Chil. rec. at Chester: Elizabeth, 4 b. Feb. 9, 1739; Samuel, + b. Jan. 12. 1742; Timothy, 4 b. March 23, 1744; (347) Abigail,4 b. May 14, 1747; (350) Nathan, 4 b. June 16, 1749; (348) Sarah, 4 b. Nov. 16, 1751.

Guard. were ap. at Sm., July 10, 1761, for the 6 chil. last named on p. 723, by which it appears that Daniel was b. 1740-'7. The two lists are not easily harmonized, and there may be some confusion of dates or change of names. If all the names should be retained, the following seems the most probable order: (344) Hannuh,+ b. Dec., 1738, d. young; (344a) Elizabeth, 4 b. Feb., 1739-40; (345) Joseph,4 b. Dec., 1740; (345a) Samuel,4 b. Jan., 1742-3, d. young; (345b) Timothy, + b. March, 1744-5; (346) Daniel,4 b. 1745 or '6; (347) Abigail, 4 b. May, 1747; (350) Nathan, + b. June, 1749; (348) Sarah, 4 b. Nov .. 1751; (349) Samuel, + b. after 1751; (351) Hannah, 4 b. after 1751.

(Continued on page 828.)

CONCLUSION.

The compiler regrets the fragmentary character of much of the present volume. He has, however, felt it desirable to preserve the records he has collected, hoping that some portions may fur- nish materials which other genealogists will use; and that persons with the requisite time, patience, and funds will fill in the details, 'and complete certain lines, where reliable sources of information can be found. The expenditure involved prevents the writer from continuing the work any further.

The persons mentioned on page 387, who rendered valuable assistance in the preparation of the first volume, have generously continued their aid. Thanks are also due to Mr. Edward A. Brown and Mr. John F. Johnson of Amesbury, Mr. Richard A. Sargent of Merrimac, Dr. Wm. H. Davis and Mr. Samuel Morrill of Bos- ton, Prof. Charles F. Richardson and Prof. James F. Colby of Hanover, N. H., Mr. Otis G. Hammond of Concord, N. H., Mr. John Scales of Dover, N. H., Mr. Horace E. Morrill of Dayton, Ohio, and others, for searching and copying records.
