PAUL B. BURNS was b to Thomas S. and Evelyn Mckinnon Burns in Harvey, N. B., July 17, 1925. He took an account- ing course at the Maine School of Commerce in Bangor and is now bookkeeper for the Eastern States Farmers Exchange in D-F. He served in the Army of World War II. His wife was the former Winnifred Carter, d of Stanley and Louise Martell Carter of Guilford, and a g of Guilford High school.

B., June 16, 1923; Paul B., b in Harvey, N. B., July 17, 1925, and Katherine I., b in Vanceboro Feb. 20, 1928. The two sons served in World War II. Joseph W. is now Am. Exp. agent at D-F.


ARTHUR STEWARD BUSH, sawmill employee, is the s of Roland and Doris (Steward) Bush Shorey and was b in Au- gusta Mar. 5, 1924. Oct. 28, 1945, he m Bessie Grant and she was b to Floyd M. and Lulu Belle Hoskins Grant in Milo Apr. 6, 1928. He g from Foxcroft Academy in 1943 and she attended the Milo and D-F schools.


HARRY M. BUSH was b Sep. 7, 1876, s of James and Mary Mar- tin Bush. He attended the public schools of Dover-Fox- croft and Foxcroft Academy. Mr. Bush commenced busi- ness as a manufacturer and retailer of confectionery on Dec. 4, 1897, and for the past forty years and up to the present time has been in the wholesale and retail confectionery business. Mr. Bush has taken much interest in public and municipal affairs in this section; has been County Commis- sioner for six years, and is now Probation Officer for Pis- cataquis County. He is a member of the Mosaic Lodge of Masons, Anah Temple of Mystic Shrine, Bangor, a member of the local and very active Kiwanis Club International, and a trustee of the Piscataquis Savings Bank. On Feb. 26, 1902, Mr. Bush m Lilla M. Rogers of Sebec and from this union two ch were b, Dorothy Lillian, Jan. 13, 1903, and Thomas Rogers, Oct. 23, 1904. Mrs. Bush died July 11, 1924. June 24, 1931, Mr. Bush m Grace Martin Annis of Bangor. Both are members of the Congregational church. They reside in their very attractive home on Main Street.


EARLE B. BUTTERFIELD, spool mill employee, was b to Willis F. and Cora M. Gove Butterfield in Danforth Sep. 26, 1906. He g from Monmouth Academy and attended Farmington State Normal School. He m Velma A. Macom- ber and she was b in Dover July 15, 1907, the d of George and Vera Gray Macomber. She taught school for several years and now maintains a private kindergarten at her home, 138 West Main St. She is Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs, and Mr. Butterfield is an Odd Fellow. They have one s, Geo. Macomber Butterfield, b Nov. 29. 1934.

ALLIE GEORGE BUTLER, freight office clerk and checker for the Maine Central Railroad, was b in Foxcroft Aug. 14, 1898, the s of William M. and Mary Deleware Butler. On Apr. 16, 1917, he m Miss Margaret Myshrall, who was b in Brewer in 1896, the d of Thomas and Lucy Batchelor Myshrall. They have five ch: Elizabeth, m William Reese of Ripley; Irene, m Charles LeDeau of Montpelier, Vt .; Allie George, Jr., m Norma Hill of Sangerville; James and Joan Butler are in school.


RAYMOND A. BUTLER, employed in dressing room of Brown's woolen mill, was b in Searsmont Dec. 26, 1906, the s of Geo. W. and Martha Neal Butler. Oct. 22, 1928, he m Miss Pearl Davis, who was b to Manley J. and Blanche E. At- wood Davis in Dover July 31, 1909. He belongs to the Masons, and she to the Eastern Star. They have no chil- dren, but legally adopted as a s, Larry R., b in Haverhill, Mass., Jan. 4, 1943, when he was but a few months old.


WAINWRIGHT L. BUTLER, cardroom overseer in local woolen mills, was b in Foxcroft Sep. 26, 1903, the s of William M. and Mary Deleware Butler. Mar. 28, 1944, he m Melissia Bouley, who was b to Fred and Annie Bouley at Fort Kent Feb. 19, 1913. They had one d, Sandra Jean Butler, b Dec. 19, 1944. Mrs. Butler died Sep. 19, 1945. Mr. Butler has a s, Richard Ernest Butler, b by a former marriage, on April 9, 1936. The family is Catholic.


