TOWN MEETING WARRANT.


COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS,


NORFOLK, SS.


To either of the constables of the Town of Randolph in said County, GREETING :


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Randolphi, qualified to vote ir. town affairs to assemble at Stetson Hall, in said town, on Monday, the seventh day of April next, at 7 o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :


ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said Meeting.


ART. 2. To choose all such town officers as towns are by law authorized and required to choose at their annual meet- ing ; also one trustee for Stetson School Fund for three years, and one water commissioner for three years.


ART. 3. To vote by ballot " yes" or "no" in answer to the question, Shall licence be granted for the sale of intoxi- cating liquors in this town ?


ART. 4. To hear the report of the several town officers, and act thereon.


ART. 5. To raise such sums of money as may be deemed necessary for the support of schools, and appropriate the same.


ART. 6. To raise money for the repairs of highways, and determine the manner of expending the same.


ART. 7. To see what action the town will take in relation to purchasing a stone crusher, and raise and appropriate money therefor.


ART. 8. To raise money to defray the general town ex- penses for the ensuing year, and make appropriations there- for.


ART. 9. To see what action the town will take in regard to engines and pay of engine-men, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


ART. 10. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to establishing an electric fire alarm system, and raise and appropriate money for the same.

ART. 11. To see if the town will make an appropriation for the decoration of soldiers graves under the direction of Capt. Horace Niles Post No. 110, G. A. R.


ART. 12. To see what sum of money the town will raise and appropriate for the payment of interest on the Randolph Water Loan.


ART. 13. To see what sum of money the town will raise and contribute to the sinking fund, as required by law to meet the payment of the Randolph Water Loan when due.


ART. 14. To see what sum of money the town will raise and appropriate for water for hydrants, street service, public buildings and drinking fountains.


ART. 15. To see what action the town will take in relation to repairs on Stetson Hall building as recommended by the trustees, and raise and aypropriate money therefor.


ART. 16. To see what action the town will take in relation to the pay of town officers, and raise and appropriate money therefor, as petitioned for by A. L. Chase.


ART. 17. To see if the town will build a sidewalk on Cross Street from West Street to Grove Street, as petitioned for by Thomas Reilly and others, and raise and appropriate money therefor.


ART. 18. To see if the town will build a sidewalk on the northerly side of Union Street, from the residence of John Haney to the Holbrook line as petitioned for by Jackson Belcher and others, and raise and appropriate money there- for


ART. 19. To see if the town will instruct the selectmen to cause the removal of the building owned by Ebenezer Moulton on Moulton Street. outside the limits of the street, as petitioned for by Thomas Dolan and others, and raise and appropriate money therefor.


ART. 20. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to the order of the County Commissioners directing cer- tain alterations to be made on Liberty and North Streets, and raise and appropriate money therefor.


ART. 21. To see if the town will accept the location of Lafayette Street as laid out by the selectmen, as petitioned for by Seth Whittier and others, and raise and appropri- ate money to build the same.


ART. 22. To see if the town will authorize the treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, to borrow money in an- ticipation of taxes.

ART. 23. To see if the town will authorize and appoint the selectmen to be the agents and attorneys for the town, to prosecute, defend, compromise, and settle any and all suits and proceedings in which the town may be in any way inter- ested as a party or otherwise, for the ensuing year, except so far as the same relates in any manner to the water supply.


ART. 24. To see if the town will authorize and appoint the water commissioners to be the agents and attorneys for the town, to prosecute, defend, compromise, and settle any and all suits and proceedings in which the town may be in any way interested, as a party or otherwise, so far as the same relates in any manner to the taking of the waters of the Great Pond, or in the construction of the water works, either jointly or separately, as authorized under Chapter 217 of the Acts, 1885, and to employ counsel if necessary.


ART. 25. To see if the town will accept the list of jurors, as prepared by the selectmen, and posted according to law.


ART. 26: To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to providing electric lights for the public streets, and otherwise, and make appropriations therefor.


ART. 27. To see if the town will raise and appropriate five hundred dollars for special improvements, when the Business and Improvement Society expend an equal amount.


ART. 28. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to making an appropriation for the Turner Free Library as recommended by the trustees.


ART. 29. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to the pay of laborers employed by the town.


ART. 30. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to selling the hearse, owned by the town, also in rela- tion to funeral expenses.


ART. 31. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to sprinkling streets.


ART. 32. To see if the town will authorize the collector of taxes to use the same means which a town treasurer may use when acting as collector.


ART. 33. To see if the town will authorize the collector of taxes to charge interest at the rate of six per centum per an- num, on all taxes unpaid, on and after October tenth, A. D. 1890.

ART. 34. To see if the town will instruct the selectmen to appoint special officers to enforce the laws, and appropriate money therefor.


ART. 35. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to medical attendance on the poor for the ensuing year.


ART. 36. To see what action the town will take relative to purchasing that portion of the estate of the late Matthew Clark, that adjoins the town land, upon which Stetson Hall is located.


ART. 37. To hear and act on the report of any commit- tee, and choose any committee the town may think proper.


And you are directed to serve this Warrant by posting attested copies at five or more public places in said town, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.


Hercof fail not, but make due return of this Warrant with your doings thercon to the town clerk, on or before the time and hour of said meeting.
