ARTHUR PERCY STACY was b to George W. and Violet Hus- sey Stacy in Blanchard Jan. 6, 1894. He m Miss Helen Sherburne, who was b in Aurora June 5, 1895. Their ch: George J., b Mar. 15, 1919, and Ruth, b Nov. 17, 1923. (Look under headings George J. Stacy and Harold M. Hayes.) Arthur Percy Stacy, a g of Foxcroft Academy, started in the footsteps of his father as a lumberman, but switched to the hotel business and has had a successful hotel career. He operated the "Ledges" near Shirley for eleven seasons, was proprietor of the "Braeburn" in Guil- ford for six years, and since April 1936 has been proprietor of the well-known "Blethen House" in Dover-Foxcroft.


GEORGE J. STACY, co-manager of the Blethen House, b at Shirley Mills Mar. 15, 1919, s of Arthur Percy and Helen Sherburne Stacy. Graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1937. MURRAY M. STANHOPE, office manager, Dover Motor Co., was b in Portland Jan. 9, 1918, and is the s of Charles N. Stanhope, M. D., and Maude Marsh Stanhope. He m Eliza- beth G. Smith, who was b to Henry B. and Alice Cross Smith in Dover-Foxcroft July 24, 1919. Both are g of Fox- croft Academy, and he also g from the Bentley School of Accounting, Boston. They have one d, Betty Jane, b in Dover-Foxcroft Aug. 21, 1946.


HALE G. STANLEY, clerk at "Koritsky's" clothing store, was b to Asa H. and Annie R. Gillis Stanley at Springfield May 30, 1923. Republican. Congregationalist. He g from Bangor High school in 1941. Served in World War II. Dec. 4, 1945 he m Miss Margaret Eileen Washburn, who was b in Dover- Foxcroft June 1, 1924, the d of Philip Ervin and Helen E. Dyer Washburn. She g from Foxcroft Academy and at- tended the Maine School of Commerce at Bangor in 1942. She is a member of Miriam Chapter No. 40 of the Eastern Star. A d, Eileen Margaret Stanley, was b to them on Jan. 9, 1947, and died in infancy.


MRS. MINNIE PARKHURST ROBINSON STARBIRD was b to Charles F. and Minnie Lasch Parkhurst in Boston, Mass. She is an elocutionist and pianist and has taught both for many years. Her advent into Maine was for health reasons, and she first m John H. Robinson, a cooper, of North Brad- ford. Mr. Robinson died within three years, leaving her with one d, Leila M., who was b in Cambridge, Mass. Miss Leila m Dr. E. G. Lorenzen of New Haven, Conn., and he taught law in Yale University for 27 years. They now re- side in Coral Gables, Fla. Five years after Mr. Robinson died, Mrs. Robinson was m to Edwin S. Starbird of Dover- Foxcroft. He was a farmer but taught singing school for many years, as many will remember. He died in Oct. 1922.


MRS. STELLA (FAUNCE) WATSON STARBIRD was b to Edwin and Maria Faunce Feb. 8, 1879. She first m J. WALTER L. STEADMAN, a restaurant owner and proprietor, was b in Dover Mar. 18, 1903, the s of Charles W. and De- lora Merrifield Steadman. He m Ivy (Merrill) Huntington, the widow of the late Kenneth Huntington of Bradford and she was the d of Lester and Jessie Smith Merrill. They have a d, Sarah D., b Oct. 2, 1939. By her m to Mr. Huntington Mrs. Steadman has three ch: Howard, b Sep. 17, 1925, Eve- lyn, b June 17, 1928, and Dorothy, b July 25, 1931.


FRED WILLIAM STERLING, cloth inspector for the American Woolen Co., was b to Frederick W. and Ella Dodge Sterling in Dover Aug. 25, 1889. He attended Foxcroft Academy three years, and took a completed correspondence course in woolen and worsted designing. A veteran of World War I and belongs to the American Legion. Republican. Aug. 18, 1929 he m Miss Bernice Whitten, who was b in New Port- land Jan. 17, 1898, the d of Willard and Mabel Parsons Whitten. She g from Kingfield High school and in 1921 g from the Farmington Normal school, and has taught school for several years. She is a member of the "Percolator Club" of Dover-Foxcroft. LEVI C. STEVENS, a dairy farm employee at South Dover, was b to Pearl C. and Olive Chambers Stevens in Lincoln Nov. 27, 1925. He m Lottie Boyce, the d of Glen L. and Lottie Packard Boyce in Palmyra Apr. 9, 1928. They have Levi C .. Jr., b in Dover-Foxcroft Aug. 25, 1944, and Gary L., b in Dover-Foxcroft Feb. 9, 1947.


PEARL C. STEVENS, manager of the Sanborn "Doverdale" dairy farm at South Dover, was b in Garland July 6, 1898, the s of Edward F. and Lucy Day Stevens. His wife was the former Olive Chambers, and was b to George and Etta Bean Chambers in Maple Grove Feb. 4, 1899. He g from Aroostook Central Institute in 1935, St. Francis Xavier University in 1937, University of Alabama in 1939, and St. Louis University School of Medi- cine in 1943. Dr. Stitham served as Medical Officer in World War II. In 1942 he m Helen B. Dillen, who was b to Herrick and Rachel Kearney Dillen in Mars Hill Aug. 4, 1917. HARRY MILES TAYLOR, soaper in a local woolen mill, was b to Harley W. and Nettie Feero Taylor in Guilford Dec. 24, 1921. ELWYN F. TEWKSBURY, lumber mill rotaryman, was b in At- kinson Sep. 10, 1873, the s of Daniel D. and Abbie Went- worth Tewksbury. May 6, 1904 he m Mary Josephine Rob- shaud, who was b in New Brunswick, Canada, Jan. 6, 1872, the d of John and Mary Robshaud. She died in Aug. 1941. They had no children.


