Agreeable to the fore going warrant the voters of Precinct one met at the Town Hall, Boxford, Mass. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1938 at 7:00 A.M. and cast ballots as listed below. The polls were opened at 7:00 A. M. by the Warden Jos B. Matthews. The ballet boy was opened and shown to be empty, then closed, locked and the key placed in the hands of Constable Leo Richardson.

Record of Primary Election September 20, 1938. Precinct two, Town of Boxford Meeting called to order and warrant read by Arthu A. Anger at seven oclock A.M.


The ballot boy was examined by the Precinct Officers and the public, and found to be empty. The ballot box was then locked and the key taken and held by the constable, George R. W. Hopping, the register indicating 000

The Meeting was called to order and the Warrant read by the Moderator, William J. & reenless


Voted to transfer $250,00 from General Receipts to the Lund and Morse Estates Account.

$, 25,000= total estimated cost of said school; and that the treasurer with the approval of the selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow the sum of 13,750., and to issue bonds or notes therefor, under the authority of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, and chapter 50 of the acts of 1938, said bonds or notes to be payable in not more than 14 years,

That The Chair appoint a committee of seven to be known as the School house Building Committee; That said committee is hereby granted full authority to select and employ an architect and select plans, to advertise for bids for and make contracts for. and to supervise the construction and equipment of a two classroom and recreation room school building on the present Gardner Morse School- house lot, said schoolhouse building committee to function only in the event that a Federal Grant of Eleven thousand two hundred fifty(1,250.00) dollars is obtained by the town and the sum defars Thirteen Thousand seven hundred fifty (13, 750 . 00), is raised and furnished by the town, the total cost of building and equipment of said schoolhouse to be kept within the sum of Twenty-five thousand (25,000.00) dollars : That said schoolhouse building com- mittee is hereby granted full authority after said Federal Grant is made to deal with Federal authorities in all matters pertaining to said grant and to construction of said schoolhouse; that said com- mittee is hereby authorized to designate one of their number as the official correspondent for the Town of Boxford, as required by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works.

Precinct 2.


Record of Precinct 2, Town of Boxford, National and State election, Tuesday November 8th 1938.


In accordance with the requirements of the warrant issued by the Selectmen, dated October 21 st, 1938. The inhabitants of Precinct 2, Town of Boxford, qualified to vote in elections, met in Lincoln Hall on Tuesday, November 8, 1938. The warrant was read by Harry L. Gale Deputy Clerk, The ballet box after being examined by the Precinct officers and the public, was found to be empty. It was then locked and the key taken and held by George R. W. Hopping, the Constable in attendance, the register indicating 000.


At seven o'clock A. M. the presiding officer called upon those persons qualified to vote in elections, to bring in their ballots for the purpose expressed in the warrant. At 2 o'clock P. M. the polls were closed, the register indicating 147. The officers in charge of the check lists then proceeded to count the names checked on said lists, and found the whole number to be 14%


The ballot box was then opened and the ballots taken therefrom and audibly counted one by one in the presence of the precinct officers and the public and the whole number was found to be . The precinct officers then proceeded to count the votes received, with the following results.
