Williams.

Situated on the Northern Railroad ten miles from Colusa. It is the shipping point for that place. A heavy mercantile busi- ness is transacted at Williams, as is evidenced from its large, well stocked stores and other thriv- ing manufactories, business houses, and gigantic warehouses. Among its manufacturing in- terests are a flour-mill of large capacity, a foundry and ma- chine shop, employing a number of skilled mechanics, a boot andl shoe factory and a couple of wa- gronmakers' shops. The Williams . House is a brick building, with a large number of spacious and well furnished rooms, conducted by Mr. W. H. Williams, the

pioneer of the town. The Williams House possesses the modern conveniences, including bath-rooms, etc. The Western Hotel is a new building with new furniture, conducted by Mr. J.E. Wilson. The Western House is a good family and twinsient house. Williams has a popula- tion of 500, and a weekly news- paper.
