[Later records of this portion not copied. ]

Another part of the book was devoted to " Church Censures " and "Absolr- ing and Restoring ye Penitent." On loose leaves were found portions of these records wherein Caleb Hobbs was accused of " Drunkenness and Prophaness &c.," Nov. 4, 1731; suspended from communion Feb. 16, 1731-2; absolved and restored to communion March 25, 1733; but again " suspended from commun- ion at the Lords Table " May 20, 1738, on account of his absenting himself from communion and public worship for a long time, refusing to come before the church, etc.

Dea. Joseph Brown having for a long time absented himself from the Lord's table was called before the church, acknowledged "his error and offence," promised reformation, and. "Was accordingly Recieved," March 18, 1730-1. [He was apparently the one who left a legacy to the church, p. 478.]

Robert Hoit was found guilty of "Excessive Drinking Strong Drink &c.," "suspended therefor from communion at ye Lords Table June 3, 1729, as undr the Head of Chh Censures Page 91. of ye ist Book of Records, may ap- pear." He "did acknowledge his sin, and Profess Repentance before y. Chh." and was "absolved, and Recieved to formr Privileges Lords Day, March 25, 1733. As attests E: March. Past! Vide Chh. Papers."
