Record of Precinct Two Town of Boxford Primary Election April 25th, 1916.


Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the in- habitants of Precinct 2 Town of Boxford qualified to rote in Primaries as the law directs assim- bled at the time and place and for the five- hose therein expressed. At 10 o clock in the forenvon the warrant calling the meeting was read by the Precinct black who then publicly opened the ballet box and the same having been examined by the Precinct Officers and the public was found to be empty. The ballot box was then immediately locked the register indicating 000 and the key of the box was taken and retained by Walter I. Chadwick, the Constable in attendance. The Clerk then called upon the inhabitants of said Precinct qualified by law to vote in Primaries at 10 o clock 2 minutes in the forenvon to give in their ballots for the purpose expressed in the warrant.


At 2 velock and- minuter P.M. the holls were closed. The ballet box was found to register Seventeen (17)


The officers in charge of the check lists in the presence of the other officers and the public counted in a distinct and andi ble voice the names checked on said lists. and found the number to be Seventeen (17) The ballot box without being removed


from the public view was then opened by the Warden. The ballots were taken therefrom one by one and andilly counted and the blesk announced the whole number to be Seventeen 17


The precinct officers then proceeded to conn't the votes received by each person with the following result.

For a single house, one dollar and fifty cents a day of nine hours.


For a pair of Horses, three dollars a day of nine hours.

State Primary. September 26, 1916. Pursuant to the requirements of the foregoing Warrant, the inhabitants of Precinct two town of Boxford, qual- ified by law to vote in Primaries and in elections assembled in Lincoln Hall in West Boxford.


The Warrant calling the meeting was read by the Clerk, The ballot box after being examined by the precinct officers and the public and found to be empty, was immediately locked and the key retained by Walter J. Chadwick the Constable in attendance. the register indicating 000. At ten o'clock the presiding officers called upon the persons qualified by law to give in Their ballots for the purpose expressed in the Warrant. At two o clock and five minutes in the afternoon the polls were closed, the register indicating fourteen (4) The ballot box was then opened and the ballets taken therefrom and audibly counted oneby one, in the presence of the officers and the public, and the whole number was found to be forte (4) The officers in charge of the check lists then counted the names checked on said lists and the whole number was found to be fourteen ( 14) The precinct officers then proceeded to count the votes received by each person with the following result.
