TOWN MEETING WARRANT.


COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS, NORFOLK, SS.


To HENRY H. FRANCIS, or either of the Constables of the Town of Randolph, in said County, GREETING :


You are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town of Randolph, qualified to vote in town affairs, to assemble at Stetson Hall, in said town, on Monday, the seventh day of April next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, namely : ---


ART. 1. . To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all such town officers as towns are by law authorized and required to choose at their annual meeting. Also a trustee for Stetson School Fund.


ART. 3. To raise such sums of money as may be deemed neces- sary for the support of schools, and appropriate the same.


ART. 4. To raise such sums of money as may be thought proper for repairs of school buildings and incidental expenses of schools.


ART. 5. To decide on the amount of money required to defray the general town expenses for the ensuing year, and make appro- priation thereof.


ART. 6. To raise such amount of money as may be deemed ad- visable for the reduction of the town debt, and make appropriation for the same.


ART. 7. To raise money for the repairs of highways, and deter- mine the manner of expending the same.


ART. 8. To see what action the town will take in relation to engines and the pay of engine-men, and raise and appropriate money for the same.

ART. 9. To see what action the town will take in relation to the construction of reservoirs, as recommended by the engineers.


ART. 10. To see what action the town will take in relation to placing bells upon the engine-houses, as recommended by the engineers.


ART. 11. To see if the town will accept the list of jurors, as pre- pared by the Selectmen, and posted according to law.


ART. 12. To see if the town will make an appropriation for the decoration of soldiers' graves under the direction of Capt. Horace Niles Post 110.


ART. 13. To see if the town will authorize the treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of taxes.


ART. 14. To see what action the town will take in relation to the widening and building of South Street, as ordered by the County Commissioners, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


ART. 15. To see what action the town will take in relation to the widening and building of Mill Street, as ordered by the County Commissioners, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


ART. 16. To see if the town will instruct and authorize the Selectmen to repair, widen, and build that portion of North Street lying between Mill Street and Liberty Street, as laid out by the County Commissioners, and make an appropriation therefor.


ART. 17. To see if the town will adopt by-laws respecting habitual truants and vagrant children, as required by law.


ART. 18. To see what action the town will take in relation to providing a paid police for the ensuing year.


ART. 19. To see what action the town will take in relation to raising and making an appropriation for the Turner Free Library ; also, to see if the town will appropriate the money received for dog licenses for the ensuing year to the use of said library.


ART. 20. To see what action, if any, the town will take relative to medical attendance upon the poor for the ensuing year.


ART. 21. To see if the town will authorize and appoint the Selectmen to be agents and attorneys for the town, to prosecute, defend, compromise, and settle any and all suits and proceedings in

which the town may be in any way engaged or interested as a party, or otherwise, for the ensuing year.


ART. 22. To see if the town will authorize the collector of taxes to use the same means which a town treasurer may use when acting as collector.


ART. 23. To see if the town will authorize the collector of taxes to charge interest at the rate of six per centum per annum on all taxes remaining unpaid on and after October 10, 1879.


ART. 24. To hear reports of committees and act thereon.


ART. 25. To act on any other business which may legally come before said meeting.


And you are directed to serve this warrant, by posting attested copies thereof at five or more public places in said town seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the town clerk, on or before the day and hour ap- pointed for said meeting.
