He bequeathed {roo to the D. C. at Fishkill, and disposed of land in Middle- bush, derived from his father-in-law, Johannis Van Voorhis. He was an intimate friend of Gen. Washington. He and his wife are buried at the Old Dutch Church in Fishkill Village. On his monument is inscribed :
"Ye pious view this humble shrine: Here lies a friend of God and thinc. In age advanced as you may see Near to the age of eighty-three;
In life his closet was his fare, His house was known a house of prayer; At Jesus' feet in humble strains