ARTHUR C. THOMAS was a woolen mill loom fixer. He was b to James and Agnes Levensallor Thomas in Atkinson June 17, 1897. He m Miss Eileen Richards, the d of Ralph W. and Louise Crockett Richards in Guilford Aug. 28, 1915. Mrs. Richards is a registered nurse, having trained at the Eastern Maine General Hospital in Bangor, and now Pub- lic Health Nurse for Piscataquis County. Mr. Thomas died Mar. 28, 1947, leaving her with one s, Barry C. Thomas, b in Dover-Foxcroft July 27, 1944. Mrs. Thomas and Barry reside on River street.

His wife was the former Marguerite Anderson and she was b to Harryman John and Elva Hall Anderson in South Dover Mar. 9, 1917. Ch: Joanne M., b Jan. 10, 1936, and Richard L., b Sep. 17, 1938.


HAROLD E. TRUE, for many years a traveling salesman but now High Sheriff of Piscataquis County, was b to Walter E. and Jennie Ladd True in Foxcroft July 10, 1889. He m Dorothy Sturtevant, who was b to Aura and Elizabeth Daggett Sturtevant in Dover Oct. 21, 1900. Both are g of Foxcroft Academy. He m Miss Jennie Ladd of Sebec and she was b to Albion and Ellen Nelson Ladd Apr. 21, 1863. (She died in Dec. 1932.) EDWARD G. TUMOSA, a locomotive fireman for the Canadian Pacific Ry., was b in Dover-Foxcroft Aug. 3, 1914, the s of George and Annie Kerusauckas Tumosa. He m Beatrice Wylie, the d of Hazen W. and Mary Daurie Wylie and b in St. John, N. B., Nov. 5, 1921. He was g from Foxcroft Academy, and she from Brownville Jct. High school; and she belongs to the Rebekahs at Milo. Ch: Edward G., Jr., h Aug. 13, 1942, and Irene Linda, b May 1, 1946.


ARTHUR F. TURNER, miller in the A. W. Gilman feed store on Lincoln street, was b in South Dover Nov. 30, 1892, the s of Frank T. and Mary Blood Turner. CLARENCE W. TYLER, woolen mill shear tender, was b in Foxcroft Feb. 26, 1908, the s of Charles H. and Emma L. Cudmore Tyler. He m Miss Leola Marsh of Van Buren and she was b to Joseph and Una Southard Marsh Jan. 3], 1913. She g from the Berlin, N. Mr. Van Aken m Marion A. Trimble, who was b to Clar- ence W. and Frances Haycock Trimble at Calais. She g from Calais Academy, Bradford Academy, attended Welles- ley College and g from Lesley Kindergarten School. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Bodies, and both are members of the Congregational church. They have one s, Peter T., b in Bangor June 20, 1941.


JOSEPH E. VENO, JR., clerk in the Great Northern Paper Co. office in Greenville, was b to Joseph E. Veno, Sr., and Theresa Burnier Veno in Greenville May 22, 1905. He m Alice Chase, who was b to Abel H. and Minnie (Chase) Chase in Dover Dec. 2, 1919. She g from Foxcroft Acad- emy and belongs to the Rebekahs. He belongs to the Odd Fellows. PERLEY E. WARD was b in Brighton Aug. 27, 1870, the s of Leonard and Julia Bemis Ward. In 1903 he founded the P. E. Ward & Co. furniture business in Dover-Foxcroft which has been developed to be one of the largest of its kind in Eastern Maine. His wife, the former Ethel Rowell, was b to Sumner and Mary Whittier Rowell in Brighton Mar. 6, 1881. Mr. Ward attended Athens Academy, and Mrs. Ward was g from Farmington State Normal school. Their only c, Sumner R. Ward, was b in Foxcroft Sep. 11, 1906. He m Miss Faye Davis of Dover and they have Margaret, b in Apr. 1933; Lois, b in Apr. 1936, and Judith, b in Aug. 1937. (See Sumner R. SUMNER R. WARD, manager of the Perley E. Ward & Co. furniture store business, was b in Dover-Foxcroft Sep. 11, 1906, the s of Perley E. and Ethel Rowell Ward. He was g from Foxcroft Academy, took a post-graduate course at Higgins Classical Institute and attended the University of Maine two years. From that time he has been associated with his father in an expanding furniture business. ALBERT W. WARREN, formerly an automobile salesman, now doing lumbering, was b in Dover June 28, 1892, the s of John C. and Jennie Brawn Warren. He served three years as Turnkey at the County Jail, and eleven years as Deputy Sheriff. He m Miss Ada M. Ayer and she was b to Llew- ellyn A. and Ava Hill Ayer in Dover Apr. 4, 1895. She g from Foxcroft Academy in 1913 and from the Lowell (Mass.) Commercial College in 1914, and was employed as office clerk and stenographer in the law office of Hudson & Hud- son in Guilford for two years before being married. LEWIS B. WARREN, foreman of the Dover-Foxcroft highway department, was b in D-F Sep. 14, 1913, the s of John C. and Jennie Brawn Warren. Dec. 24, 1938 he m Miss Sybil Merrill, the d of Ernest F. and Rosa Lane Merrill and b in Dover-Foxcroft Jan. 7, 1914. She attended Foxcroft Academy.
