II. Albert William. b. Ang. 20. 1822; m .. first, Ruth Merrill, who died. aged 19 years, by whom he had one son, Albert Harri- son Ayer, now living in Haverhill; and m., second, Lydia Ann Hoyt. daughter of Moses Hoyt, Esq., of Hampstead. Hle died in 1888. and she d. in Ilaverhill in 1899; both buried in Hampstead village cemetery. They had children :-

III. Christopher Perley, b. Jan. 12, 1824; m., and lived in Ayers Village, Haverhill, and in Portland, Me. ; had children-Mon- roe, Walter, Phineas, Kate, Annette, and others.
IV. Mary Elizabeth Gibbon, b. July 21, 1829; m. Horatio Hoyt, and has one daughter, Emma, a teacher in Yonkers, N. Y., for several years; Mary E .; m., second, Frederick Nichols of Merrimac, Mass., where they now reside.
V. Ebenezer HIale Little, b. July 1, 1834; m., and has sons, Jesse R. and Russell S. Ayer. He resides in Detroit, Mich. (see p. 196, Vol. 1).
VI. Charles Richards, b. Jan. 22, 1837; m., and lived in Boston, Mass., where he was a messenger at the State House for a number of years. Ile d. in 1899.

Mary Noyes, b. in Hampstead, May 12, 1795, a daughter of Joshua Hale and Sarah ( Kimball) Noyes (No. 288). She married Nathaniel Babb of Hampstead, who d. in Hamp- stead, April 27, 1822, aged 32 years. She was admitted to the church " by confession and by baptism," Jan. 6, 1828, and died in Hampstead, June 3, 1840, and was buried in the village cemetery. Their children were :-

No. 274.
Hannah Noyes, b. in Windham, Jan. 1, 1790, a daughter of Moses and Phebe (Richardson) Noyes of Windham, who were the pioneers of the Noyes family in Windham. She married Jonathan K. Brown, son of James and Alice (Fer- ren) Brown (see Nos. 105 and 106). She was admitted to the church as a widow, " by baptism and by confession, Jan. 6, 1828." She died in Hampstead, Nov. 9, 1863. He died Oct. 24, 1827. Both were buried in the village cemetery. They had children, bapt. Jan. 6, 1828-Alice Frances and Sarah.

Sally Ordway, b. in Hampstead, March 18, 1795, a daugh- ter of John and Sally (Rogers) Ordway (see p. 334, Vol. 1). She married Ralph Brickett (No. 376) (see Nos. 224, 225). She was admitted to the church Jan. 6, 1828, and dismissed and recommended to the church at Lawrence, Mass., Nov. 24, 1848, and from there was dismissed and recommended to the Congregational Church at Atkinson, January, 1859. She died in Atkinson, July 1, 1862, and was buried in the Hampstead village cemetery. Their children were :-

Belinda Little, b. in Hampstead, July 3, 1800, a daughter of Nathaniel and Abiah (Emerson) Little (Nos. 255 and 256). She married Theodore Tarlton ( No. 289), Aug. 12, 1831. She was admitted to the church Jan. 6, 1828, and was dismissed to the church in " the Western country," probably Illinois.

Sarah Woodman Jaques, b. in West Newbury, Mass., Aug. 27, 1808, a daughter of Moses and Hannah (Chase) Jaques, of West Newbury. She married Jacob Irving (No. 283), Jan. 14, 1832. She was admitted to the church by confes- sion and baptism, Jan. 6, 1828, and died Nov. 25, 1850. Their children were :-

Nancy Ordway, b. in Hampstead, April 25, 1800, a daugh- ter of John and Sally (Rogers) Ordway (No. 275) and (p. 334, Vol. 1). She was admitted to the church Jan. 6, 1828, by confession and baptism, and died in Hampstead, Sept. 13, 1872, and was buried in the village cemetery.

Abigail Atkinson Emerson, b. in Hampstead, Nov. 13, 1810, a daughter of Robert and Sarah (Kent) Emerson (No. 296). She married James Brickett, Jr. (see No. 225). She united with the church May, 1828, and was dismissed to the church in Newport, Nov. 7, 1834. She died, and was buried in Claremont, April 25, 1852. James Brickett was for many years a member of the church at Claremont (see No. 318). He died April, 1864, and was buried in Claremont. They had four children, two of whom died young, and Robert and Louisa, who lived to young manhood and womanhood, and died of consumption.

Fanny Tufts, said to have been a nurse in several families in town, and had brother William, who worked in Ralph Brickett's saw-mill for many years. She was admitted to the church by confession and baptism, Jan. 6, 1828.

