VOTED: To appoint a committee of three, com- posed of the Board of Selectmen, to take whatever action necessary to purchase, or take by eminent domain, the land under the No. 2 Engine House.
VOTED: That a committee be appointed by the Moderator that shall include twenty-five (25) citizens, ten (10) of these to be business men between Crawford Square and the Railroad Bridge, and the Planning Board, to be known as the Business Center Parking and Traffic Committee said Committee to study parking and traffic problems in the area of Crawford Square to Depot Street, and to make recommendations to the Board of Selectmen if any changes are desired in the existing Parking Rules.
VOTED: That a Committee composed of the Presi- dent of the PTA Council, the Presidents of all Parent Teachers Associations in Randolph, the Board of Select- men, The School Committee, the Superintendent of Schools, the Board of Assessors be appointed to be known as the Public Building Sites Committee to study locations for future new Public Buildings, said Board to submit their recommendations not later than December 15, 1948 so their report may be published in the Annual Town Report for 1948.
VOTED : That a Committee of four (4) composed of the members of the Board of Selectmen and the High- way Surveyor be appointed to petition the Department of Public Works, or the Legislature if necessary, to have the Commonwealth of Massachusetts take over that part of North Main Street from Crawford Square to the Railroad Bridge north of Depot Street, and also to petition that this highway be widened for a distance of twenty (20) feet, at the expense of the Commonwealth.

VOTED UNANIMOUSLY: That a committee be appointed to be known as the Bus Zone Extension Com- mittee to petition the Trustees of the Eastern Massachu- setts Street Railway Company to extend the present fare zone from Pond Street to the Quincy Line, and from Center Street to the Avon Line, and that the Committee be composed of : Theodore S. Luddington.

Article 8. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY : That action under this article be indefinitely postponed.
Article 9. VOTED : That the town authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to appoint any of their members to another office or position under their control, and fix the salaries in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 36, Acts of 1929.
Article 10. VOTED: That the sum of $20.00 be raised and appropriated for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Congregational Church.
Article 11. VOTED : That the sum of $20.00 be raised and appropriated for the maintenance and lighting of the clock in the tower of the First Baptist Church.
Article 12. VOTED: That the sum of $2080.00 be raised and appropriated for the maintenance and upkeep of Town Hall, as petitioned for by the Trustees of the Stetson School Fund.

Article 13. VOTED : That the Building Laws be not accepted, and that a committee of ten (10) be appointed by the Moderator to include Mr. Sidney Tucker and Mr. Morton Copeland, and said committee to submit their re- port and be published in the 1948 Town Report.
Article 14. VOTED : That the sum of $1000.00 be- raised and appropriated to take care of that portion of the work that is necesary this year, and that this amount be transferred from the E. & D. Account.
Article 15. VOTED : That Articles 15 and 16 be considered jointly.
Article 16. VOTED : That the sum of $5,000.00 he raised and appropriated and used under the direction of the School Committee, the Superintendent of Schools, six members of the Parent Teacher's Asociations, and three other persons to be appointed by the Moderator on the recommendation of the School Committee, the Superin- tendent of Schools and six members of the Parent Teachers Associations for the purpose of making an Educational and Physical survey of the immediate needs of the schools of the town, expense of printing and necessary layout and sketches for future buildings, alterations and additions, and that this amount be transferred from the E. & D. Account.
