ALFRED HOOGLAND, of C. S., son of William and Mary Vernon, b. Sep. 19, 1818; d. Apl. 11, 1902; m., Dec. 5, 1849, Mary Van Cott, dau. of George and Mary Titus, b. Mch. 29, 1822. She was living June 7, 1903. His funeral was held at W. H., Sunday, Apl. 13, 1902. [NOTE .- Daniel Hoogland Carpenter, son of Benjamin and Sarah Ann Hoogland, died at his home, Maplewood, N. J., on July 27, 1903, a. 75. 3. o. Bd. from the Dutch Reformed Church at Manhasset, L. I. He was a well-known genealogist, and had compiled the records of the Hoogland and Carpenter families. He was for many years engaged in the lumber business in New York and settled at Maplewood in 1867. He and his wife. Hester Van Zile, of N. Y., celebrated their golden wedding on June 22 last. He left five children.]
