At work one day he heard the click of a musket-lock and looking into the bushes he saw the face of an Indian. Both r.b. c. and were ad. f.c. 26 May 1765 and both dis. to the church in Fitchburg 2 Jan.1768. There he became a prominent man. He was Colonel of a Mass. Regt. through a large part of the Revolutionary war; often a Selectman and representative of Fitchburg. A few years after the war, they removed to Hartland, Vt. where he d. 1814. She d. Chil .: 1.