WILLIAM JOSEPH BUTLER, a mule-spinner in the Brown's woolen mill, was b in Fairfield Jan. 26, 1887, and was the s of William M. and Mary Deleware Butler. Jan. 6, 1934 he m Miss Augusta Zande, the d of Jack and Catherina Zande of Guilford. They have a d, Mary Rita (adopted), b in Jackman Dec. 31, 1927, and is a g of Foxcroft Academy.


OMAR GUY BUZZELL, a truckman, was b to Willis Percival Buzzell and Stella Ora Thompson Buzzell in Sangerville May 12, 1909. He attended the Abbot schools. Mar. 15, 1947, he m Lois Chase (twin), who was b in Dover-Foxcroft Dec. 2, 1919, the d of Abel and Minnie Lois Chase. By a previous m Mr. Buzzell has a s, Omar Carroll Buzzell, b Mar. 25, 1942. His wife was the former Angie Pratt and she was b to Herbert F. and Carrie Knowles Pratt in Foxcroft Nov. 9, 1889. They had one s, Ira W., b Nov. 23, 1918, and he m Eunice Pitts of Edmonton, Alberta, and they have a s, John W., b Oct. 19, 1946. Ira W. has served in the Navy since Sep. 2, 1941, 21 months of which has been overseas. He is now Chief Disbursing Officer in the Navy Dept. in Wash- ington, D. C. John W. Campbell belongs to the I. O. O. F. Lodge in Corinth. Affw Baptist.


STEPHEN A. CAMPBELL, all his life a saw filer and mill- wright, was b to Calvin B. and Elizabeth Dutton Campbell in Corinna Feb. 19, 1876. He m Florence Tomlinson, who was b in Brighton July 14, 1878, the d of John and Amanda Tomlinson. He attended the Garland schools, and she at- tended the Garland, Me., and Hope, N. D., schools. They had one child that died in infancy.


EARL LeROY CARR, photographer, but in recent years operat- ing a shoe repair shop, was b in Pittsfield May 19, 1898, the s of Hiram W. and Jennie Barnes Carr. FRANK LAWRENCE CARSLEY, clerk and telegraph operator with the Maine Central Railroad since 1918, and now Gen- eral Agent for that company at Rockland, was b to Howard Clifton Carsley and Grace Maud Hill Carsley in Sangerville Feb. 27, 1901. Aug. 18, 1923, he m Dorothy Speed, the d of Hartwell Perkins Speed and Hattie Sweet Speed in At- kinson Nov. 9, 1903. They have one s, Lawrence Howard Carsley, b July 25, 1926, and died Sep. 14, 1926. They are United Baptist; Republican, and Mr. Carsley is a 32nd De- gree Mason.


OLIVER T. CASWELL was b in England Jan. 18, 1889, the s of Harry and Annie Faunce Caswell. He first went to Ber- muda, where he started a laundry and dry cleaning busi- ness in 1911. On May 18, 1922, he purchased a similar business on Monument Sq. from Jack Small, which he has continued to date. Mr. Caswell belongs to the I. O. O. F., Masons and Shrine. Dec. 5, 1912, in New York City he m Ina M. Tebbetts of Hermon, who was b to George E. and Olive C. Morrill Tebbetts Aug. 14, 1868. She is a member of the Eastern Star, Carpe Diem Club and the Lend a Hand Society.


JAMES CHAMBERS, woolen mill carder, was b in Calais Jan. 29, 1892, the s of Charles and Charlotte Hobbs Chambers. Sep. 26, 1916, he m Lena (Briggs) Hobbs, a widow, and she was b in Topsfield Jan. 13, 1887, the d of Solomon and Anna Morrill White Briggs. There are no children by this union, but Mrs. Chambers has two children by her first m: Howard A. Hobbs, b May 3, 1909, m Thelma Jenkins, and they have three s, Arthur A., Edward F. and Richard H .; Helen D. Hobbs, b Mar. 23, 1912, m Chas. A. Dean of Derby.


