Know all men by these presents that I, Joshua Rogers, of the town of Southampton, &c, yeoman, for and in consideration of the sum of ninety- four pounds, eleven shillings, to me in hand paid by Thomas Cooper, of the same place, yeoman, have sold unto the said Thomas Cooper and his heirs forever, three-sixteenths of one whole share and two shillings and eleven pence and two-thirds of a penny estimate, as it now stands, estimated at forty pounds for one whole share, the aforesaid right running throughout the whole land of Montauk, to have and to hold the same forever, and do warrant to defend.

To all christian people to whom these presents shall come, greeting, know ye that I, Joseph Conkling, of East Hampton, &c., farmer, for divers causes, and more especially for the good will I bear unto my loving son Edward Conkling, of the same place, mariner, do voluntarily and of my own free will give to my said son Ed- ward Conkling, a certain tract of land lying in East Hampton near Sag Harbor, containing about twelve acres more or less, bounded northerly by the highway, southerly by Nathan Fordham, Esq., southwesterly by the highway that parts the two towns, and Joseph Ellis' land. I freely give the same forever to my said son Edward and his heirs, and do warrant the same.
