Voted: That Section 19 of the By-laws of the Department of Buildings relating to the prevention of fire and the preser- vation of life be and the same hereby is amended, by striking out the second paragraph of Section 19 and inserting in place thereof the following: Roofs, forty pounds, floors, in ware-

houses and manufactories, two hundred pounds; in mercantile or similar buildings, one hundred pounds; in public buildings, one hundred and twenty-five pounds; in offices, eighty pounds, in dwellings, fifty pounds and in schoolhouses, eighty pounds.

Voted: To reconsider the action taken under article two of the warrant of special town meeting held December 20th, A.D. 1912.
On motion by Mr. James E. Pendergast,
Voted: That the action taken under Article 2 of the warrant for the special town meeting held December 20th, 1912, relating to new twelve-room schoolhouse construction loan be and hereby is reconsidered and be it further voted that the action originally taken at said special town meeting held December 20th, 1912, under said Article 2 of the warrant for said meeting be and hereby is confirmed in all respects except in respect to the date of payment of the last note authorized to be issued under said article which date is hereby changed from December 30th, 1933 to December 30th, 1932, so that said vote as confirmed and changed shall be and remain as follows :-
Voted: That the town build a twelve-room schoolhouse of brick and concrete construction on the land owned by the town on Washington street, in the Balch School district so-called at a cost not to exceed fifty-seven thousand (57,000) dollars and that the Town Treasurer be and hereby is authorized and directed to borrow said sum on notes of the town as follows :-
Notes: Nineteen notes of two thousand nine hundred (2,900) dollars each, payable one note on the 30th of December of each year of a period of 19 years beginning with the year 1913 and one note of one thousand nine hundred (1,900) dollars payable December 30th, 1932 with interest payable semi-annually on

the 30th days of June and December of each year at a rate not to exceed 4 1-4 per cent per annum and that the money so raised be appropriated to meet the expense of building said schoolhouse.

Greeting :-
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to assemble in Everett Hall, in said Town, on Thursday, June 19th, 1913, at eight o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :-
Art. 1. To see if the town will vote to ratify, confirm and consent to the action taken under article 38 of the annual town meeting warrant for 1913 at the adjourned session of said meeting held April 14th, 1913, whereby it was voted under said article as follows :-

" That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Sewer Commissioners be and hereby is authorized to sell Fifty Thou- sand (50,000) dollars of coupons of the Town, for one Thousand (1,000) Dollars each, bearing interest at the rate of 4 per cent per annum payable semi-annually in accordance with and under provisions of Chapter 90 of the Acts of the Legislature for the year 1913 entitled " An Act to authorize the Town of Norwood to incur additional indebtedness for sewerage purposes "; said bonds shall be dated the first day of December, 1912, and shall be payable in successive annual instalments of two thou- sand (2,000) dollars each on the first day of December beginning with the year 1913; said bonds shall bear on their face the words, " Norwood Sewerage Loan, Act of 1913," and shall be signed by the Treasurer and countersigned by a majority of the Sewer Commissioners; all other particulars as to the form, issuance and sale of said bonds shall be determined by the town treasurer "or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 2. To see if the town will vote to ratify, confirm and consent to the action taken under each and all of the several articles of the annual town meeting warrant for 1913 at the adjourned sessions of said meetings held on April 7th, 1913, and April 14th, 1913, or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 3. To see if the town will vote to construct a granolithic sidewalk on the southerly side of Bond street from Walpole street to and including the property of C. E. Cook, and raise and appropriate money for the same or take any other action in the matter. (On petition of George F: Reynolds and others.)
Art. 4. To see if the town will vote to abate the excess water rate 1912 and 1913. (On petition of Roy F. Fairbanks and others.)
Art. 5. To see if the town will vote to construct a grano- lithic sidewalk on the westerly side of Washington street in

Art. 6. To see what sum the town will raise and appropriate to meet payment of premium on insurance in addition to the amounts already appropriated.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting at- tested copies in ten public places in this town, seven days at least before the day of said meeting. Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Selectmen, on or before the time and day of said meeting.

In pursuance of the foregoing warrant, the inhabitants of the town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections, met in Everett Hall, in said town, on Thursday the nineteenth day of June A.D. 1913 at eight o'clock in the afternoon and were called to order by the Moderator; the town clerk then read the warrant calling the meeting and the return of the officer who served the same upon the inhabitants.
Sewer Bonds Ratified and Confirmed. Unanimous Vote.
Art. 1. On motion by Mr. James A. Hartshorn,
Voted: That the action taken under article 38 of the annual town meeting warrant for 1913 at the adjourned session of said meeting held April 14th, 1913, whereby it was voted under said article as follows :----

Sidewalk on Bond Street.
Art. 3. On motion by Mr. Albin K. Parker,
Voted: That the town construct a granolithic sidewalk 4 feet wide on the southerly side of Bond street, from Walpole street to and including the property of C. E. Cook, and raise and appropriate the sum of three hundred and ten dollars and forty cents (310.40) under the betterment act for said purpose.
Art. 4. On motion by Mr. Albin K. Parker.
Voted: That article four (4) be indefinitely postponed.
Sidewalk Washington Street.
Art. 5. On motion by Mr. Albin K. Parker,
Voted: That the town construct a granolithic sidewalk 5 feet wide, on the westerly side of Washington street in front of the property of Abraham Deeb, for a distance of about 60 feet from the corner of Cedar street, or Wellington avenue, a private way so called, and raise and appropriate the sum of eighty-three dollars and thirty-three cents (83.33) under the betterment act for said purpose.
Insurance.
Art. 6. On motion by Mr. James E. Pendergast,
Voted: That the sum of two hundred and seventy-six dollars and seventy-five cents ($276.75) be raised and appropriated to meet payment of premium due on insurance on town property under the blanket policies, said sum to be in addition to the

amounts appropriated for this purpose for the year 1913. And be it further voted that the sum of three hundred fifty (350) dollars be raised and appropriated to meet payment of insurance due on account of new twelve-room schoolhouse now being constructed.

