Record of Primary Election September 15. 1936. Precinct 2. Town of Boxford. Meeting called to order and warrant read by Harry L. Cole. Deputy Clerk at seven o'clock A. M.


The ballot box was examined by the Precinct officers and the public, and found to be empty.


The ballot box was then locked and the key taken and held by the constable Der. F. W. Hopping, the register indicated 000. The polls were opened at 1o'clock A. M. At 2.30 o'clock P.M. the polls were closed, the register indicating 107. The officers in charge of the check list announced the number of names checked to be 107 The ballots were then taken from the ballot box and and audibly counted one by one, and the whole number was found to be 107

1936. Presidential and State Election.


State Election Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1936. Agreeably to the foregoing Warrant the voters met at the Town Hall Boxford, and cast their ballots for the following named candidates and questions. The polls opened at Seven A. M .


The meeting was opened by the Warden Joseph B. Mattheus.


The ballot- box was opened and shown to be empty the closed, locked and the key placed in. the hands of Constable Richardson, The polls closed at 2 P.M. The ballot-box then registered. 2.36 The check-list showed the number of votes cast 236. The ballots were counted, publicly declared and recorded as follows.

Record of Precinct 2 Town of Boyford, National and State Election, Tuesday November 3 rd 1936


In accordance with the requirements of the warrant issued by the Selectmen, dated October fourteen 1936 the inhabitants of Precinct 2 Town of Boxford, qualified to vote in elections met in Lincoln Hall on Tuesday November 3, 1936.


The warrant was read by Harry L. Cole Deputy Clerk The ballot box after being examined by the Precinct Officers and the public was found to beempty, it was then locked and the key taken and held by George W. W. Hopping, the Constable in attendance.


the register indicatidag 000 At seven o'clock A.M. the presiding officer called upon those persons qualified to vote in elections , to bring in their ballots for the purposes expressed in the warrant.


At 2 o'clock P.M. the polls were closed, the register indicating 159. The officers in charge of the check lists then proceeded to count the names checked on said lists, and found the whole number to be 158.


The ballet box was then frened and the ballots taken therefrom and audibly counted one by one in the presence of the Precinct officers and the public and the whole number was found to be .

In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 54 of the General Laws, the Town Clerks of Danvers, Middleton, Topsfield, and Boxford, said Towns comprising the Seventh Essex Representative District, met at 12 o'clock noon on Friday, the Thirteenth day of November, 1936, in the office of the Town block of Danvers, the place designated for such meeting, for the purpose of examining and comparing the transcript of returns, to ascertain what person was elected to represent said district in the General Court of the Commonwealth,


The certified returns of the Town of Danvers, Middleton, Topsfield, and Boxford were examined and compared and the result was found to be as follows : to wit ,

1937.


At a Legal Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Bokford, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, held in Lincoln Hall, West Boxford, on Monday, March 1, 1937, it being the annual town meeting, the following record was made" The meeting was called to order and the warrant read by the Moderator, William f. Greenler.


The Ballet Box was inspected and found to be empty, and then locked, and the keys placed in The hands of the Constable. George J. W. Hopping, the officer in charge.


The Ballot Bux registered 000 at the opening.


4 130 .. .. close of polls. The check lists showed that 131 names wer checked The Polls were opened at 8-30 o'clock A. M. and closed at 12-40 P.M. Whole number of Ballots cast was 131.
