TOWN OF RANDOLPH, MASS.

Report of the Selectmen and Overseers of Public Welfare

Every effort has been made by your Board in extending every co-operation to the various war efforts during the year. The members of the Rationing Board, Civilian De- fense Units, Red Cross, State Guard Randolph Unit, Victory Committee, War Savings Committee, Salvage Committee, Emergency War Board, Boy and Girl Scouts, Community Chest and War Fund Committee and other organizations have given untiringly of their time and efforts in the va- rious home-front activities.

On October 16th the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anni- versary of the incorporation of our Town was held with a parade and suitable exercises to commemorate the occasion. Mr. Walter F. Stephens ably headed the committee and much credit is due him and his most efficient committee for the success of the occasion.

The impressive Honor Roll sponsored by the Victory Committee was dedicated in conjunction with the Anniver- sary Exercises.

Over 800 of Randolph's finest men and women are now serving in defense of the Four Freedoms and we sin- cerely pray that this year will bring an end to the terrible conflict and that they may return safely to their home town. The Veterans Rehabilitation Committee has been appointed to aid in every way possible the returning veterans and their families.

Because of the physical condition of the building, which would necessitate heavy expense to the Town, the garage on South Main Street owned under Tax Title was sold to the highest bidder on Dec. 8, for the sum of $3025.00.