Delia Brickett, b. in Hampstead, July 31, 1799, a daugh- ter of James and Anna (Wheeler) Brickett (Nos. 224, 225). She married, first, Henry, son of Joseph Welch (No. 219). She was admitted to the church October, 1828, and was dis- missed and recommended to the Congregational Church at East Haverhill, Mass., November, 1835. She married, sec- ond, Simeon George, of East Haverhill. She died in East Haverhill, and was buried there. She had children :-

Jaques (No. 278), and married, second, Mary M. Shirley (No. 497). He was admitted to the church, " aged 19, by confession and baptism, Jan. 6, 1828." He was dismissed to unite with the North Parish Church in Haverhill, Mass., July, 1854. From that church he was admitted as a member of the Congregational Church at Atkinson, and in 1868 again became a member of the church at Hampstead, and continued till his death, March 10, 1879. He was station agent at Atkinson Depot thirteen years, and resided three years in Atkinson Village, on the John Dow place, now oc- cupied by Benj. R. Heald. He was chorister of the musical society eight years, and superintendent of the Sunday school twelve.

Thomas Kendrick Little, b. in Amesbury, Mass., May 2, 1807, a son of John and Susannah ( Kendrick ) Little. John Little was b. Nov. 13, 1873, and d. in Boston, Mass., July 9, 1812, and was one of the first persons to introduce carriage making into Amesbury. Susannah Kendrick was a daughter of Seth and Hannah Kendrick of Amesbury. She was b. June 17, 1779, and d. March 22, 1856. Thomas K. married Sarah Bennett, a daughter of John and Elizabeth H. (Reed) Burden. Dec. 28, 1834, who was b. Oct., 1811. He was a clothier, and resided in West Hampstead. He was admitted to the church, " aged 20, Jan. 6, 1828, by baptism and confession." He was separated from the church, by his own request, Nov. 6, 1835. They had children, b. in Hamp- stead :-
I. John William, b. Sept. 21, 1835; m. Lucy Ann Hall (No. 576).

Daniel Nichols, b. in Hampstead, Dec. 6, 1811, a son of Samuel and Alice (Kent) Nichols. He married Sallie, b. Feb. 3, 1814, daughter of Martyn and Annie (Arnold) Mi- not, of East Hampstead. Ile was admitted to the church, " aged 16 years, by baptism and confession," Jan. 6, 1828. " He left the church upon a change of beliefs, Aug. 1, 1831." He was a mechanic by trade, and died in Ilampstead, Oct. 16, 1885. Sallie (Minot) Nichols d. in Hampstead, 1902. (See photo of Mr. Nichols in Vol. 1.) They had children :- -

Lyman Worthen, b. in Hampstead, 1808, a son of Oliver Worthen, b. in Vermont, and wife Lydia -, b. in Maine. He was admitted to the church, " by confession and bap- tism, aged 20," Jan. 6, 1828. Their son, Lyman Worthen, resides in Haverhill, where he has for many years been con- nected with the fire department.

Sarah Kimball, b. in Hampstead, Feb. 1, 1764, a daughter of Moses and Sarah (Webster) Kimball. She married Joshua Hale Noyes of Hampstead, Dec. 17, 1778. She was

Theodore Tarlton, b. in Exeter, son of John and Ruth (Flander) Tarlton (see 307). He married, first, Belinda Little (No. 277), and married, second, Mary Stevens (No. 311). He was admitted to the church by confession and baptism, March 2, 1828. He removed to Peoria, Liverpool, and Canton, Ill., where he was an agent for the sale of land. The church passed the following letter, April 20, 1834: " This is to certify that Theodore Tarlton and Belinda, his wife, are members of the Congregational and Orthodox or Evangelical Church, in Hampstead, N. H., in good standing, and as they are about to remove to the western country, or into the State of Illinois, they are hereby recommended to unite with any Evangelical, Congregational, or Presbyterian church that may hereafter be found in the place of their future residence. And whenever we have ascertained that they have united with the church of Christ, to walk in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, we shall consider them as dismissed from this church. By order of the church, John Kelly, pastor, and John Emerson, a deacon."

stead. He married Almira, daughter of Lorenzo Batchelder of Hampstead. Ile was admitted to the church, by confes- sion and baptism, " aged 16 years, March 2, 1828, and was dismissed at his own request from change of views," April 21, 1833. He was a carpenter by trade, and lived and died, July. 1853, in Manchester, where he was buried.