In pursuance of the foregoing warrant the inhabitants of the Town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections, met in Village Hall, in said town, on Tuesday the 23rd day of September A. D. 1913, and were called to order at three o'clock in the afternoon by the Town Clerk who then read the warrant calling the meet- ing and the return of the officer thereon who served the same upon the inhabitants. James A. Hartshorr, chairman of the Board of Selectmen, took charge of the meeting after the read- ing of the warrant and acted as presiding officer. In conformity with the laws of the Commonwealth in relation to elections, Village Hall had been fitted up as a polling place, a space railed off and compartments provided for the use and convenience of the voters to examine and mark their ballots. Each com- partment was supplied with suitable facilities for the purpose and with cards of instruction. The following were appointed by the Selectmen and were sworn to the faithful performance of their duties by the town clerk.

Greeting :--
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to assemble in Everett Hall, in said town, on Thursday, September 25th, 1913, at eight o'clock in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles, namely :
Article 1. To see if the town will vote to rebuild Chapel street from old Washington street to Winslow avenue and raise or borrow and appropriate money for said purpose or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 2. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the maintenance and repairs of highways and for the removal of snow and ice, said sum to be in addition to the amounts already appropriated for said pur- poses or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 3. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the purpose of watering and treating streets, the same to be in addition to the amount already appro- priated for said purpose or take any other action in the matter.

Art. 4. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the purpose of constructing and graveling Heaton avenue as accepted by the town by vote under Article 18 of the warrant for the annual town meeting, or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 5. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the purpose of constructing and graveling Sturtevant avenue as accepted by the town by vote under Article 17 of the warrant for the annual town meeting or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 6. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the construction and graveling of Pond avenue as accepted under Article 19 of the warrant for the an- nual town meeting, or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 7. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate to gravel the street and sidewalk of Oak road for a distance of about seven hundred (700) feet, or take any other action in the matter.
On petition of George H. O'Brien and others.
Art. 8. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for completing alterations at the town lock-up, the town office building, and Central Fire Station, said sum to be in addition to the amounts already appropriated for said purposes, or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 9. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to dispose by sale or otherwise of the buildings owned by the town located on Market street on the property purchased from Mr. Willett or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 10. To see if the town will vote to extend the water main on Pleasant street from the present end to a point near

the junction of said Pleasant street with the proposed extension of Lenox avenue, said extension to be subject to the usual guarantee, and to raise or borrow and appropriate money for said purpose.
Art. 11. To see if the town will vote to extend the water main on Phillips avenue, subject to the usual guarantee, and to raise or borrow and appropriate money for said purpose.
Art. 12. To see what sum the town will vote to appropriate from the receipts from the sewer assessments for the purpose of meeting the principal on sewer bonds issued and maturing in 1913, as well as the interest payable on all sewer bonds issued in said 1913.
Art. 13. To see if the town will vote to transfer the un- expended balance of the appropriation for the construction of a granolithic sidewalk on Hoyle street, amounting to one hundred sixty-nine dollars and eighty cents ($169.80) and appropriate the same as follows :-
For the completion of the sidewalk construction on Bond street the sum of thirty-five (35.00) dollars, the same being in addition to the amount previously appropriated for said purpose.
For the completion of the sidewalk on the westerly side of Washington street in front of the property of Abraham Deeb, the sum of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50), the same being in addition to the amount previously appropriated for said purpose.
For the repairs of highways the sum of one hundred twenty- seven dollars and thirty cents ($127.30), the same being in addition to the amounts previously appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 14. To see if the town will vote to transfer the unex- pended balance of the appropriation for the sidewalk at the corner of Dean and Washington streets, amounting to twenty- four dollars and seventy cents ($24.70), and appropriate the

same to the repairs of highways, the same to be in addition to the amounts previously appropriated for said purpose.
Art. 15. To see if the town will vote to transfer the unex- pended balance of the appropriation for the construction of a inain drain and catch basin on Concord avenue, amounting to three hundred fifty (350.00) dollars and appropriate the same for the repairs of highways, said sum to be in addition to the amounts previously appropriated for said purpose.
Art 16. To see if the town will vote to transfer the sum of one thousand (1,000.00) dollars of the amount appropriated for the support of the poor and appropriate the same for the repairs of highways, said sum to be in addition to the amounts previously appropriated for said purposes.
Art. 17. To see what sum the town will vote to raise or bor- row and appropriate, for the purpose of removing the trees on the easterly side of Washington street, from Nahatan street to Railroad avenue, or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 18. To see if the town will vote to accept the drain extending westerly from Prospect street through the lands of Herbert W. Rhodes and others, as laid out by the Board of Sewer Commissioners or take any other action in the matter.
Art. 19. To see if the town will vote to extend the sewer system on Walpole street from Winter street to Walnut avenue, and raise or borrow and appropriate money for the same.
