By virtue of this warrant I have served the within warrant by posting attested copies in ten public places in said town seven days before the time of said meeting.

In pursuance of the foregoing warrant, the inhabitants of the Town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections, met in Village Hall, in said town on Thursday, the twenty-eighth day of De- cember, A. D. 1911, at eight o'clock in the afternoon and were called to order by the Moderator; the Town Clerk then read the warrant calling the meeting and the return of the officer who served the same upon the inhabitants.
Art. 1. On motion by Mr. William F. Baker:
Voted: That the water mains be extended on Washington street from Ellis avenue to the house of Peter Fisher, subject to the usual guaranty, and that the sum of eleven hundred (1100) dollars be appropriated from the Water Commissioners' Treasury for said purpose.

Art. 2. On motion by Mr. Ralph E. Bullard :
Voted: That the town borrow and appropriate seven hundred (700) dollars to be raised by tax in 1912 for the purpose of con- tinuing the evening school, authorized by vote of the town, September 28, 1911, so that it may be in session for a period of twenty weeks.

Art. 3. On motion by Mr. Cornelius M. Callahan:
Voted that the town borrow and appropriate from the taxes of 1912 the sum of two hundred and fifty (250) dollars in addition to the amount appropriated at the adjourned town meeting held April 3, 1911, for the purpose of conveying children living- in the outlying districts to the Norwood schools, to be expended under the direction of the School Committee.

Art. 4. On motion by Mr. George Harding Smith :
Voted: That the town borrow and appropriate the sum of (500) dollars, in addition to the amount appropriated at the ad- journed town meeting held April 3, 1911, for the support of the schools.
Art. 5. On motion by Mr. G. Harding Smith, amended by Mr. George F. Willett :
Voted: That the moderator appoint a committee of three to secure options on land suitable for a twelve room school house and playground which will provide suitable school accommoda- tions for the Balch School district or in that vicinity ; said com- mittee to report at the annual town meeting to be held in March, 1912.
Art. 6. On motion by Mr. Cornelius M. Callahan:
Voted: That the town accept the provisions of section 15 of Chapter 49 of the Revised Laws relative to the appointment of sewer assessments as amended by Section 1 of Chapter 177

of the acts of the year 1907 and by Section 1 of Chapter 356 of the Acts of the year 1908 and by Section 1 of Chapter 330 of the Acts of the year 1910.
Art. 7. On motion by Mr. James W. Conger :
Voted: That Adams street from Railroad avenue. to Roose- velt avenue as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is ac- cepted and approved, and that the appropriation of money to build the same be postponed to a later town meeting.
Art. 8. On motion by Mr. James W. Conger:
Voted: That Chickering road from Walpole street to the westerly boundary of the land of Clara W. Berwick as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is accepted and that the sum of two hundred and twenty (220) dollars be borrowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 to build the same.
Art. 9. On motion by Mr. James W. Conger:
Voted: That North avenue extending 525 feet westerly from Nahatan street as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is accepted and that the appropriation of money to build the same be postponed to a later town meeting.
Art. 10. On motion by Mr. James W. Conger:
Voted: That Eliot street extension for a distance of 860 feet northwesterly from Highland street as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is accepted and that the appropriation of money to build the same be postponed to a later town meeting.

Voted: That Crescent avenue from Eliot street extension to a proposed street called Pond street as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is accepted and that the appropriation of money to build the same be postponed to a later town meeting.

Voted: That Walnut avenue extension from Walpole street to Highland street as laid out by the Selectmen be and hereby is accepted and that the sum of five hundred (500) dollars be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appropriated to build the same.

Voted: That Marion avenue extending from, Bright street northwesterly 690 feet to a proposed street known as Charles street as laid out by the Selectmen, be and hereby is accepted and that the appropriation of money to build the same be post- poned to a later town meeting.
Art. 15. On motion by Mr. James W. Conger:
Voted: That Charles street extending 260 feet southwesterly from Florence avenue to Marion avenue as laid out by the Selectmen, be and hereby is accepted and that the appropria- tion of money to build the same be postponed to a later town meeting.
Art. 16. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn :
Voted: That all sidewalk assessments shall bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum from the 30th day after such assessments become due until paid in accordance with the pro- visions of Chapter 49 of the Revised Laws.
Art. 17. On motion by Mr. Eben F. Gay :
Voted: That the water mains be extended on East Cross street from Pleasant street 1235 feet and that the sum of fifteen hun- dred (1500) dollars be appropriated from the Water Commis- sioners treasury for said purpose subject to the usual guaranty.

Voted: That the water mains be extended on Neponset street

Voted: That the water mains be extended on Marion street from Bright street to Charles street subject to the usual guaranty and that the sum of eight hundred (800) dollars be appropriated from the Water Commissioners' treasury for said purpose.

Voted: That the water mains be extended on Walpole street from the present southerly end to house of Mr. McCollough subject to the usual guaranty and that the sum of five hundred (500) dollars be appropriated from the Water Commissioners' treasury for said purpose.
Art. 21. On motion by Mr. John F. Callahan:
Voted: That the water mains be extended on Adams street from Railroad avenue to Roosevelt avenue subject to the usual guaranty and that the sum of fifteen hundred and six dollars and thirty-two cents ($1506.32) be appropriated from the Water Commissioners' treasury for said purpose.

Voted: That the water mains be extended on Chickering road for a distance of 240 feet from Walpole street subject to the usual guaranty and that the sum of three hundred and twenty-five (325) dollars be appropriated from the Water Commissioners' treasury for said purpose.

Voted: That the water mains be extended on Crescent avenue from Eliot street extension to Pond street subject to the usual guaranty and that the sum of three hundred ninety-six dollars and fourteen ($396.14) be appropriated from the Water Com- missioners' treasury for said purpose.

Voted: That the sum of seven hundred (700) dollars be bor- rowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appropriated for the support of the poor, said sum to be in addition to the sum heretofore raised and appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 27. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn:
Voted: That of the sum raised and appropriated the present- year for paving gutters the sum of thirty-five dollars and sixty- eight cents ($35.68) be and hereby is transferred and appro- priated for the purpose of sanding sidewalks, said sum to be in addition to the amount heretofore raised and appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 28. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn:
Voted: That the sum of fifteen hundred (1500) dollars be bor- rowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appropriated for the suppression of gypsy and brown tail moths and pests, said sum to be in addition to the amount heretofore raised and ap- propriated for said purpose, whatever portion of said sum that.

Art. 29. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn:
Voted: That the sum of one hundred and fifty (150) dollars be borrowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appro- priated for salaries of election officers and incidental expenses, such sum to be in addition to the sums heretofore raised and appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 30. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn:
Voted: That the sum of three hundred (300) dollars be bor- rowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appropriated to the payment of the unpaid balance of the bill for the printing of the list of assessed polls and estates for the year 1910, said sum to be in addition to the sum heretofore appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 31. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn:
Voted: That the sum of fifty (50) dollars be borrowed to be raised by tax in the year 1912 and appropriated for incidental expenses of the Board of Assessors, said sum to be in addition to the sums heretofore appropriated for said purpose.

Voted: That article thirty-two be indefinitely postponed.
