Nov. 6, 1880. They were admitted to the church -on confession, July 8, 1818. He was killed by a wagon load of grain passing over him. A letter written by him is in the 2d pamphlet.

"Know all men by these presents that I, Jacobus Luyster of Oyster Bay in Queens Co on Nassau Island and in the Province of New York yeoman am held and firmly do stand bound unto Albert Vannorstrandt of the same Town and County and pro- vince afore sd in the just and full sum of six hundred and twenty two pounds current lawful money of the province afore sd, to be paid to the sd Albert Vannortstrandt or to his Certain Attur- ney heirs, Executors and Administrators or Assigns to the which payment well and truly to be made and done, I do bind myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and every of firmly by these presence, Sealed with my seal, dated the 25th day of May in the year of our Lord Christ 1774. The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden Jacobus Luyster or his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Albert Vannorstrandt or Assigns the just and full sum of three hundred and eleven pound current lawful money of the province afore sd with the intrest at five percent of the province aforesaid, and that at or before the first day of May which will be in the year of our Lord Christ 1775, and that without fraud, coven or fur- ther delay, then this presents obligation to be void and of none affect or else to stand and remain in full force power and vertue in the law."
