TOWN WARRANT.
PLYMOUTH, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Duxbury in said county :-
GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Dux- bury qualified to vote in elections, and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Duxbury, on Monday, the seventh day of March next, at eight o'clock in the forenoon then and there to act on the following articles, viz :
Article I-To choose a Moderator to preside in said meet- ing.
Article 2-To bring in their votes, for three Selectmen for the term of one year; three Assessors for the term of one year; three Overseers of the Poor for the term of one year ; for Town Clerk for one year; for Town Treasurer for one year; for Collector of Taxes for one year; for one person for Board of Health for three years; for Tree Warden for one year ; for one School Committee for three years; for one Highway Surveyor for one year; for one Cemetery Trustee for five years; for three Constables for one year; for two Auditors for one year, all on one ballot, also on the same ballot : Will the Town grant licenses for sale of intoxicat- ing liquors for the ensuing year the vote to be by ballot "Yes" or "No" in answer to the question, "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this Town?"
Article 3-What action will the Town take relative to the appointment of necessary officers not chosen by ballot.
Article 4-To hear the reports of the several Town Offi- cers and committees, and act thereon.
Article 5-Will the Town appropriate one hundred dol- lars to be expended under the direction of William Wads- worth Post, No. 165, G. A. R., for the observance of Me- morial Day.
Article 6-To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to defray Town charges for the ensuing year.
Article 7-To revise and accept the list of Jurors as pre- pared by the Selectmen.
Article 8-Will the Town accept the bequest of the late Joseph B. Emerson amounting to Five Hundred Dollars, the income to be used annually for the care of his burial lot in Mayflower Cemetery, and any balance remaining to be used for the care and improvement of the lot of his father, the late Gorham Emerson, in the same cemetery.
Article 9-Will the Town appropriate a sum of money to carry out the proposition contained in the report of the Cem- etery Trustees relative to the Weston lot in Mayflower Cem- etery.
Article 10-Will the Town reconsider the vote whereby they voted to adopt the Australian ballot in Town affairs, and return to the old method. By request.
Article II-Will the Town take any action in regard to the repairs of Gurnet Bridge.
Article 12-Will the Town authorize the Treasurer to hire money in anticipation of taxes.
Article 13-Will the Town take any action in regard to having police on duty every day.
Article 14-Will the Town authorize the purchase of a safe for the Treasurer.
Article 15-Will the Town pay the expense of indemnity bond of Town Treasurer and Collector, to include the years, 1902 and 1903.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting up attested copies thereof, as prescribed by vote of the Town, seven days at least, before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting as aforesaid.
Given under our hands this fifteenth day of February in the year one thousand nine hundred and four ( 1904).
