois. Three sisters, Grace Kepner and Jennie Bosonworth of lltinois and Rose Guardo of El Monte, California. Seven grandchildren and great grand- children.

Services for George Leruy Eaton were held Monday May 1, 1979 at 10 a.m. at the Valley Mortuary Chapel. The services were conducted by the Reverend G.L. Johnson of the Peoples Church in Fresno. Graveside services for Ethel Erick- son were held Tuesday May 1, 1979 at 1 p.m. at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery. Ed Landers, Minister from the Church of Christ officiated. Mrs. Erickson resided at 2740 Caliente-Bod- fish Road in Bodfish and lived there for the last four years. She is survived by her daughter Louise Fletcher of Bodfish. Two brothers Ervin and Carr Hawley both of Texas. Six sisters, Agenes Gibson, Kate Forrest, Allene Burrows, Ida Mae Sikes, and Mabel Sikes all of Texas and Ruth of Alaska. Four Grandchildren, Patricia and Lorrie Jones of Oregon, Lana Patton of Tustin, Calif. and Susan Harris of Bodfish. Four Great Grandchildren, Brian, Lorene and Lori Jones of Oregon. Christie Jett and Julle Patton of Tustin, California.
Thomas McCambridge
Thomas M. McCambridge former resident and co-owner of McCam- bridge Lodge of Kernville passed away May 14, at Palomar Hospital in Escondido.
Rosary was recited at Allen Bros. Mortuary on Wednesday evening and a Memorial Mass on Thursday morn- ing at St. Marks Catholic Church, San Marcus, Calif., with Rev. Father Curtis and Extraordinary Ministers Fox and Wirth officiating.
Mr. McCambridges niece, and God child, Sister Barbara Boudreau of the Holy Name Order of San Gabriel, Calif. gave the Eulogy.
Tommy is survived by his wife Virginia and a sister, Margaret Boudreau of Pasadena, Calif.
Donations are being given to the Cancer Fund in his name in lleu of flowers.

Floyd Ellis Williamson died May 18, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital in Mt. Mesa, California. Mr. Noles was a veteran of WW II where he served with the Seabees. He had worked 24 years as an ordinance technician for the Navy at China Lake NWC. Mrs. Eure
Mrs. Eure died May 25, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital. Graveside ser- vices were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kern River Valley District Ceme- tery, with Pastor Stephen Nagler officiating. Mrs. Eure lived at 118 Pioneer Place, in Bodfish. She has been In the valley for the last 8 years and was a member of the Lady Elks, and the Ileostomy Association. She is survived by her husband Charlie of Bodfish, 2 daughters Floy Beedie of San Bernardino, Calif. and Rose Calderon of West Covina, Calif. One brother Fred Pace of North Fork, Calif. and a sister, Katherine Hasen- eratz of Los Angeles and 2 Grand- children.

Estell MeKnight was born in Rock- more, Georgia on July 14, 1902 and died May 26, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital. She has lived in the Bodfish area for the last 12 years. Services were held at 10 a.m. at the Valley Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Hugh Power officlating. Interment at the Kern River Valley District Ceme- tery followed. She is survived by her husband Joe of Bodfish and her son Bennie Reynolds of Arkansas and two brothers.

Bruce C. Hawkins died May 27, 1979 in a Los Angeles Veterans Hospital. Mr. Hawkins was born in Syracuse, New York August 14, 1917. Mr Hawkins had been a photographer for 30 years. He and his wife Margie lived in Kernville. Mr. Hawkins is also survived by his father Cary Hawkins of Kernville. 2 Daughters Lori McMahan of Sacramento and Robin Villers of Pasa Robles and 2 Grand- children. Services were held Wednes- day May 30, 1979 at the Kernville Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Goodyear officiating. Interment was in the Kern River Valley District Cemetery

Dortha I Murphy of 214 Vista Grande Rd. In Weldon died Friday June 1, 1979 in a Bakersfield Hospital. She had lived here in the Valley for the last 10 years. She is survived by her husband Rolly of Weldon. One step- daughter Margarie Shidley of Santa Rosa, Calif. and one sister Racel Lance of Bishop, Calif. Graveside services were held in Kern River Valley District Cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 5, 1979. The Reverend Donald Roulsten officiated.

Ezio Gia died June 1, 1979 in a Bakersfield Hospital. Graveside ser- vices were held Wednesday, June 6, 1979 at Il a.m. at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery. Mr. Gia has lived in the Bodfish area for the last 21 years. Prior to that he lived in Bakersfield where he was a Machinist for 25 years with the Southern Pacific Railroad. Gustav Symanzik of Wofford Heights, California, died June 2, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital. Gus has lived in the Valley for 30 years. He and his wife Zelma lived at the Jessie James Trailer Park. Graveside ser- vices were held Wednesday June 6, 1979 at the old Kern River Valley District Cemetery with the Reverend Mike Goodyear officiating.
August Dechant
August 'Gus' Dechant passed away on May 15, 1979 at the Delano Convalescent home. He was born in 1895 in Belguim, Germany and came to the United States in 19U. He came to the valley fifteen years ago.
Cremation services were held May 16, 1979. There were no survivors.

