1932. Presidential Primary Election, Darci 26.1932, Record of Precinct Two. Town of Boxford. Meeting called to order and warrant read by the Precinct Clerk at 7 o'clock a.m. Polls opened at seven o'clock and ten minutes a.M. after the ballot boy had been examined by the Precinct officers present and the public and found to be empty. The boy was then locked and the key held by George J. W. Hopping the Constable in attendance. The ballot boy registered 000. Det two o'clock in the afternoon the falls were closed the ballot-boy registering Thirty one (31).


The officers in charge of the check lists ounced the number of names checked to be Thirty one (31). The ballots were there removed from the ballot- box und audibly counted one by one and the whole number found to be thirty one (31). At a Special Town Meeting held in the Town Hall. Boxford, Mass, on Friday evening, May 6, 1932. the following record was made:


Meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock P.M. and the Warrant read by the Moderator, Chester Killam.


Art. 1. Voted


That the wages for the Elected Town Officers, who receive hay according to the time they work, be forty five cents (45) per hour, retroactive from the March Town Meeting, instead of a 20 per cent reduction, as suggested in the Budget.


Voted That the two elected salaried Town Officers, receive see pag 145' a ten per cent reduction, instead of twent per cent as suggested in the Budget; retroactive from the March Town Meeting.


The Collector of Taxes shall receive ? of one per cent of the collections and the Town Treasurer shall receive ninety dollars a year.)

That we accept a gift of One hundred dollars (100.) from Mr. Egreal Budnick, and not charge him a fee for each animal slaughtered, as provided under Sec. 120 A. of Chapter 94 General Laws, which section was adopted March 7, 1932 (see Page 152)

At a Special Town Meeting, held in Town Hall, Boxford, on Tuesday evening, August 30, 1932 at eight o'clock, the following record was made. Meeting was called to order at eight o'clock P.M. and the Warrant read by the Moderator, Chester Killar. To take up Article one.

Mr. John J. Chadwick and Mrs. E. Robert Little were chosen of the three doubtful members to complete the committee of ten

Agreeably to the foregoing warrant the voters met at the Town Hall and cast their ballots for the following candidates and questions.


The polls opened at 7 O'clock A.M.


The ballot box was opened and shown to be empty then closed, locked and the key placed in the hande of Constable Richardson.
