ANNUAL TOWN MEETING, 1929
You will find all of the appropriations made at the Annual Town Meeting in the Town Accountant's Report taken from an attested list made by the Town Clerk.
Article 1. It was voted unanimously that the Treas- urer with the approval of the Selectmen, be authorized tó borrow money from time to time, in anticipation of revenue of the financial year, January 1 to December 31, 1929, both dates inclusive, and to issue a note or notes therefor, and the indebtedness incurred by reason of the issuance of said note or notes to be provided for from the revenue of said financial year, January 1 to December 31, 1929.
Article 2. It was voted that the town appoint the Selectmen to act in the capacity of agents and attorneys of the Town, to prosecute, defend and compromise any and all suits in which the Town may be in any manner interested as a party or otherwise, except insofar as the same relate in any manner to the water supply, and to employ counsel if necessary.

TOWN OF RANDOLPH, MASS.
Article 3. It was voted that the Water Commis- sioners be authorized and instructed to act in the capacity of agents and attorneys of the Town, to prosecute and defend any and all suits and proceedings in which the Town may be interested as a party or otherwise, so far as the same in any manner relates to the preserving, taking, and use of the water of Great Pond, or to the con- struction of the water works, either jointly or separate- ly, as authorized under Chapter 217 of the Acts of 1885, and to employ counsel if necessary.
Article 9. It was voted that the Selectmen be in- structed to appoint a Police Officer, the salary of which is provided for under Article 4.
Article 12. It was voted that the laborers employed by the town be compensated as follows:
Snow Removal Work
Day work between the hours of 7 A. M. and 5 P. M.
Laborers-Sixty (60) cents per hour.
Horses-Fifty (50) cents per hour.
Nightwork between the hours of 5 P. M. and 7 A. M.
Laborers-Time and one-half; viz., at (90) ninety cents.
Horses-Time and one-half; viz., at (75) seventy- five cents per hour.
Laborers employed for all other purposes :
Sixty (60) cents per hour straight time for day and night work.
Only residents of Randolph and naturalized citizens of the United States are to be employed in any Depart- ment.
Article 13. It was voted that a committee of five (5) be appointed by the Moderator to consider and report on a better means of electing a Finance Committee.

Article 14. It was voted that a committee of five (5), two of which shall be Town Officers and three (3). private citizens of the town, be appointed by the Mod- erator to compile a report of the existing town by-laws with a proposed list of amendments and additions thereto.
Article 19. It was voted that a committee of five (5) be appointed, composed of the Board of Health and two (2) citizens, to be appointed by the Moderator, to make a study of the drainage problems in the Town and that the sum of $300 be raised and appropriated to the use of the committee and for other purposes.
Article 21. It was voted that the Town instruct the Selectmen to appoint an additional police Officer accord- ing to the Civil Service rules and regulations.