WALTER L. CHAMPEON was a machine shop pattern maker. He was b in Garland Aug. 16, 1876, the s of Levi and Anna Buzzell Champeon. He m Lottie G. Trimm, who was b to Barzilla R. and Ada Pearl Trimm in Charleston Mar. 16, 1880. Brown and she was b to Walter F. and Marion Curtis Brown in Hampden May 7, 1918. He served with the Navy overseas in World War II; is a Mason, and both are g of Hampden Academy, and affw the Congregational church. They have one d, Patricia E., b in Bangor May 7, 1939.


CHARLES H. CHAPMAN, farmer, was b in Moscow Sep. 9, 1863, the s of Oliver B. and Sarah Hill Chapman. He m Martha Gilman, who was b to Amasa and Henrietta Dow Gilman in Foxcroft Aug. 28, 1861. Their ch: Harry H. Chapman, b Aug. 23, 1893, unmarried, lives in Charleston; Ava (Chapman) Hill, b Feb. 21, 1898, resides in D-F. She is a Rebekah. Chas. H. Chapman died Feb. 16, 1916, and Mrs. Chapman died Dec. 22, 1935. Mrs. Martha Gilman had a sister, Lettie Gilman Young, who died Apr. 8, 1945.


RALPH F. CHAPMAN, serviceman for the P. E. Ward Co., was b in Dover-Foxcroft Apr. 10, 1909, the s of Fred E. and Nel- lie Douglass Chapman. He belongs to the Masons and I. O. O. F., and is a g of Foxcroft Academy. He m Miss Louise H. Herring, who was b to Ora and Winnie Cooley Herring in Guilford Oct. 16, 1912, and was g from Foxcroft Acad- emy in 1932. She belongs to the Rebekahs. They have one d, Carole Louise Chapman, b in D-F Dec. 3, 1940.


CHARLES A. CHASE is sole owner and proprietor of the Chase and Kimball Garage and Automobile Sales Agency, and dis- tributors of the "Texaco" gasoline and oils for this area. This business was established in 1915. Mr. Chase was b in Sebec July 19, 1889, the s of Charles J. and Annie Hanson Chase. He m Miss Ruth Walton, who was b to Fred and Annie Gertrude Walton in Orono June 13, 1899. Both are g of Foxcroft Academy. They have one s, Charles A. Chase, Jr., b May 26, 1922, who m Madeline Hinton of Cambridge, and they have one s, Randall. Charles A., Jr., has one s, Charles Lawrence Chase by a former marriage. conducted a large general store, kept the postoffice at Sebec Station and did a large lumbering business under the name of A. J. Chase & Son for the larger part of a century. Charles J. was in the Legislature for several terms and headed some of the most important committees. He died in April, 1947.


WILLIAM J. CHASE, JR., co-proprietor of the Riverside Tex- aco Filling Station on South Street, was b at Sebec Station Aug. 8, 1916, the s of William J. and Hazel Shaw Chase. He m Gloria Bradeen, the d of Cecil R. and Dorothy Smith Bradeen, and she was b in Boston, Mass., Feb. 13, 1922. He g from Foxcroft Academy and she g from Bangor High school. Mr. Chase served 21 months in the Pacific Theater and is a member of the American Legion. They have Caro- lyn Gail, b in Dover-Foxcroft May 1, 1947.


WILLIAM H. CILLEY, assistant superintendent of the Central Maine Power Co. at D-F, was b to Herbert Lorin and Clara Rogers Cilley in Atkinson Sept. 10, 1904. He g from Foxcroft Academy. Republican. Baptist. He m Hazel Shaw, who was b at Sangerville Jan. 2, 1897, d of Melvin and Gertrude Mason Shaw. They have one s, Frederick M., b in Dexter Oct. 19, 1933.


FERD E. CLAPP, machinist, was b in Rockland Oct. 29, 1884, the s of Samuel F. and Annie Turner Clapp. Feb. 3, 1924, he m Miss Francina Clark, who was b to George D. and Agnes M. Tyler Clark in Guilford Aug. 20, 1900. They have one s, Elwood V., b Feb. 21, 1925, and he m Rachel (Her- sey) Snow.


