ARTICLE 102. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain in fee, the dam behind the Weymouth Lumber Company, in South Weymouth, and the dam behind the house of Henry Godin, in East Weymouth, together with ease- ments which may be necessary in connection therewith, and for the repair or rebuilding of said dams, to help control floods, or take any other action in relation thereto.
MOVED by the Appropriation Committee:
No action.
Mr. Newton, Secretary of the Appropriation Committee, explained the reasons for the motion.
Comes now the question on the motion by the Appropriation Committee.
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED
The Chair recognized Mr. Edward M. Keohane who is now com- pleting nine years of service on the Appropriation Committee and cannot be reappointed under the By-Laws. The Town Meeting Members accorded generous applause to Mr. Keohane for his efforts.

The Chair commended the Appropriation Committee for their atten- dance record which, to his knowledge, was the highest ever known. The Chair stated that he was particularly grateful to the Chairman and Clerk of the Committee and the members who had made this attendance mark possible.
The Chair further expressed his thanks, and the thanks of the meet- ing to all committees which he had appointed.

ARTICLE 103. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to appoint a committee to make a study of common landing places on the tidal shores of the town in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 262 of the Acts of 1956, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Upon motion duly made by the Appropriation Committee, it was
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the Town vote to appoint a com- mittee of five to be appointed by the Town Moderator to make a study of common landing place or places on the tidal shores of the Town in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 262, of the Acts of 1956.
MOVED by Mr. Lane:
The commendation of the meeting to the Moderator for the fine manner in which he presided over this Annual Town Meeting, the longest in the history of the Town.
The Town Meeting Members expressed their approval and acceptance of Mr. Lane's motion by spontaneous standing applause.

CERTIFICATE OF CHOICE
At a meeting of the remaining town meeting members of Precinct 5 held at the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, March 27, 1957, a vacancy in the full membership of the Precinct was filled.
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. with 13 members present. Mr. Otto Mason was elected Chairman. Mr. Harry Fekkes was elected Clerk. The following names were placed in nomination:

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid quali- fied to vote in Town affairs to meet in the hall of the Weymouth High School on
MONDAY, THE TWENTY-NINTH DAY OF APRIL, 1957
at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely:
ARTICLE 1. (By Direction of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation, or otherwise, the sum of $400.00 for Veteran's Day and that the sum appropriated be expended by com- mittee set up under Article I, Item 32 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1957, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 2. (By Direction of Selectmen). That the Town vote to make available the sum of $1,144.00 previously provided for under Article 8 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1957 for the reconstruction of Seaver Road, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 3. (At Request of School Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation, or other

wise, for the purpose of preparing complete drawings and detailed specifi- cations for the construction of an addition to the Homestead School, con- sisting of three classrooms and a remedial reading room, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 4. (At Request of School Committee(. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation, or other- wise, for the purpose of preparing complete drawings and detailed specifi- cations for the construction of an addition to the Pond School, consisting of six classrooms and a remedial reading room, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 5. (On Request and By Direction of Selectmen). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxa- tion, or otherwise, for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or to take by right of eminent domain, in fee, for school purposes for a walkaway from the Ralph Talbot School to Great Republic Ave. and the northern end of Constitution Ave. in the vicinity of Red Jacket Rd., portion of land of Robert H. Hobbs, Trustee shown as Lots 1 and 73, Block 535, Sheets 46 and 47 and Lot 92, Block 573, Sheets 46 and 47 of the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth corrected to January 1, 1956, or taken any other action in relation thereto.
