Book G, page 215 .- In conformity with the request of the Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the town of East-Hampton, the undersigned Commissioners of Highways, in and for the said town, have surveyed the highway which runs over the beach and parallel to the shore at Sag-Harbor, and find the width, courses and distances of the lines of the said highway as follows :
Namely, the said highway from the boundary line between the Town of Southampton and East-Hampton to its intersec- tion with the highway, which the Commissioners of the said town of East-Hampton obtained by way of exchange, of Daniel Fordham, Hubbard Latham and Henry P. Dering, in the yeae 1807, is two rods in width ;
And the easterly section of the said beach highway from its junction with the said exchanged highway is three rods in

width. The courses and distances of the line of the said beach highway on the southerly side thereof, are as stated below : From its junction with the eastern side or line of the said ex- changed highway (which point of intersection is designated by a stone placed near the horse pump house recently erected on the said exchanged highway) is south 62 deg., east four chains and 39 links ; from thence south 63 deg. 15 min., east 3 chains and 78 links to the eastern end of the said highway. The said end of the last mentioned, or beach highway, butts up to and conjoins with a line which forms the course of the westerly side of a rope-walk erected by Capt. William I. Rysam. The said surveyed line on the southerly side of the aforesaid beach highway runs 2S links from the eastern corner of Obadiah Smith's dwelling house, and 26 links from the eastern corner of William Taylor's dwelling house and 9 links from the eastern corner of Sylvanus Cook's house. And we, the Commissioners, do hereby ordain, establish and declare the abovesaid beach highway to be a public and open high- . way forever, and authorize the Town Clerk to record the same according to law.

1st. Voted that the yards of Jacob Hopping, Talmage Jones, Baldwin C. Talmage, Lester Bennet and David Baker be public pounds.
2d. Voted that the sum of twelve hundred dollars be levied and collected for the support of the poor of this town, the ensuing year, and one hundred and ten dollars for the contin- gent expenses of the town, and one hundred dollars to defray the expenses of the suit depending between the town and the Mr. Hunttings, and one hundred dollars to defray the expenses of the suit depending between the town and Elnathan Parsons.
3d. That the publie grass and Jeremiah Loper's Montauk be hired out this day at auction, and the money arising there- from be paid to the supervisor, on the first Monday of Sep- tember next.
4th. Voted that any fence equal to two rails with posts that is three feet and eight inches high in the clear, shall be considered a sufficient fence.
5th. Voted that the members of the board of excise be and they are hereby requested not to grant any license to any person to sell or retail strong or spirituous liquors in this town for the ensuing year, for any less sum than thirty dollars.
6th. Voted that the same number of pews and slips in the meeting house be hired out the ensuing year as were the last, and the money arising for the rent of the same be appropri- ated to the necessary repairs of the house, and the residue to- wards the payment of the Rev. Mr. Condit's salary.

7th. Voted that the trustees of the town be requested to take care of the meeting house, and to prosecute all persons who shall do any injury to said house in any manner whatso- ever, and to employ some suitable person to sweep the house, shut the doors and windows, and to ring the bell.
Sth. Voted that if any person or persons shall keep any flock of sheep or suffer their sheep to be on the commons of this town, at any time during the year ensuing, all such sheep shall be liable to be impounded, the owner or owners of the same to pay one shilling per head for each sheep so impound- ed, Wainscott flock excepted, and that to be under the care of a shepherd approved of by the trustees.
9th. Voted that all horses or neat cattle that shall be found grazing or running at large on Napeague, or any of the beaches on the south side, from the hither end of Montauk to the western bounds of this town, at any time between the sixth day of May next ensuing and the twelfth day of September following, shall be liable to be impounded; provided there be a sufficient fence, the owner of such cattle or horses to pay fifty cents per head for all such neat cattle or horses so im- pounded.
10th. Voted that no cattle be permitted to run at large on the commons or highways of this town from the time they are brought from Montauk in the fall or winter until they go on again in the spring, under the penalty of one dollar per head for all such cattle, to be recovered with cost of suit by the supervisor, the one half to be paid to the complainant when recovered, and the other half for the support of the poor of this town.
11th. Voted that the trustees of the town manage the par- sonage land for the ensuing year.
12th. Voted that the commissioners of highways be author- ized to exempt from the road tax all persons who will procure wagons and will use them on the public highways, that

measure four inches on the tire, for the period of three years ensuing the date hereof as they may be in possession and use of such wagons.
13th. Voted that the trustees of the town be requested to procure bulls for the use of the town and to pay for the ser- vices of them out of the funds of the town in their hands.
14th. Voted that the compensation of fence viewers be one dollar per day.
16th. Voted that the suit depending between the Mr. Hunttings and the town be referred to the care of the trus- tees of the town.
17th. Voted that the suit depending between Elnathan Parsons and the town be referred to the care of the trustees of the town.
18th. Voted that the trustees be authorized to grant to the Rev. Mr. Condit so much of the parsonage land as he may apply for, and upon the terms which they think proper.
19th. Voted that the unappropriated or unexpended money in the hands of the supervisor be paid over to the overseers of the poor immediately after auditing the town account.
20th. Voted that the parsonage land enclosed by Mr. Noah Barnes, be referred to the care of the trusteess.
21st. Voted that Messrs. David Hedges, Jr., Josiah Mul- John T. Dayton, Samuel Miller, Henry D. Stratton, Talmage Barnes and Jonathan S. Conklin be and they are appointed a committee to take into consideration the case of the town paupers, and they have full power to take any measures or to form any plan which they may think best in order to lessen the support of the same.
22d. Voted that Mr. Huntting be paid the amount of his bill for the repairs of the base viol out of the church funds.
Adjourued to meet again on the first Tuesday in April, 1835, at the meeting house in this town, at 9 o'clock A. M.
