twentieth day of March next, all such sheep shall be liable to be pounded, and the owner or owners of all such sheep so pounded shall pay one shilling for each sheep so pounded, Wainscott flocks excepted, and they to be under the care of a shepherd approved by the trustees.
3d. That no person or persons shall be permitted to draw any seine or seines in the pond called Alewife Brook pond or in any of the ponds belonging to this town, unless they shall first obtain liberty of the trustees of this town under the penalty of the trustees of this town under the penalty of fif- teen dollars for each draught of a seine or seines as aforesaid, to be recovered with costs of suit, by any person or persons who shall prosecute for the same to effect before any court having cognizance thereof, the one half of all which forfeitures, when recovered, to be for the person or persons who shall prosecute for the same to effect, and the other half for the benefit of the poor of this town.
4th. That no person or persons shall be permitted to pick or gather any cranberries, beach plums or bayberries on any of the common lands belonging to this town without first ob- taining liberty of the trustees or such person or persons as they shall appoint for that purpose under the penalty of six cents for every quart of cranberries, beach plums or bayber- ries so picked or gathered, as aforesaid, to be recovered before any court having cognizance thereof, by any person or per- sons who shall prosecute for the same, the one half of which forfeitures, when recovered, to be for the person or persons who shall prosecute for the same to effect, and the other half for the benefit of the poor of this town.
5th. That the trustees be authorized to hire out the parson- age land for any term of time not exceeding four years.
6th. That Henry Loper have liberty to pasture the high- way that surrounds his lot, provided that he keep upthe string of fence near his house that fences the Napeague meadows.

Voted by the proprietors of Montauk that the Trustees shall have full power and authority to transact the business of Montauk in behalf of the said proprietors, from this day until our next annual town meeting, as usual.

Resolved, The town of East Hampton (with the exception of that part of it which is annexed to the eleventh school dis- trict of the town of Southampton) be divided into eight school districts, bounded and numbered as follows, viz :
1st district to include Gardiner's Island.
2d district to include the whole of Montouk, beginning at the point and extending westerly to Montauk bounds.
3d district to be bounded east by the 2d district, north by Gardiner's bav, northwest and west by a line running south- westerly from the house of Jonathan Edwards to the house of Jeremiah Dayton (including the former of these houses only) and south by the sea. (Crossed.)