FERNALD L. CLARK, for the past six years a manufacturer of lumber, was b in Milford July 31, 1892, the s of George E. and Ellie Brown Clark. He first m Helen Darling of Milo and they had Affia Ellen, b Sep. 11, 1914. She m James Gar- rett of Hartford, Conn. Fernald L., Jr., b Dec. 12, 1915, m Mabel Moody of Uncasville, Conn. He m Miss Shirley Palmer and she was b to Lester E. and Gladys Tenney Palmer in Dover-Foxcroft May 20, 1924. Both were g from Foxcroft Academy in 1942. They have Linda Jean, b in Bangor May 27, 1945, and Stephen Lawrence, b in D-F Aug. 7, 1947.


PHILIP P. CLARK, drug store clerk, s of Allen P. and Mary Taylor Clark, was b in Dover-Foxcroft Aug. 28, 1902. He was g from Foxcroft Academy; is a member of the Masons. Oct. 9, 1942, he m Dorothy Packard, who was b to Burton N. and Etta Day Packard in Abbot. She g from the East Maine Conference Seminary in Bucksport and the Farm- ington State Normal school. Also attended the Sargent School for Physical Education. For several years she has taught school in this vicinity.


WILLIAM R. CLARKE was b in Bowerbank June 11, 1873, the son of John F. and Edna Perham Clarke. Nov. 19, 1904, he m Avis L. Mansfield, who was b to Stacy T. and Mary E. Loud Mansfield in Foxcroft Apr. 10, 1880. He g from the Sebec High school and she g from Foxcroft Academy. They had one d, Mary Edna Clarke, b in Bowerbank Jan. 7, 1907, and died Oct. 4, 1911. From 1899 to 1941-42 years, Mr. Clarke owned and operated a steamboat on Sebec Lake. In 1895 he built a sawmill in Bowerbank, which he operated until he sold it in 1926. In their later years Mr. and Mrs. Clarke established and built up a tea room business at Greeley's Landing and by the time they retired it had reached considerable proportions. Mrs. Clarke is a Past Noble Grand of the Winona Rebekah Lodge, and both are Past Masters of the Grange.


LLOYD STANLEY CLEMENT, trackman on the Sebec Sec- tion for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, and residing at Sebec Corner, was b in Hermon Feb. 13, 1914, the s of Norman Stanley and Jennie Ethel Davis Clement. He was g from Foxcroft Academy in 1933, and from the North- eastern University in Boston in 1939. In 1935 he entered the employ of the Foxboro (Mass.) Company, manufactur- ers of precision instruments, doing part time work as me- chanical engineer. He is now employed in the designing division of this company, a position which he has held since graduating from the university-a co-operative institution. JEROME J. CLUKEY, installer and repairman for the New England Telephone and Telegraph Co., was b in Dexter Mar. 12, 1908, the s of Harry O. and Rosie LaFountain Clukey. He m Olive M. LESTER J. CLUKEY, a telephone construction foreman, was b in Dexter Mar. 10, 1910, the s of Harry O. and Rose La- Fountaine Clukey. He m Edith Miles, who was b to Clif- ton B. and Gertrude Hall Miles in Orneville Aug. 25, 1911. He attended Dexter High school and she g from Higgins Classical Institute. Mr. Clukey was in World War I three years, serving in the Signal Corps, and was discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. ANSEL L. COBB, a carpenter, was b in Parkman Oct. 8, 1871, and died Mar. 17, 1926. He was the s of Morrison and Mary Chadbourne Cobb. He m Ida Myshrall of Fredericton, N. B., and she was b to Frank and Elizabeth Hammond Myshrall Feb. 12, 1880. Ch: Hazel M., Arlene M., Mar- guerite L., Mariam C., Dorothy A., Ansel L., Jr., Ida M., and Ethel M. Mariam C. m Elwin M. FRED K. COLE, a veteran of World War II, is bookkeeper at the Chase & Kimball Garage. He was b to Herbert and Dora Knight Cole in Turner Sep. 19, 1893. He m Hilda Fuller, the d of U. Grant and Amelia Hewett Fuller and b in Strat- ton June 9, 1896. They have two ch, Geraldine M., b in D-F Sep. 2, 1927, and g from Foxcroft Academy in 1945; Robert E., b in Guilford Hospital Nov. 15, 1935. Mr. Cole attended Leavitt Institute in Turner Ctr. He is a Mason and belongs to the American Legion.

