THOMAS CILLEY [SILLEY or SEELEY] (Richard ?? ),¿ of 6 Hampton and Hampton Falls, "sea captain"; m. ANN3 STANYAN (2 John2), who was b. 1678. Children :

9 III ABIGAIL, b. April 19, 1700[D Hm].
10 IV JOSEPH, b. Oct. 6, 1701[D Hm]. Brown's Hist. Hm. Falls states that . he rem. to Nottingham and was grandfather of Gen. Cilley.
11 v ANNE, b. -; m. Jan. 8, 1719[Hm F], Samuel Blake.
12 VI THOMAS, b. -; m. March 7, 1729, Abigail Knowlton.
* Hugh Gunisson of Kittery d. ab. 1659-60, leaving wid. Sarah and sons-in- law William Seely and William Rogers. Wm. Seeley bought land in Kittery of his father-in-law in 1658-9.
t Me. Genealogist and Biographer, Vol. 2, 1876, pp. 123-4. It has been thought that Richard may have been son of Robert Seeley of Watertown 1630, Wethersfield 1636, and other places later; lieut. in Pequot war; wid. Mary adm. est. of Robert, Oct., 1668. We have found no proof of such relationship, however.
# The Maine Genealogist and Biographer gives 6 chil. of Thomas, as above, and makes Thomas and Benoui sons of Richard. It seems more probable that. they were grandsons of John, Wm., or Richard. The genealogy there given makes Martha Cilley who m. (1) JOHN1 CLOUGH a sister of Thomas and Benoni; but she was a wid. Cilley, and prob. b. as early as 1643, perhaps earlier. [See p. 130.] She had a dau. Elizabeth, and may have been mother of Thomas and Benoni.

8 JOHN2 ELDRIDGE [or ELDRED] ( Wm.1?),¿ of Wells, Me., and Yarmouth, Barnstable Co., Mass. ; m. ABIGAIL3 LITTLEFIELD
* The 2d mar. and the two chil. of that mar. are given on the authority of Me. Genealogist. We have not seen the original records. (13) Benoni must then have been nearly 60 years old.
t The Eldredge Gen. says these three were prob. sons of Wm.1; the Ym records were destroyed by fire in 1674.
# The fact that he was living in Yarmouth in 1712 renders it probable that he belonged to that branch of the family. It is possible that he was son of Robert, or even of John of Hampton; but the facts here given show a possible connection between the Colbys of Ames. and the Eldridges of Yarmouth.
