He was an intelligent man very precise and careful in his dress, and very gentlemanly in his manners. He was noted for his excellent gardens. church in Ipswich. 1754. He was Collector and Treasurer, in


1748, Selectman 1750 and 1765, also a Lieutenant. I know not where they went; perhaps to Granville, with his Father, but the Church record gives nothing in regard to the matter, and I know Chil .:

He was a member of the companies of "Minute men" which marched to Lexington and Concord, and he was at the battle of Bunker Hill. He was Constable and Coll. in 1777. Did this family remove to Rindge, N.H .? Her brothers went there, but I know nothing more of them. Chil .:


1. Sarah b. 20 Apr. 1766 Sally Dodge, an adult, o.b.c. and was bapt. 17 June 1798. Was it this Sarah?

(Son of 117) b. 11 Feb.1734-5, m. (In. 18 Mar.1758) Sarah Smith of Ipswich. I do not know where they lived. He r.b. c. 20 May 1759. Both were ad.f.c. 7 June 1767. I do not know where they went to from here. A man of the name was a soldier from Westminster, during the Revolution, but I am not at all certain this was the same. Chil .:


1. John Smith b. 22 Apr.bapt. 15 Mar.1761. I give the date of birth as recorded, but it must be wrong, as will be seen by the date of baptism.