L. Davis Cole. His wife was the former Ethel S. Coffin and she was b to Edmund and May E. Harris Coffin in Maple- ton Sep. 1, 1894. Ch: Gilbert F., b in Atkinson Oct. 9, 1921, and Jerre G., b in Atkinson Apr. 9, 1924. Both g from Fox- croft Academy and both attending Husson College in Ban- gor. Parents and both sons are V. F. W. members.


JAMES E. COLLETTE was a woodsman, and was b to Edward T. and Olive Basterash Collette in Buctouche, N. B., July 20, 1882. He m Melvina M. Albert, who was b in St. Leon- ard, N. B., Apr. 10, 1887, and was the d of Angus and Lea Mary Cyr Albert. Ch: (1) Angus J. Collette, b in Buctouche, N. B., July 1, 1911, m Catherine Elliott of Portland and they have Carol Ann, b Aug. 30, 1934 and James H., b Aug. 1, 1938; (2) Edward J. Collette, b in Lincoln Mar. 14, 1913, m June Roderick of D-F and they have Roderick E., b Jan. 11, 1934 and Glenna M., b July 23, 1940. Mr. Collette met his death by accidental drowning June 6, 1915. Mrs. Collette later m Thomas H. Myshrall of Frederickton, N. B. He was b Sep. 19, 1865, and was president of the Thomas & Brawn Monumental Works in D-F. They had (1) Thomas A. Myshrall, b June 4, 1917 and m Alice Pray of Rochester, N. H., (2) Francis M., b Feb. 25, 1920, single, (3) Louise Marie, b Apr. 15, 1922, m Theron A. Tozier of Skowhegan, and they have Donna Marie Tozier b July 20, 1947, (4) Helen M., b Aug. 3, 1923 and died May 4, 1924. Mr. Mysh- rall died Sep. 8, 1925. Mrs. Myshrall then m William H. McGrath, a plumber, who was b in Pawtucket, R. I., Dec. 16, 1889 and died Apr. 30, 1943. Mrs. McGrath resides in her comfortable home on South Street.


ALLEN E. COLLINS, overseer in the spinning room of the Brown woolen mill, was b to Edward D. and Lena Cobb Collins in Dover July 25, 1897. He m Grace M. Mitchell, who was b in Dover Feb. 5, 1900, the d of James W. and Jennie Curtis Mitchell. Both are g of Foxcroft Academy. He belongs to the Modern Woodmen, and served in the Army of World War I. Ch: Rodney H., b Sep. 27, 1921; Harland E., b Oct. 29, 1922, and m Marion Stone of Cor- inna; Janice M., b Apr. 12, 1928; Gloria M., b Oct. 12, 1934.


ARTHUR E. COLLINS, a winder-fixer in a local woolen mill, was b Apr. 29, 1921, the s of Joseph E. and Mina White Collins. He m Berdena M. Bickford, the d of Archie J. and Mary Jones Bickford and b in Belgrade Feb. 8, 1923.

He m Mina (White) Holland, who was b to Otis and Grace Fuller White in Madison Aug. 16, 1898. Ch: (1) Hattie, b Oct. 11, 1919, m Harry Myles Taylor of Guilford and they have a s, Harley; (2) Arthur E., b Apr. 29, 1921, m Berdena M. Bickford, and they have Arthur E., Jr., and Jon Joseph. Mrs. Collins has a s, William Edward Holland, by a previ- ous m who was b Feb. 17, 1918, and m Margaret McDem- mott of Brownville Jct. By a former m Mrs. W. E. Holland has a d, Isabel Louise Boug, b June 19, 1944. W. E. Hol- land served in the Army of World War II in the Philippines.


GEORGE T. CONNORS, expressman, was b in Melrose, Mass., Nov. 26, 1920, the s of John R. and Myra Greer Connors, and was g from the Farm and Trade School in Boston, Mass.
