At a Special Town Meeting held in the Town Hall in Jenny 13 , 1940 Boxford, Thursday evening at 8 oclock, the following record was made viz :


Meeting called to order by the Moderator, William f. Greenter at 8 o'clock P.M. and the Warrant read.


Voted that the meeting go into recess and be resolved into a committee of the whole to discuss the School House question.


Superintendent & Perley Eaton, was granted permission to speakon the School House question.


Mr. Charles Morse, the Architect, was granted permission to speak on the School question.


An informal vote was taken , to raise and appropriate by bond issue, 7,500,00 in addition to the 20,00.00 appropriated at the last annual town meeting to build a new school house in the West Parish.


30 in favor, 12 opposed.


To resolve back into regular town meeting.


Moved to raise and appropriate by bond issue 7500.00 in addition to The 20000.00 appro- printed at the last annual town meeting to build a new School House in the West Parish, 34 voted in favor and 24 opposed. No vote, it requiring a two thirds vote,

June 18, 1940, a petition was filed with the Jour Clock. by E. Lawrence Cally, signed by 82 h egal Voters, asking the Selectmen to call a Town Meeting, to are of the town will vote to increase the bond issue, voted by the town at the annual town meeting held March 4, 1940, for a new School House in the West Parish.


The petition was submitted to the Registrars June 19, 1940, and approved by them June 19, 1940.

Record of State Primary Election. September 97, 1940. Precinct 2, Town of Boxford Meeting called to order and warrant read by arthur, S. Auger Warden at seven o'clock avm. The ballot box was examined by the Precinct officers and the public and found to be empty. The ballot box was then locked and the key taken and held by the Constable George F. W. Hopping the register indicating vwo. The falls were opened at 7 o'clock a.m. at 2 o'clock PM. the polls were closed, the register indicating

To amend the vote passed under Article 17, of the warrant for the Town Meeting held March 4, 1940, so as to read as follows:


To raise and appropriate $20,000 to build and equip a new school in the West Parish and to meet said appropriation that 1. 000 be raised in the tax levy of the current year and That the treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow 19,000, and issue bonds or notes of The town therefor in accordance with the provis- sons of Chapter 44, General Land, Said notes or bonds shall be due and payable in not more than tenyears. (Unanimous vote)

Agreeable to the foregoing warrant the voters of Precinct ", met in the Town Hall, Boxford, on Tuesday, November 5, 1940. and cast their ballots as listed below.


The polls were opened by the Warden, Jos. B. Matthews at 7:00 a.m.


The ballot box was opened, shown to be empty, closed. and the key placed in the hands of Constable Leo Richardson.
