Parker, That the sum of two thousand five hundred (2500) dollars be raised and appropriated for payment of electric light loan note, due the present fiscal year, and that the further sum of eight thousand, three hundred sixty-seven dollars and seventeen cents (8367.17) be appropriated from the earnings of the present fiscal year and from the balance on hand at the beginning of the present year, for the Municipal Light Department for the current fiscal year, for the following purposes, namely :---

Evening School.


Art. 20. Voted: On motion by Mr. George H. Smith: That the sum of three thousand (3000) dollars be raised and appro- priated to maintain an evening school.


Sewer, Pleasant Street District.


Art. 37. Voted: On motion by Mr. Milton H. Howard: That the Board of Sewer Commissioners be and are hereby authorized to proceed with the construction of the system of sewerage of the town into and throughout the Pleasant Street Pumping District, which has been approved by the State Board of Health, and to make all necessary contracts therefor and to perform all necessary acts in the name and behalf of the town, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90 of the Acts of the Legislature for the year 1913, and that said board be au- thorized to construct forthwith the sewer beds, pumping station and such intercepting and street sewers as follows :-


Washington Street from Dean Street to Concord Avenue; Concord Avenue from Washington Street to end; Tremont Street from Washington Street to end; Austin Street from Washington Street to Hartford Street; Hartford Street from Austin Street to Tremont Street; St. James Avenue from Washington Street to field line; field line and Pond Street from St. James Avenue to Dean Street; Heaton Avenue from Washington Street to Pond Street; Sturtevant Avenue from

Bonds or Notes For Sewerage in Pleasant Street District.


Art. 38. Voted: On motion by Mr. Milton H. Howard, That the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Sewer Com- missioners be and hereby is authorized to sell fifty thousand (50,000) dollars of coupon bonds of the town for one thousand (1,000) dollars each bearing interest at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum payable semi-annually in accordance with and under the provisions of Chapter 90 of the Acts of the Legislature for the year 1913 entitled " An Act to authorize the Town of Nor- wood to incur additional indebtedness for sewerage purposes; " said bonds shall be dated the first day of May, 1913 and shall be payable in successive annual instalments of two thousand (2000) dollars each on the first day of December beginning with the year 1913; said bonds shall bear on their face the words " Norwood Sewerage Loan, Act of 1913 " and shall be signed by the Treasurer and countersigned by a majority of the Sewer Commissioners; all other particulars as to the form, issuance and sale of said bonds shall be determined by the Town Treasurer.

Pursuant with adjournment the inhabitants of the town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections, met in Village Hall, in said town on Monday, April 14th, A.D. 1913 and Section 3 of Article 1 of the By-laws having been complied with were called to order by the Moderator, at eight o'clock in the evening.


Reconsidered.


Art. 10, Sec. 6. Voted: On motion by Mr. Albin K. Parker, To reconsider section six of article ten.


Tax to be Collected.


Voted: That the Tax Collector be, and hereby is instructed to collect all uncollected taxes, on or before August 1st, 1913. And further voted that the Tax Collector be and hereby is instructed to collect all poll taxes for the year 1913, on or before Novem- ber 1st, 1913, when a poll tax only is assessed; and that the property tax for the year 1913 be collected and turned over to the Treasurer on or before January 31st, 1914.


Voted: On motion by Mr. Albin K. Parker, That the sum of eleven hundred (1100) dollars be raised and appropriated under this section; that the salary of the Collector of Taxes be in- creased from $500 to $700; and that the balance of $400 be

Art. 23. Voted: On motion by Mr. Milton H. Howard, That the sum of eight hundred (800) dollars be raised and appro- priated for the purpose of repairing and graveling Highview Street and Upton Avenue, and paving gutters on Highview Street.


Water Hydrant.


Art. 24. Voted: On motion by Mr. Charles W. Rich, That the sum of fifteen (15) dollars be appropriated from the treasury of the Water Department for the purpose of relocating the water hydrant situated near the house of Adolph Swanson on the westerly side of Broadway.

Nutting, That the 'sum of two hundred and twenty-five (225) dollars be raised and appropriated for the purpose of removing the trees on the easterly side of Washington Street, from Day Street to Railroad Avenue, and be expended under the direction of the Selectmen.


Sidewalk on west Side of Washington Street, N. O. F. Block to Cottage Street.


Art. 32. Voted: On motion by Dr. F. H. Nutting, That the Selectmen be instructed to repair the sidewalk on the westerly side of Washington Street, from the New Odd Fellows Block to Cottage Street, at an expense not exceeding twenty (20) dol- lars, and that this amount be taken from the general highway appropriation.

Sewer on Phillips Avenue.


Arts. 35 and 36. Voted: That Arts. 35 and 36 be considered jointly, and that the sum of six thousand fifty-nine dollars (6,059.64)and sixty-four cents be appropriated from the treas- ury of the Sewer Department for the extension of the sewer system on Phillips Avenue, from Winslow Avenue to Walpole Street, and for the construction of additional filter beds.

Hyde & Sons to the extent of one-half the cost to it of the construction of a pipe drain across Washington Street, extending from the Cedar Street drain to the culvert drain which is a part of the old Robbins drain, so-called.

Hill Street.


Art. 44. Voted: On motion by Mr. Eugene M. Sullivan, That the sum of four hundred (400) dollars be raised and appro- priated for the construction of a gravel sidewalk on the easterly side of Hill Street, from Railroad Avenue to the house of

Charles O'Dell, and the committee recommend that the matter of completing the construction of the lower end of Hill Street be taken up by the Board of Selectmen with the owners of abutting property looking to the extension of the street for drainage.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT.

Norfolk, ss.


To either of the Constables of the Town of Norwood, in said County :


Greeting :--


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Norwood, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to assemble in Village Hall, in said town, on Monday, the four- teenth day of April, A.D. 1913, at seven forty-five o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to act on the following acticles, namely :


Article 1. To see if the town will vote to extend the fire alarm system to a point on Adams street and also to the Pros- late mill of F. W. Bird and Sons on Water street and install boxes at said locations and raise and appropriate money for said purpose or take any other action in the matter.


Art. 2. To see if the town will vote to extend the water mains on Walnut avenue extension from Walpole street to the end of the present mains.


Art. 3. To see if the town will vote to extend the water mains on Walpole street about one hundred and fifty (150) feet.
