The purpose of this committee is to report at a Special Town Meeting the Ways and Means of carrying out the building recommendations of the School Survey. Mr. Clark Freeman reported that Dr. Charles E. Reeves of Griffen- hagen & Associates had completed his survey of Ran- dolph Public Schools. This report is so lengthy that a brief summary of the findings were made up in pamphlet form, and distributed with Annual Town Reports, and six bound, unabridged editions were made up. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Report of the committee appointed to petition the Department of Pub- lic Works or the Legislature if necessary, to have the Com- monwealth of Massachusetts take over the part of North Main Street from Crawford Square to the Railroad Bridge north of Depot Street, and also to petition that this high- way be widened for a distance of twenty (20) feet, at the expense of the Commonwealth be accepted.
VOTED UNANIMOUSLY: That as a committee has not already been appointed, a committee of ten (10) be appointed by the Moderator to look into Sites of Public Buildings.
VOTED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Board of Select- men be instructed to take some action on obtaining land under No. 2 Fire Engine House and report at an early date.
VOTED: That a committee of five (5) be appointed by the Moderator to make necessary investigation to see what action can be taken to abolish the manufacture of fire- works in Canton on the Randolph Line.

Article 10. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY : That the sum of $1630.00 be raised and appropriated for the maintenance and up-keep of the Town Hall, as petitioned for by the Trustees of the Stetson School Fund.
Article 11. VOTED UNANIMOUSLY : To accept the Building Laws as published in the Town Report of 1948, and that the salary of the Building Commissioner be fixed by the Board of Selectmen. All fees collected to be turned in to the town.

Street layouts and street acceptances shall also be consid- ered by said Board. A report of recommendations shall be made to the Finance Committee by the Planning Board prior to said Special Town Meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING June 20, 1949
Article 1. VOTED: That the Town raise and ap- propriate the sum of $32,500.00 for the purchase of the fol- lowing parcels of land, located on the westerly side of North Main Street in the Town of Randolph and westerly from North Main Street and being more particularly designated as parcel 25 containing 5.65 acres, with building thereon, parcel 26 containing 1.7 acres, parcel 27 containing 7.50 acres, parcel 24 containing approximately 5,910 square feet, fronting on Highland Avenue, said parcels all shown on plan 150 on the Plans of the Assessors of the Town of Randolph and assessed to Sally Ward Crawford and Judith M. Crawford, as the site for the erection of a High School and Junior High School Building, and to meet said appro- priation the sum of $2,500 to be raised by taxation this year, and that the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of $30,000.00 and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 44, General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than twenty years from the date of issue of the first bond or note or at such earlier time as the Treasurer and Selectmen may deter- mine.

Article 24. VOTED: That the Town allow the Blue Hill Sand and Gravel Company to operate a non-sectarian cemetery, comprising about 80 acres of land, adjoining the northerly boundary of the Central Cemetery, now owned by the Blue Hill Sand and Gravel Company on North Street, in accordance with Chapter 114, General Laws, Section 34, as approved by the Randolph Board of Health.

Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Building Laws as published in the Town Report of 1948.
VOTED UNANIMOUSLY: To accept the Building Laws as published in the Town Report of 1948, and that the salary of the Building Commissioner be fixed by the Board of Selectmen. All fees collected to be turned in to the Town.
