I present you, herewith, the annual report for the Dept. of Weights & Measures of the Town of Norwood, for the year ending December 31, 1963.

Fees collected and paid to Treasurer $441.50


The usual spot checking of essential food items conducted during the past year numbered some 1012 units, serves as a double check against the human and mechanical elements involved. Of that total, 659 were found correct, 136 were found under weight and 217 were found to be over weight. The improper items were removed from sale by the merchants and advised accordingly.


I wish to thank the Manager, Board of Selectmen, Police Dept., Officials of the State Dept., Norwood Merchants, Industrial Representatives, and the public for their respective cooperation with this dept. in making it possible to quietly and efficiently realize the achievement of the records herein contained.