Richard Kimball Brickett, b. in Hampstead, July 18, 1808, a son of James and Anna ( Wheeler) Brickett (Nos. 224, 225). He married Nabby Kimball Kent ( No. 263). He was admitted to the church as aged 19, by confession, March 2, 1828. Ile was a carpenter by trade, and d. in Hampstead, Aug. 3, 1881, and was buried in the village cemetery. (See photo of Mr. Brickett in Vol. 1.)

Moody Hill Brickett, b. in Hampstead, Oct. 10, 1813, a son of James and Anna (Wheeler) Brickett (Nos. 224,225). He married Laura A. Putnam ( No. 384). He was admitted to the church by confession, Nov., 1828, and was dismissed and recommended to the church at Newport, Feb. 1, 1838 : readmitted to the Hampstead church, 1840, and dismissed and recommended to the church in Claremont, April, 1841, and received again from the Claremont church, October, 1844, and dismissed to the Second Congregational Church in Haverhill, Mass., December, 1856, and received from the Winter Street Church in Haverhill, July 1, 1859, and dis- missed to the North Church of Haverhill, December, 1864. He d. in Haverhill, May 23, 1887, and was buried in Hamp- stead village cemetery. He was a hatter by trade.

Lorenzo Kent, b. in Hampstead, Sept. 3, 1812, a son of Dea. Jonathan and Clarissa ( Page) Kent (Nos. 245, 246). He married Susan Chapin, and resided in Woodstock, Vt. He was admitted to the church, age 15, by confession, March 2, 1828, and recommended to the church at Claremont, Aug. 27, 1841. They had six children, three d. young :-

II. William Edwin, m. in California, living in San Dimas, Calif.

Jonathan Page Kent, b. in Hampstead, Sept. 1, 1814, a son of Jonathan and Clarissa ( Page) Kent ( Nos. 245, 246). He married Ann Taylor, and resided in Boston, Mass. He was admitted to the church, as age 13, by confession, March 2, 1828. Ile was dismissed to unite with the church in South Boston, Aug. 21, 1836. They had children :-
I. Elbridge L., m., first, Diantha Tidd. He was a baker of Law- rence, Mass. They had four children. He married, second, Emma Foye, of Methuen, Mass., and had three children.

She was ad- mitted to the church as a widow, May 4. 1828. At church meeting it was voted, Nov. 7, 1734, "having removed to Newport, and being a member of the church in Hampstead. are, at their own request, hereby recommended to the Con- gregational Church in Newport, and on receiving intelli- gence that they are received there, they will be considered as dismissed from this church." Their only child was : Abigail Atkinson Emerson (No. 280).

Louisa Brickett, b. in Hampstead, March 8, 1811, a daughter of James and Anna ( Wheeler) Brickett ( Nos. 224, 225). She mar. as the second wife of Otis Little, son of Moses and Anna (Chase ) Little of West Newbury, May 20, 1858. She was adm. to the church by confession, May 4. 1828, and at her request, was dis. and rec. to the First Congregational Church, in West Newbury, Sept., 1858. She d. in West Newbury, Dec. 28, 1858. and was buried there.

Caroline French, b. in Hampstead, Aug. 4, 1808, a daughter of Joseph, Jr., and Molly ( Tilton) French (Nos. 173. 174). She was adm. to the church by confession, May 4, 1828, dis. and rec. to the church at Kingston. N. H., July, 1853. She d. August 23, 1890, and was buried in Hamp- stead village cemetery. He was adm. to the church May 4, 1828, dis. and rec. to the church at Amesbury, and Salisbury Mills, Mass., Feb. 24, 1834. Ile d. Sept. 3, 1834, and was buried in Princeton, Ill.

She was adm. to the church May 4, 1828, by baptism, and by confession. She died in Hampstead, and was buried in the village cemetery (see p. 351, 352. Vol. 1).

Hannah Johnson, b. in Hampstead, July 1, 1780, a dangh- ter of Jesse and Priscilla ( Kimball ) Johnson. His parents were Hon. John and Sarah (Haynes) Johnson, who were among the first settlers, and proprietors of Enfield, and at one time of Hampstead. Jesse was b. in the North Parish of llaverhill, Mass., Oct. 20, 1732; d. Mar. 11, 1780. She was adm. to the church May 4, 1828, by baptism and con- fession, and in Oct. 2, 1837, dis. and rec. to the church in Methuen, Mass.

