Record of Precinct Two Town of Boxford National and State Election, Tuesday November eighth nineteen hundred and thirty two.


In accordance with the requirements of the warrant issued by the Selectmen, dated October 27, 1932, the inhabitants of Precinct Two, Town of Boxford qualified. to vote in elections and town affairs met in Lincoln. Hall, on Tuesday November 8th 1932,


The warrant calling the meeting was read by the Precinct Clerk. The ballot box after being examined by the Precinct officers and the public was found to be empty . It was immediately locked and the key taken and held by George F.W. Hoping the Constable in alten- dance, the register indicating 000.


At seven o'clock A. M. the presiding officer called upon those persons qualified to vote in elections and town affairs to give in their ballots for the purpose expressed to the warrant.


At Two oclock 15 min. o clock in the afternoon the polls were closed the register indicating - The officers in charge of the check lists then proceeded to count the names checked on said lists and found the whole number to be 146


The ballot box was then opened and the ballots taken therefrom and audibly counted one by one in the presence of the officers present and the public and the whole number was found to be 146 The precinct officers then proceeded to count the votes received by each person and for other purposes specified in the warrant with the following result.

Seventh Essex Representative District In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 54 of the General Laws, the Town Clerks of W anvers, Middleton, Topsfield and Bokford, said Towns comprising the Seventh Essex Representative District, met at 12 o'clock noon on Friday, the eighteenth day of November A. D. 1932 in the office of the Town Clerk of hanvers, the place des- ignated for such meeting, for the purpose of examining and comparing the transcript of returns, to ascertain what person was elected to represent said district in the General Court of the Commonwealth.

Nov. 16th, 1932. office of Board of Registrars: The Registrare of Boxford Mass met this day for the purpose of a recount of votes cast at State electron in Prects ! and 2 in Boxford, Said recount being asked for on petition of Lot &MCNamaria on the vote for Senator in the 4th, Essex Senatorial district. The entire board of Registoars were present and at 3 o'clock P. M. started to count with the result the same as the original in all blacks except Block 4 in Precinct , where there was one ballot which was originally called a blank, which was claimed by Daris as a vote for him and by Mc Namara as a blank.


The Registrare will give Their decision on the ballot in disparte if it becomes necessary later.

The meeting was called to order at eight- o'clock in the forenoon and the warrant read by the Moderator, Chester Killans:

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Buford, Precinct I. June 13, 1933. Election of Delegates to a Constitutional Convention called to ratify or reject the following amend- ment to the Constitution of the United States, proposed by joint resolution of Congress.


Text of the proposed amendment


Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to The Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed Section 2. The Transportation or importation into any state, territory or possession of the united States for delivery or use thereins of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.


Sec. 3. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amend- ment to the Constitution by conventions in the several states, as provided in the constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the states by the Congress.
