100 GEOFFREY CURRIER. Jeff: Curryer was' a subscriber to Mr. Moody's salary in Portsmouth, 1665-6. Jeffrey Currier was a "fisherman " living at the Isles of Shoals, 1680-'94. It seems certain that the Curriers of the Isles of Shoals were not descended from (1) Richard,' unless (100) Geoffrey was his son, of which we have found no proof, though he was of the right age for that generation.

101 RICHARD CURRIER (per. son of Jeffrey), of the Isles of Shoals, " fisherman," b. ab. 1669; m. between 1688 and 1703, Elizabeth Waymoth [or Warmouth] (James) ;; d. ab. 1708, etc., as on p. 124.

* Given Duvid on A. rec .; evidently an error, shown by chh. and probate rec.

t The first thought, based upon the names of his children, given on p. 124, and the language of the will of Thomas Dimond, given below, is that Elizabeth Waymouth was Richard Currier's second wife, and that a dau. of Thomas

12S IV BENJAMIN, 4 b. -; m. Jan. 5, 1726-7[O R chh], Miriam Roberts. He was bp. Jan. 28, 1721-2, and his wife Miriam bp. Dec. 24, 1727[O R]; she was liv. 1746. He deeded land to a Jeremiah Davis, of Durham,

1735. Son Benj.5 Jr., deed from father, Benj. +, 1748; both res. Dur. 12Sa v JOSEPH+ Jr., b. -; liv. 1743, in Durham.

* These baptisms are recorded as of chil. of Moses, except James, who is called " widower." Many of the baptisms at Oyster River were of adults. When infants were baptized, they were apparently recorded as such. Of course (52) Moses4 may have had children, but the " widower" could not have been his son, and the term Jr. is not used, in any case.

t Another copy gives April 28. The printed list of Durham chh. gives Sept. 28, "Joseph Sen. and Mary Stevens Davis wife."

# Elizabeth was bp. as "sister of David Davis." We have no proof that they were chil. of (27) Joseph.3 Their father may have been (26) Moses,3 or possibly (23) John,3 or they may even belong to some other branch of Davises. The fact that the brother's name is given rather than the father's, may indi- cate that the father was John,3 who was the only one of the bros. who was then dead; but the accounts we have seen do not mention that any son of John3 survived the massacre.

Pike's Journal states that a David Davis was killed by Indians at " Lub- berland," a district of Durham, Aug. 27, 1696. Susanna Durgin was required to take adm. est. of her former husband, David Davis, Jan. 16, 1690-1700. From this it would seem that there were two grandsons of (6) John2 named David+ Davis, unless (125) David and (126) Elizabeth were children of the David killed in 1696.

§ Given " dau. of Joseph," without Sen. or Jr.

/ Solomon and Timothy, children of an Ebenezer Davis, bp. Aug. 10, 1755[Durham].
