STANLEY ERVIN MERRILL was b to Charles L. and Belle W. Bray Merrill in Dover May 1, 1885. In 1921 Mr. Stanley E. Merrill, together with his brother, Charles A. Merrill, and son, Omar D. Merrill, founded the Stanley E. Merrill Lum- ber Company. They operated a box mill, shingle mill, long lumber mill and a finish department until Omar died in July 1941, and the mill was destroyed by fire in Nov. 1941. The company rebuilt the long lumber mill that year. In 1938 they had built a long lumber mill on the shores of Ripo- genus Lake near the old Chesuncook dam and operated it in conjunction with their Dover-Foxcroft business. Mr. Merrill has always taken a very personal interest in his mill work and had built up a business of considerable propor- tions. In 1943 a New Hampshire concern bought both the Dover-Foxcroft and Ripogenus Dam mills from the Merrill Company and retained Stanley E. Merrill as manager of their Piscataquis County interests. HAROLD E. NUTTER, a truck driver, was b in Dover-Foxcroft Nov. 21, 1918, the s of Eugene S. and Rebecca Dwyer Nut- ter. He m Miss Kathleen Atherton, a g of Foxcroft Acad- emy, and she was b to John A. and Janice Burrill Atherton in Bangor June 6, 1925. Their ch: Janice F., b Aug. 19, 1945, and Jennifer M., b Nov. 28, 1946.
ERROL A. NUTTING was b in Ripley Feb. 10, 1901, the s of Mark A. and Justina Willard Nutting. He m Miss Myra Bell and she was b to Ai H. and Grace Dow Bell in Dover Aug. 30, 1903. ELAM FRANK OLSON, fireman in the Mayo mill of the Amer- ican Woolen Co., served in World War I 22 months, 18 months of which were overseas, and was honorably dis- charged in 1919. He is a charter member of the Monson American Legion. His parents were John E. and Gertrude Magdalena Olson and he was b in Monson June 14, 1889. Palmer belongs to the Odd Fellows. Both Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Palmer are well-known musicians, he being a cornet- ist and she a pianist, and they have played at many and varied occasions.
MRS GERTRUDE BERNICE PALMER was b in Sebec Sep. 14, 1899, the d of Winfield and Elizabeth Bradford Chase but was adopted as a small child and brought up by her paternal grandparents. She was g from Foxcroft Academy, also from Shaw's Business College in Bangor. She was m to Earl Thurston Palmer, who was b to Frank H. and the late Annie Loud Palmer in Dover-Foxcroft Mar. 12, 1901. Mr. Palmer was a grain and grocery merchant, active in public affairs and served his County of Piscataquis as Dep- uty Sheriff. He died May 30, 1939, leaving Mrs. Palmer with five ch: (1) Earl T., Jr., b Aug. 18, 1921, m Leone Dore and they have Edward Wilson Palmer; (2) Philip Franklin Palmer, b Aug. 16, 1922, m Florence Leighton and they have Russell Francis and Sheryl Ann; (3) Margaret Laurine Palmer, b July 29, 1923, m Eugene Goulette and they have

Laurine Victoria; (4th and 5th, twins) Gerald Warren Pal- mer and Geraldine Louise Palmer, b Jan. 22, 1927. Since Mr. Palmer's death Mrs. Palmer has fitted herself for lab- oratory technician work and is so employed at a local hos- pital. She is a Past Matron of the Eastern Star. The family is Methodist.
MARGARET ATKINS PARKER, b in Dover-Foxcroft Mar. 12, 1891, Joseph Batchelor Parker, b in Dover-Foxcroft Sep. 15, 1893, and Sylvia Louise Parker, b in Dover-Foxcroft Apr. 17, 1895, ch of George William Parker, b in Sebec June 30, 1866, and Annie Mabel Lyford, b in Dover-Fox- croft Aug. 22, 1867. George W. Parker was a cabinet maker in Dyer & Hughes' organ factory in Dover and in Morse's Mill in Bangor. In his spare time he made about 20 violins, two violas and a 'cello, and copied and restored antique furniture. He died in Berkeley, Calif., Nov. 30, 1928, where Mr. and Mrs. Parker had moved in 1925. Mrs. Parker, after g from Foxcroft Academy, attended Mount Holyoke College. She died in Albany, N. Y., Apr. 30, 1943. Both Mr. and Mrs. Parker were members of the Methodist Epis- copal Church in Dover-Foxcroft, Bangor and Berkeley, Calif. Margaret A. Parker g from Bangor High school in 1910 and Shaw Business College in 1916. Joseph B. Parker g from Bangor High school in 1911 and the University of Maine in 1915. He served in naval aviation in World War I and is dairy extension specialist in the United States De- partment of Agriculture. He m Eva M. Clark of Portland. Joseph B. Parker, Jr., was b in Laurens, South Carolina, in 1920. He g from Cornell in 1942. He m Marion Love- land Sep. 1, 1942. He served in World War II, being sta- tioned at Wright Field in naval aviation. He served on the weather survey in Alaska. Diane Loveland Parker was b Sep. 10, 1943 at Dayton, Ohio, and Donna Lee Parker June 1, 1946 at Albany, N. Y. Joseph B. Parker, Jr., is an en- gineer with the Carrier Air Conditioning Company in Philadelphia, Pa. Sylvia L. Parker g from Bangor High school in 1912 and Mount Holyoke in 1916. She took her degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of California in 1928. She is now senior statistician in the New York State Department of Correction.
KEITH MORRISON PARKMAN, machinist, was b in Sanger- ville Oct. 13, 1923, the s of Ernest and Bernice Morrison Parkman. He m Mabel Washburn, who was b to Fred T.

and Hattie Johnson Washburn in Dover July 13, 1923. He g from Dexter High and she g from Foxcroft Academy. He served with the Marine Corps overseas and belongs to the American Legion and the Masonic orders. They have one d, Janet, b in Dexter Oct. 23, 1946. The family is affw the Congregational church.
BENJAMIN A. PEAKES, retired salesman, was b in St. Albans Mar. 5, 1878, s of Alfred W. and Martha Merriman Peakes. He m Barbara G. Pfundtner, who was b in New Richmond, Wis., on May 21, 1890, the d of William A. and Elinor Beland Pfundtner. Ch: (1) Constance E., b June 24, 1917, m Robert Brown of Boulder, Colo., and has three s, Rob- ert, Jr., Douglass and Christopher; (2) Alfred W., b Apr. 20, 1921, m Virginia Kitchin of Glendale, Calif., and has a d, Linda; (3) Bayard P., b Dec. 14, 1922, is single.
MYRON L. PEARL was a welder-foreman. He was b in Dover- Foxcroft July 25, 1912, the s of Henry L. and Alfretta Lee- man Pearl. He m Maxine Robichaud, the d of Fred and Gertrude Ginhold Robichaud and she was b in Dover-Fox- croft Dec. 23, 1917. She g from Foxcroft Academy and from Bliss Business College at Lewiston. One s, Richard H., was b of this union Jan. 11, 1945. Mr. Myron L. Pearl died in Lewiston Jan. 12, 1946.