Richard Storm
Richard Thomas Storm was born May 21, 1920 in a rural area near Carson, Iowa. He grew to manhood in this and the Macedonia area, attend- ing the Macedonia Schools. He enter- ed the U.S. Navy July 15, 1942 and served through October, 1945. He was united in marriage to Lora L. Bolton un March 10, 1943. They relocated to California in April 1951, and had lived in El Segundo since that time, but were in a transition period relocating to a Lake Isabella home.
Mr. Storm was active during much of his life time in the Masonic Lodge and served as Associate Guardian In Jobs' Daughters. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Segundo and was especially interest- ed in youth activities. Above all, he was an outstanding husband and father.
He Is survived by his wife, Lora L. Storm; a son, Stephen Storm of El Segundo and a daughter, Shirley Smoot of Torrance; two grandsons, Russell Storm and Matthew Smoot; and a sister, Marjorie Price of Lake Isabella.
Graveside services were held Tues- day June 12, 1979 at 1 p.m. at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery.
Primrose Schram
Funeral services for Primrose A. ( Peggy ) Schram were held Thursday June 14, 10:30 a.m. at the Kern River Valley Cemetery in Wofford Heights. Mrs. Schram was born in Watford Town, Hertfordshire, just north of London, England; one of nine child- ren Mrs. Schrain has lived with her late husband Jacob in Kern county for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Schram is survived by her sister Violet Draper of Wales, United Kingdom; her sister-in-law Agnes Rowles of Bakersfield; her niece Patricia Bonas of Bakersfield; nep- hews Gerald and Harry Rowles of Bakersfield and Michael Kowles of El Paso.
Mrs. Schram will be held in loving memory by 20 other nieces and nephews. Peggy Schram was born October 7th, 1899, she was 79 years old. Services by Valley Mortuary.

Services were held Wednesday June 13, 1979 at the Kern River Valley District Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Reverend Hugh Power officiating. Mr. llarkness who was born July 19, 1910 in Red Key, Indiana, lived in the Valley for the last 10 years Prior to that he was a service station operator in Bishop and the los Angeles area. His home was 326 Harmony Lane in Onyx. He is survived by his wife, Martha and one sister Fern Runion of Indiana.
Ray McPherson
Raymond Leslie McPherson ex- pired at Kern Medical Center on June 6, 1979. He lived in Tulare County many years and attended high school at Johnsondale. He belonged to the International Union of Operating Eng- ineers and worked on the Isabella Dam from start to completion and followed his trade all over the Northwest until his retirement in 1976. Services were held at Kern River Valley Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday.
Raymond is survived by one son. Patrick McPherson, 3-daughters, Cindy McPherson, Leslle Rames, and Susan Ventura, all of Lancaster, Calif. Also 3-grandchildren, and his mother, Bessie McPherson, of Weldon. Four sisters, Roberta Greenwood, Kern- ville; Anita Mitchell, Lake Isabella; Billie McCord, Alaska; and Frances Cooper, Salome, Arizona, One broth- er, Edmond McPherson, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Emma L. Raymond William Harness
Mrs. Emma L. Raymond, age 84, died on June 16, 1979 in Sylmar, California, at Mt. View Convaleacant Hospital.
Utter Mckinley Funeral Home Church Services-St. Ferdinand's in San Fernando.
Buried in Resurection Cemetery in Montebello, California.
She is survived by two son's Roland Raymond of Monrovia, Calif. and Arthur Raymond, three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Bachand of San Fernan- do, Ann Asselin and Trudy Taylor of Lake Isabella, 12 grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 26 great grand children. She had lived in Lake Isabella prior to entering the conva- lescent hospital with her daughter Trudy Taylor of Lake Isabella.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters, Letha Taie of Bellflower, and Lorraine Thurman, Denaire, Calif .; three sisters, Virjean Thomas, Bodfish, Charlotte Hayes, Santa Ana, and Arlene Burris, Whittier; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that any remembrances be made in the form of donations to the City of Hope, Duarte, Calif .; for the benefit of Val's sister Charlotte Hayes who is a cancer patient there.
Funeral aervices were held Wednes- day, June 13 at the Kern River Valley Cemetery for William Henry Harness. Born July 19, 1910 in Red Key, Indiana, died June 11, 1979 at the Ridgecrest Community Hospital.
Mr. Harness had lived in the Kern River Valley for the past 10 years; prior to that he was a service station operator in Bishop and in the Los Angeles area. He Is survived by his wife Martha of Onyx and one aister, Fern, of Indiana.
Valera C. Pryor
The valley is mourning the passing of Valera C. Pryor who died Wed- nesday, June 13, after a long and courageous battle against illness.
The most gentle and gracious Val was the beloved wife of Charles E. "Scoop" Pryor, well known local contractor.
Val was born Oct. 21, 1913 in Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Beller.
She and Scoop were married June 19, 1930 in Whittier, Calif. and moved to the Kern River Valley in 1957 where they have been residents for the past 22 years.
Funeral services were held at Valley Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, June 16. The eulogy was delivered by Clyde Casper, a long time family friend.
Val was laid to rest at Kern Valley District Cemetery.
Elizabeth Garr
Elizabeth S. Garr of 214 Sirretta St. in Kernville died Saturday June 23, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital She was born on July 9, 1896 in Salem, Indiana. Private graveside services were held Tuesday, June 26, 1979, at the Kern River Valley District Ceme- tery with the Reverend Ben Bills officiating, Mrs. Gart is survived by her husband, Russell of Kernville 2 daughters, Virginia Shnicberger of Northridge and Mary Noren, of Wofford Heights. A brother, Sayles Sands, of Yucca Valley, Calif., and 1 sister, Margaret Keck, also of Yucca Valley.
Jessie Cornelison
Private services were held for Jessie M. Cornelison Thursday June 21, 1979. Mr. Cornelison who lived in the Royal Oaks trailer park and in this area for the last 14 years, died on June 20, 1979 at the Kern Valley Hospital. He was an investigator for the District Attorney's office in Riverside County and prior to that he was with the Los Angeles Vice squad. He was an expert with all kinds of fire arms and a member of the local Rod & Gun Club. He is survived by his daughter. Winnefred Treas, of San Bernardino, 2 brothers, Garrett of Vacaville and Elmo of Sun City, Arizona, his sister, Pearl Kerian, of long Beach. 4 Grandchildren and 11 great grand- children.