Mary Ann Mooers, b. in Exeter, March 13, 1812, a daughter of Edmund and Hannah (Brickett ) Mooers (No. 409) of Hampstead. She was mar. to Thomas Kent (No. 269) by the Rev. John Kelly, May 12, 1831. She was adm. to the church May 4, 1828, by baptism and confession, dis. and ree. to the church at Pembrooke, April 10, 1834. She d. March 7, 1848, aged 36 years. They had children.

George Washington Little, b. in Hampstead, Aug. 12, 1810, a son of Nathaniel and Abiah (Emerson) Little (Nos. 255, 256). He mar. Louisa L. Lord of Lyman, Maine, Oct. 2, 1834. He left Hampstead, at an early age, and went to Boston, as a clerk in a store, and in 1834, moved to Farm- ington, Ill., where he resided until his death.
He was justice of the peace, and police magistrate many years, school treasurer of the township for forty years, and member of the church for about sixty years : after he was admitted to the Hampstead church May 4, 1828, he was dis. and rec. by a vote as follows : " April 20, 1834, recommended by John Kelly, pastor :- This is to certify that George W. Little is a member of the Congrega- tional and Orthodox, or Evangelical church, in Hampstead, in good standing, and as he is about to remove into the State of Illinois, he is hereby recommended to unite with any Evangelical, Congregational, or Presbyterian church that may be found, or that may hereafter be formed in the place of his abode, and whenever we have ascertained that he has thus united with the Church of Christ in all its com-

mandments and ordinances of the Lord, we shall consider him as dismissed from the church."
Ile was a member of the choir in Farmington, Ill., for a great many years as a leader. They had children :-
I. Louisa Jane, b. July 10, 1835; m. Anthony W. Richards; a leading merchant in Farmington, Ill., for over twenty years, and had children-Carrie B., Walter C., and George L.
II. Frances Helen, b. Dec. 13, 1836; d. young.
III. Belinda Tarlton, b. May 11, 1839; m. Everett R. Breed of Farm- ington: had children-Stella II., Meta W., and Fred B.
IV. Alfred Herman, b. March 8, 1841; d. young.
V. Carrie Alice, b. Sept. 24, 1843; m. David Schoonmaker of Fay- ette, Iowa. Children-Carrie and Fred.
VI. Robert Franklin, b. March 27. 1845; m. Mary C. Browning, of Unionville, Missouri, and had children-Louisa B., Fanny R., Maria E., and Laura HI. At the age of seventeen he entered the Union army, and served till the end of the war. He was a lawyer by profession, and was clerk of courts in Putnam county, Iowa.
VII. Nathaniel, b. Sept. 27. 1846; m. Evangeline Croy, of Boone county, Iowa. He served in the civil war. They had chil- dren-Frank C., Florence B., George W., and Clifford.

Thomas Tarlton, b. in Exeter, December, 1809, son of John and Ruth (Flanders) Tarlton, of Stratham. He was admitted to the church by baptism and confession, May 4, 1828 ; dismissed to the church at South Boston, Mass., " be- fore Feb. 24, 1834."

Jesse Emery Emerson, b. in Hampstead, Oct. 29, 1805, a son of John, Jr., and Betsey ( Emery) Emerson (Nos. 241, 242). He married Mary E. Morrison (No. 354). He was admitted to the church July 6, 1828. Dismissed to the church in Canaan, July 10, 1835, and again received in the Hampstead church from the church in Canaan, Aug. 25, 1838 (see p. 368, Vol 1). He died in Hampstead. at the

home where his son, Alfred P. Emerson, now resides, Oct. 12, 1871, aged 66 years, and was buried in the village ceme- tery.

Nabby Kimball Calef, b. in Hampstead, June 6, 1810, a daughter of Joseph and Margaret (MeKensie ) Calef (see No. 108). She was admitted to the church July 6, 1828, and d. about 1850, unmarried.
No. 310.
Mary Dodge, b. in Londonderry, Feb. 12, 1776. a daugh- ter of Parker and Mary (Little ) Dodge (see No. 6). She married Hart Merrill, who married, as his first wife, Peggy Knight of Atkinson, who were parents of Haskell Merrill, of Lynn, Mass. ; living with his daughter, Mrs. Carrie H. Smith. She was admitted to the church as a widow, March 1, 1829, and d. in Derry, at an old age, about 1867.

Mary Stevens, b. in Hampstead, May 4, 1800, a daughter of Moses and Mary (Green) Stevens of Kingston. She married Theodore Tarlton as his second wife (No. 289). She was admitted to the church from the church at Corinth, Vt., May 3, 1829, and d. in Hampstead. Feb. 17, 1830, leaving a son George. baptized July 15, 1827.
