Sunday at her home, 433 Clermont Avenue, of ailments of ad- vanced age. Deceased was the daughter of Douw D. William- son, who died about fifteen years ago, and who was at one time Comptroller of New York City and, later, president of the Farmers' Loan and Trust Company. She was born in New Brunswick, June 23, 1818, and had lived in the hill section of Brooklyn for about twenty-five years. She was a prominent member of the P. E. Church of the Messiah. A daughter, Mrs. Joseph P. Pigot, survives the deceased."

He was a veterinary surgeon and at one time had charge of a number of valuable horses and cows in Venezuela. Was im- prisoned there with Doctor Torrey for some months. A damage suit against the government for illegal detention has recently been contemplated.

Her friend, Caleb S. Woodhull, was one of the executors.

Cornelia Foster, probably a dau. of William Foster (and his wife Anna), capt. of the ship Concord from New England to London in 1678, who appears to have settled at Ja., where they were witnesses at the bp. of Cornelia's 2ª child, Cobus, Nov. 13, 1723. Apl. 1, 1746, he was chosen overseer of highways. Oct. 28, 1746, he had his ear-mark recorded. Apl. 7, 1747, was again chosen overseer. Apl. 19, 1757, he protested against the use of the public money for fencing the plains. Apl. 21, 1767, he con- veyed to Epenetus Platt 8 acres of land in a neck called Hungry Harbor. Apl. 18, 1768, Frederick Nostrand, Senior, Tho's Treadwell, Frederick Nostrand, Jr., and John Nostrand of Hemp- stead, and Jacobus Nostrand of Suffolk Co. deed to Charles Duryea of O. B. 20 acres in Hempstead South Woods (L. 3, F., 436, Ja.). Charles Duryea married Jacobus Nostrand's daugh- ter.

FREDERICK SYMONSEN NOSTRAND, of Bushwick, son of Symon Hansen and Maria Fredericks, m., Aug. 13, 1687, Lea Fonteyn. On the assessment roll of Bushwick in 1693; and the census of 1698, as I man, I woman, 3 children, 2 slaves Apl. 29, 1707, he bought 7g part of the Genl. Patent of Tappan (R. L. B., F., 36, Goshen). May 23, 1707, Frederick Symonson and Lea his wife, sell the 3 of 1, of the whole Patent of Tappan. Jan. 23, 1707/8, he petitions for a ferry between Long Island and New York. 1715, he was a Leftenant in a Co. of Militia in Kings Co., Capt. Francis Titus of Bushwick; signed his name, Frederick Symonse. The son Carel (Charles) retained the name of Simonson and was the ancestor of the O. B. Simonsons. The son Frederick settled in the town of Hempstead and retained the name of Nostrand.
